I think the squad being behind him still is the real driving factor in keeping him tbh.

Also, like I said, sacking a man who just won the club a major European trophy would make the club look ridiculous and small time.

If he starts the season and continues the shit form in the league everyone will think the sacking is justified, regardless of the trophy being won.

This is such a stupid way to run a club. Don’t sack him because scared of the reaction from the crowd, even if you don’t think he’s the right man.

Just to give him 10 games and he stinks it up like he’s done for 18 months, sack him and we’ve wasted another season.

No thanks.

And for the players.
Sorry but they finished 17th getting beaten every week. No way are they as beholden to Ange as some Ange fans are trying to portray as a convenient reason to keep him.

Truth is once the new manager is on board and we are higher up the table, it’ll be Ange who.

Frankly any manager can’t fail to improve the side in terms of PL results

💯 and also halfway through good managers won't be available too. Brain vs emotion here

My head says he is out of his depth at a team competing for top 4/5 every season. He has a low ceiling & his level is more of a mid table team. He is a decent manager & without the injuries I think would have finished top half. But he has his limitations & I can’t see him taking us further long term.
My heart says he won us an European cup & it seems so cold to sack him. So give him until Christmas & see where we at. & maybe the momentum of the cup win etc takes us forward. But my head tells me it will be the same old with his limitations getting in the way. Then you throw in all the incompetence of levy & Enic & lack of ambition & it’s not looking hopeful is it! The cup win has papered over a lot of cracks. Plus he could sign some more dubious players who are quick but technically limited. Then it’s another rebuild & next season will be a transitional one for a new manager who takes over half way through the season.
But on the flip side I think any new manager will struggle with Enic & levy holding us back. Everyone before has so why would frank or anyone else be any different. Be interesting to see what levy does?

Can't agree with that at all. You had an 18/19 year old midfielder from the Championship with no experience playing as a starter in the backline because he was the best choice and and there's "many teams" with worse starters? Interested to know which clubs have worse starting CB's than a pairing of an 18 year old Archie Gray and Ben Davies? Can't imagine many swapping their two starters for that.
Archie Gray and Ben Davies didn’t start that many matches together. Gray did fine and was not a reason we lost games. That’s just cherry picking.

Not entirely true. Our win % when Vic, Porro, Cuti, VDV and Udogie ALL start would have us comfortably in Top 4.

They just very rarely all started in the league together.

However they did all start in the final 5 games of the UEL - which we ended up winning.

We’ll maybe get to find out if there any truth to that next season- otherwise it’s just projection and extrapolation. Many managers did more with worse defenders and defenses. Ange did very little with a lot.

IEh? It's established fact not extrapolation or projection? The stats are based what's actually happened :ange-facepalm2::ange-facepalm2::D When they started we won. Fact.

If you want to make a different argument go ahead but this habit you have of arguing established fact is very weird

You lot winding each other up whether he should stay or go. All you have to do is wait 6 days and if hes still here june 1st then he will be staying. I just hope levy backs him with the experienced players that ange wants and ange makes some adjustments to the way he plays.

We have two full years of data about what happens when Ange lines up against decent opponents

1 PPG

And that figure was buoyed by a fast start last year that never was duplicated

It will only take a couple of games of the same old shit for people to realize retaining him based on the vibes was a titanic mistake, but by that time it will be too late.
When was the last time we actually played good attacking football? Can we trust him in the selection process of transfer targets. Looking the starting 11 the other day prbly 3/4 players were purchased under Ange. Our attack is miles off the quality needed especially if you play a Jose ball.

Also if they really love him oh so much and they’d be so upset, maybe they shouldn’t have been so monumentally shit all season long and shouldnt be sitting in 17th.

They got themselves up for a cup run. Sorry lads that isn’t enough for a top level club.
Feels like it will be a carbon copy of ten Haag. Saved by a cup win. Then the next season things unsurprisingly carry on the same way so gets the sack.
The only reason I am not too fussed is I don’t trust levy & Enic to get the right person in & back them well enough anyway as history has proven .

It’s a toughie, I’ve been strongly Ange Out but the reality I’m being forced to confront is what happens then, who replaces him? Does it make sense to take out a manager who has won a major trophy for the Club, only to replace him with a manager from a lesser club who has won nothing and only has potential to offer?
I know keeping Ange will just end in tears, possibly by Xmas but can you really move it out at this time? Dunno, tough decision.
How I feel too. Have no real hope if he stays on but under this ownership what’s the alternative & it feels very cold sacking him after a cup win. But I contradict it all by being pretty sure it will end in tears as he is out of his depth to regularly achieve CL via the league. & we can’t win the europa next season!
