The final was far too emotional for me to be rational about his appointment right now, I am still on cloud 9.
Frankly I think he has earned the start of the season, now if that’s a good idea or not remains to be seen, the league form says it would be a disastrous decision and I have always maintained that is the true barometer and measurement of growth.
But sacking him after such a major achievement and without at least giving him a chance to prove us all wrong like he did when he said he always wins a trophy in his second season and he actually did it, it would just feel wrong to do so and I don’t see the benefit of it now.
If we bring someone in and they are just as bad in the league for form and it rips apart the harmony in the squad and the feel good factor, not only do we become a laughing stock but it may ruin any forward momentum we have.
I say take a chance and if we get 10 games in and the league form is still as bad as now then we part ways at least knowing we gave him the chance to fix it, I think after winning the EL it’s the least he deserves.

It’s a toughie, I’ve been strongly Ange Out but the reality I’m being forced to confront is what happens then, who replaces him? Does it make sense to take out a manager who has won a major trophy for the Club, only to replace him with a manager from a lesser club who has won nothing and only has potential to offer?
I know keeping Ange will just end in tears, possibly by Xmas but can you really move it out at this time? Dunno, tough decision.

watched a few videos on frank now though and hes defo far more of a football scientist than what we have now so thats straight away a big upgrade.
Because we’ve just won a cup and fans are mostly emotional idiots who are blinded by it and have now forgotten a year and a half of shite because we beat 16th in a final.
I hope and trust the club are not as emotional or idiotic. Paratici especially. Not a huge fan of him but he is ruthless and will look at the facts. This is not a man to lead us to consistent results or success at the top level of the sport.
We face our Ten Haag, Di Matteo moment - a poor coach happening upon a cup. We can make the same mistake or go and get a proper coach in. Or continue the year and a half of absolutely garbage and our worst finish in forever.
Di Matteo masterminded his club to their first ever CL title against Barcelona and Bayern Munich after masterminding an FA cup win + also got them up the league. By the reasons people give to keep Ange he’s a genius. That achievement dwarves Ange’s.

Good luck getting someone in 10 games into the season and not giving him a preseason.
That's way too risky. Chelsea did the same with Di Matteo and they had to get Benitez in for the rest of the season.
I think the main issue is if the league form is still terrible after ten games we would have wasted the summer window and need a new manager.
It's Lange and Pat that a in charge of moulding the team really. That's the point of the system, changing the coach isn't supposed to lead to having to tear it all up

Yeah I’m sure that very particular situation will happen again and an actual elite coach (league title winner, go on my son) will be available at that time.

I completely get this logic as well and it’s a fair point but again, I think the ramifications of sacking him now and the negative impact that would have on the squad would outweigh that.
Also, if the club is smart then our transfer strategy shouldn’t rely on any one manager, we should have a clear plan about what we want, regardless of who is in charge tbh.
I was hearing the same thing people talking about how it can negatively impact the dressing room. It was the only decent argument I heard to keep him.
But they're professional fucking footballers, they'll get over it.
I think the squad being behind him still is the real driving factor in keeping him tbh.
Also, like I said, sacking a man who just won the club a major European trophy would make the club look ridiculous and small time.
If he starts the season and continues the shit form in the league everyone will think the sacking is justified, regardless of the trophy being won.

This squad isn’t being built for Ange and there are good pieces whoever the coach is.
There were probably a load of better options for United to choose from than we have right now. Xavi is probably the only one on our list who could go into that squad and look them in the eye now. You can’t send any of the PL targets into that squad now.
And let’s be real here, United got much worse AFTER sacking Ten Hag so that narrative is pretty much dead anyway.
Ange with his first choice defence is top 4 PPG. If you recruit the depth at CB so we aren’t so fragile when we lose them, it’s not like that wouldn’t benefit the next coach if you end up sacking him anyway.
