I still feel Poch (not necessarily my choice) is our next play. That won’t be possible until the end of next season. Giving Ange more time, maybe that’s the plan. The fact that we’re ditching Scott Munn and others, might mean a whole new set up is on its way in. So hard to know

I wonder if Ange does go, when it will happen.

He's going on holiday tomorrow. They won't sack him whilst on holiday.

Does it happen this evening?

Or do they wait until he returns?

Paratici's return isn't actually confirmed yet. Munn is still here.

Going to be an interesting summer to see how it all plays out.

August will come around quickly so everything really needs to happen and be in place by end of June latest..

I would imagine if we were planning to sack Ange this summer, and we certainly have been IMO, I don't see how all those plans are shelved because of Wednesaday night.

I think we would have been in deep discussions with our managerial targets for a while.

For the life of me, I cannot see how appointing someone like Frank could reasonably be seen as an upgrade on Ange. His senior managerial career consists of managing Brondby and Brentford. He's won nothing. When Brentford had an injury crisis they finished 16th.

Whatever you think of Ange, and his managerial experience before joining us, he has won trophies everywhere he has gone.

He has brought us a European trophy. That is more than Conte, Mourinho, Poch, Redknapp etc did.

If Ange is let go, I can accept that. Our league form under him has been awful this season. I think it would be a mistake, but I can see why it could happen.

I do not see Frank as an upgrade at all. Having said that, if it happens, I support my club and I will support my club's manager because I want us to do well.

I used to feel this way but the bottom line is Frank is an excellent manager. To take a team from the championship and have them be such a consistent mid table team with their resources is an amazing achievement. I liken him to Howe who also got Bournemouth relegated after similar achievements. He didn’t start being a bad manager because of one bad year. 16th is good for Brentford. Not only did they have injuries but Toney was suspended for much of the year. Hes adapted their style of play every year and they have become more attacking the longer they are in the PL. Brentford are a sneaky good watch these days. They are 9th this year above Bournemouth and Fulham after losing Toney.

I’m personally just coming around to the idea that really good managers will be successful. We act like we have to capture lightning in a bottle and some guy we can fall in love with, the players will love, etc, etc. We act like our job is so special. We just need to find a really good manager and give him some time and get the right players. I think he’d be a fine choice. Would he be our miracle worker? Who knows but considering Antonio Conte couldn’t do it, I’m not sure if that’s what we should be stressing about. I’m happy Ange won a trophy and I was in his corner longer that most but the overall results over 2 years are just not sufficient to me and I haven’t seen anything to make me think it will improve. One trophy doesn’t override the consistent pattern of performances for basically 18 months.

What type of manager would you see as an upgrade?
It's a tough call because, until they failed here, the likes of Conte and Mourinho (much as I despise the man's persona) would have been obvious names. Part of the reason I think we should stick with Ange for now is that I don't see any great available alternatives out there.

Would anyone be seriously excited by Frank or Glasner or McKenna or any of the other names being mentioned? I'm not. Much as some people hate Ange, we are winners again under him. I don't care that some say we won in spite of him, not because of him. We won under him. We didnt under Poch, or Conte, or Mourinho, or Redknapp. Full stop.

I appreciate I haven't answered your question. It's because I don't have an answer. We can't get Xabi Alonso, nor Klopp (God forbid) nor Guardiola nor Ancelotti and so on. I think there is no viable upgrade out there right now.

We have just won a major European trophy first trophy in seventeen years and some on here wanting the Brentford or Bournemouth manager in who have won the combined total of nothing. Mental fanbase

They need to get on with it. Back him or sack him Sunday evening so we can plan for the summer window. How can you attract players when you dont know who the manager is?

I’ve wanted Ange out since November. I saw the writing on the wall as early as the Chelsea game at home in his first season, and it was clear to me then that something wasn’t quite right. That opinion hasn’t changed.

But here’s the thing: it’s not black and white. Some of the attitudes on here are ridiculous. Acting like their view makes them a better fan or somehow more “right.” We’re all Spurs fans. We see things differently, and that’s okay.

I’m absolutely over the moon we’ve finally ended the 17 year wait for a trophy, 40 for a European trophy. It means something. I don’t care who we beat or what others say about the competition. A trophy is a trophy, and plenty of fans from other clubs are envious whether they like to admit it or not.

At the same time, that doesn’t erase how poor we’ve been in the league. Ange has failed miserably in that regard. Still, I don’t think he should be sacked just yet. Whether that’s right or wrong. In my opinion, he’s earned the right to start next season, regardless of mine or others thoughts on him. but, let’s not sugarcoat things — I think we will still be stumbling by November, and can see the club making a change.

I hope he turns it around. I’d love for him to prove me wrong. But being happy about a trophy doesn’t mean ignoring the problems. We can celebrate and still hold standards — that’s what being a proper fan is all about.

Its a tough call.

- Sack a manager who has brought the first european trophy to Spurs for 41 years invites ridicule if the manager coming in has anything other than a decent first season (and what is that, is coming 5th and getting to Last 16 or quarter finals of CL regarded as a success for a new manager ?)
- Retain Ange who is a good man motivator and persuade him to take on some tactical geniuses as assistant coaches, whilst also bringing in the best 3 players who can be persuaded to join Spurs and 2 or 3 others (plus bring in 2 or 3 youngsters such as Devine and Donley) ......... and hope he can also get 5th place and quarter finals of CL.

Which has the highest probability of happening ? Which has the lowest risk of failure ?

I recall Alex Ferguson succeeding a once very well respected Ron Atkinson as manager at ManU ....... Ferguson was almost sacked after not a great start, lucked it out to go onto being a great manager. But fine margins as to whether Atkinson's sacking and Ferguson's appointment was the correct call in the first year or two, could have easily gone pear shaped.

Levy :

"Dear all, We did it. What an unforgettable night it was in Bilbao as we ended our long wait for glory," it read. "This is a huge moment for the whole club, an historic achievement that sees us lift our first European trophy since 1984.

This club has been on an incredible journey on and off the pitch since we last won silverware, the League Cup, in 2008 – establishing ourselves as one of the biggest in Europe, moving into our new stadium and experiencing some incredible moments – we knew a trophy was the missing piece.

We’ve come so close on a number of occasions and never quite got over the line – I have never wavered from the belief that success is just around the corner.

I’d like to thank Ange and the players for making this incredible achievement possible and thanks to all of our amazing staff – there is so much hard work that goes on behind the scenes and this moment is for everyone to enjoy.''

Hmmmm.

Every single team we beat in the knockouts in 2019 and two of the teams we played in the groups would’ve smashed this current team silly.

And that Liverpool team in the final would’ve ran through Ange’s team without any resistance. A worse Liverpool side has battered us in to oblivion this season.

Winning is winning.

You don’t get trophies for who you beat on your way to finishing second.

I doubt Ange would take too kindly to be 'advised' to change up the coaching and try playing a different way .Next season in all likelihood we will have the two cups at home that we could have a chance in ,the league and CL are completely off the table .Unfortunately I can see him here for the start and then get the boot so a scramble then to see who we can try next .

Well put, I was firmly out because how could you not be with that league form? Now I'm firmly in for the start of the season, because I am riding a wave of positivity that's meant far more to me than any other supporting moment in my history. You can't legislate for emotion and how that can dramatically alter how you approach rhyme or reason. It's a romantic game and I would always hope to side with the romantic side where possible

No thanks to Frank, uninspiring mid table manager gonna get you mid table results. He's been there awhile for a reason without any big clubs home or abroad getting him out . Same for Silva

Neither played 60 games this season. Just saying.
Well we're going to need to get a manager who can handle playing that many games, and Ange has shown he can't do it.

Iraola I have doubts about, but I do like Frank a lot. He'll get way more money to spend here which is meant to help deal with playing more games.

I'd also expect to see less hamstring injuries under him.
