A replacement level manager would have raised all results, and would just as easily have been able to stroll through a competition where we faced no one on our level until the final. Which final was won improbably, once again, without our registering a shot on goal from our own feet.

Please explain how Conte got knocked out of the cups by Forest, Middlesborough and Sheffield. Then knocked out of Europe after being beaten by the mighty Mura, Rennes and Vitese.

How about the great Jose. Knocked out of cups by Norwich, Everton and then crashed out of Europe to RB Leipzig and then Dynamo Zagrab.

Maybe asked Poch about being knocked out by Colchester, Palace, West Ham? Getting knocked out of Europe by Gent.

Why didn't Jose / Conte / Poch stroll through these teams that aren't "on our level" ?

One thing in Ange’s defence is our squad depth is poor.

That’s football, shit happens. We’ve all seen our team get beat in cup competitions. I’ve always wondered if it was the arrogance of the fans and players, showing up to play “middle of nowhere farmers league teams” putting in minimal effort, and consequently embarrassing themselves.

Ange nearly lost to a non league side, and he’s lost a lot more than anyone mentioned above.

22 league defeats people.

He's lost more league games than he's won since he joined the club.

We have got progressively worse since he started with a reducing PPG with every passing month in the league.

He had to throw the league in order to beat AZ Alkmaar, Frankfurt, Bodo/glimt and Man UTD
(He said this, I think it was bullshit but he'll say anything to make it look like his master plan worked).

I get it, the heart says keep him but being sensible and getting rid is the right thing to do.

If we want to be a successful club we labevto look at it that Ange has served his purpose . He was won us a trophy and got us to point A. But it is now time for someone else to get us to point B.
Now is the time to split while credit is high on both sides.

The club has won nearly everything it's won in the Ange era, what little that is, in spite of him. He's just set a record for defeats, lost the majority of his matches, and has the worst record in general of any manager since Ramos or since the 1990s depending on your measure.

No one can claim Ange is a net positive, there are two years of data stacked up to the ceiling that say otherwise.

No-one before in in FOUR decades was able to do what he did- so explain why they didn't they all stroll it in?

This is the weakest player roster since Poch left. Its worse than the squad Postecoglou took to fifth. Better teams- and as he said better-credentialled managers- failed.

His league form is abysmal, but no-one can take away his Europa Cup managers medal.

Imagine Ange stays and we have our usual summer of signing a few mediocre players and/or talented youngsters. Any reason to think we'll do much better than this season in the league? I think we'll have the same issues with conceding goals and injuries will continue to harm us over long periods. I just don't see anything to build on with Ange, unless we think low block, counter attacking football will be a thing in the league as well.

"Shit happens" is a phrase for when something unexpected happens on occasion. Not when it repeats over and over again. THAT is poor management.

Woolwich fans are laughing at us for keeping him. They lost 4 games in the league. We lost 22. The maths is not really that hard.

A club thinking beating bodo is better than beating real madrid isn't going places. I can't believe how small minded some of our fans are.

Sure, celebrate. Rub it in. But wanting this loser to stay? That's dumb.

When it is looked at in that context it really is hard to say to keep him. No manager is changing 22 defeats in a season into single figures the follow year. They just aren’t. I would say even the next guy would find it hard to make that big of a switch in form.

Let’s see where we are in a week or two and if he is still in charge.

I definitely hear both arguments
Yep me too.

Unfortunately, but understandably the argument for keeping Ange is rooted in emotion.

These sort of decisions should be made objectively, and if we do that there’s only really one sensible outcome based on plenty of evidence from our league form.

Saying we’ll give him the start of the season is really an admission that we don’t think he’s good enough, but we’re not brave enough to make the decision.

the only reason spurs won the europa cup was because ,Ange took a team that finished in 8th spot and had lost kane ,to a 5th place finish and european qualification in his first year in charge. van de ven missed 25 league games, romero missed 20 league games, vicario missed 14 league games ,richarlison missed 23 league games, udogie missed 13 league games ,solanke missed 11 league games. yet there are people who think ange should of kept winning every game without his star players especially his center backs . what is the point of having star players if you can win without them ? in the 4-0 semi final loss in the efl cup to liverpool , the backline was kinsky, spence ,gray, davies ,danso do you honestly believe they could hold on to that 1-0 lead ? the fact spurs took a lead into that match is a credit to ange. the loss to villa in the fa cup the backline was kinsky ,porro ,spence, danso ,gray. when they sit down to analyze why we ended up where we did these thiings have to be taken into consideration. would liverpool have won the title if their starting center backs missed a total of 25 and 20 games ?

The idea of Ange coming to the club in part was to develop the young players from the academy and try to win a trophy . He's achieved half of his tasks . But we can't overlook the fact that we lost 22 games in a single season . That's relegation if it wasn't for the fact that there was 3 really poor teams that came up and went back down . We even lost games to two of them . He hasn't been seen at the academy games at all , so there's a sort of dereliction of duty there .
Let's look forward . We have Ashley Phillips and Luka Vuskovic who were both on loan , coming to us in the summer . So the fact that Romero wants to leave we might just have a CB that can step in and fill those shoes . I'm no fool I know that's a massive ask , but it's a possibility and I know we are looking to sign Guehi from Palace to fill the empty slot . If we're going to axe the manager then we need to be swift and find a replacement quickly . I'm hearing Frank , Glasner and Iraola are on the short list . My preference is to go for a young manager that's doing well and can bring fresh ideas . So I would like us to install Francesco Farioli from Ajax . He's gradually gaining the respect of the top clubs in Europe and I think he would be ideal with the amount of young players we have that can be moulded .
