Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He would if we made him and Palace the right offer. With the right assurances. I mean, think about it. If Tottenham Hotspur can no longer attract or prise away the manager of Crystal Palace, with Champions league football on offer too, then our stock really has fallen off a cliff and there's something seriously, hideously wrong behind the scenes.
I doubt he'd even have to move house or change his kids school etc....
If I were Glasner, looking at Tottenham right now, I'd be seriously thinking that there's a chance of winning Europa with Palace and taking them to CL, I mean, if finishing 17th is alright for Spurs as long as you win Europa, then surely Palace would accept that!

Only question mark comes from whether they are going to sell all his key players this summer, with Eze and Guehi heavily linked away, and Wharton attracting strong praise.

There's no way we could play like we did against 2nd rate teams from 5th, 6th, 7th rate leagues in the CL and get anything other than hammered

Bodo could still be in the CL next Season, Frankfurt already are...... your right about United though ! :sonpoint:

I've been following Spurs for 45 years. Didn't start just because Ange joined.

I respect him because he started at the very very bottom and has worked his way up. That shows immerse character and the attributes required to be a success. No player that has ever worked with him has said a bad word about him. He hasn't throw his toys out the pram and blamed the owners, slagged off players, had a go at refs. He's got on with the job and taken ownership when things haven't gone well.

He has shown time and time again that he can take over a poor performing team and turn them into winners. He inherited Spurs with a poor and tired squad who had just lost arguably their best player ever. He turned them into European title winners in 2 seasons. Something Conte, Jose and Poch couldn't do with a far better squad.

He delivered EXACTLY what Spurs fans AND the owners wanted. A trophy and Champions League football. Albeit, via an alternative pathway.

I don't believe that relegation was ever a risk. Had our league position been close to that level, we would have simply would have fielded our strongest team and focused on the league.

As mentioned in the thread earlier - the injuries aren't just down to Ange. Romero missed almost an entire season under Conte. Lamela, Dele, Dier, Wanyama, Lo Celso, Nodombelly, Sessegnon. Our medical department has been terrible for quite some time. It is the medical team's job to prepare the team for the physical demands of the league and to work on recovery.

The Ball is now in Levy's hand. Ange has demonstrated that the squad is capable but needs to improve depth and quality if they want to compete across multiple competitions. If not - choose your battle. I fear if we bring in another coach - the only deliverable will be to get top 4 above all else.

Romero played 26 games Micky 22

If Ange wanted strength in depth he could have left Tel in Germany and not taken Werner who even when fit didn't start a game, and brought in or loaned another centre back.

The medical team has little to do with the injuries to our players, and it has been widely reported that Celtic had the exact same problems with injuries solely down to training demands. This was admitted by Ange several times in the Scottish media.

Our ability to field a side worthy to compete in the PL was down to one man. If he is here next season God forbid, expect more of the same.

I flip flop every day and maybe every few hours. But without any clear cut upgrade, I think we have to keep him. At this time the pros still outweigh the cons (subject to change later).

This is where I'm at. I was definitely Ange in last week, but less convinced now. But there isn't a stand-out candidate so I'm not sure it's worth rolling the dice.

I don't share the concerns about us getting relegated. If we even start to show the same form as this year, he'll be gone by November anyway, which is plenty of time for the new man to put points on the board.

If there is a suitable upgrade, it's time to change. If not, he continues until/unless things continue being piss poor in the league. No point chopping and changing if there isn't a long term solution in mind.

Only if relegation is a genuine threat after 5 or so games, do you get rid without having someone amazing in place.

If ange were to stay we won't get relegated and I don't think the season will as bad as this one in the league but just because there isnt a stand out candidate doesnt mean we shouldnt roll the dice.

Anyway whatever levy decides he needs to pull his finger out and get some experienced players and back the manager properly.

I'm not making excuses for Ange, but i think people underestimate the severe lack of technical ability within this squad. There's no doubt in my mind we smash United if we have Maddison, Kulu, and Bergvall available. But we need more & better if we're going to compete next season.

I think we have a lot of strong athletes and complimentary players and players with strong potential upside, but not enough drivers.
