Ange was gone 24 hours after the Final if we lost. Now we won I think Levy is just waiting so it's not too close to the Final and joy of the win before bringing the mood back down. Surely he can't back someone who managed us into the worst team in the prem that didn't get relegated.
I think the issue is twofold:

The plan to sack him was 100% agreed as you said

BUT their replacement was not fully lined up. Maybe it’s Frank, maybe they were waiting on Inzaghi (now gone to Saudi), maybe it was all a shambles and no one had a fucking clue. Point is now with Vinai in, they have to sort the sporting director, who I guess is Paratici, but that ain’t official yet either. So, far down the list of priorities, is sorting a manager at this point. It’s a fucking shambles. My best guess is we’re courting Frank (or another manager)and want to have him agreed before we sack Ange.

What shocks me is it appears they didn’t even have a contingency plan if he did win, which I guess says it all about their utter lack of confidence in the guy. I cannot blame Levy for that, I suppose.

I think the powers that be made their minds up to get rid, weeks possibly months before The EL final. What winning it has done is by him a "respectful delay" before it is announced.
Point! THFC.... We have deliberated long and hard and come to the difficult decision (not) to start a new chapter for the 25/26 EPL campaign, (highlighting the league bit), without Ange! We thank him for bringing the long awaited glory of silverware to our great club and wish him well for the future. Or something along those lines?
I think you're very close to the truth there.

The current silence is, for me, that waiting period until the euphoria has worn off and everyone looks at the season as a whole in the cold light of day. I've experienced this in my own industry, where guys have gone away on holiday, only to come back to a month's notice.

I honestly think that we'll get the announcement of him leaving shortly after he returns, followed by the announcement of our new appointment a few days later.

I'd argue that if Ange stays, part of it is his resilience in press conferences not to throw the FD, or players, under the bus like previous managers. His ability to absorb the 'pressure' and myopic reporting has been outstanding. Sure, he has bristled at times, but never wavered from consistent theme of he is building something with solid foundations...

Anyway as someone else said... Ange wins Trophy's - Tottenham Doesn't.

If they're planning on stability and the long game - they'd be fools to sack him.

The 22 losses sits comfortably with me given context of injuries and the desire to go all in.

It's not as though the winning of the trophy is 'tarnished' when we reflect back in 5 years and go - 'yeah, we won the trophy, but hell, we shipped 22 losses, came 17th (no chance of relegation), so therefore it's a flawed trophy.

I think the fan euphoria is being overtaken by frustration and impatience that no decision has been announced on Potecoglou's future. The club must be aware of the media and public speculation about his future and it needs addressing one way or the other.

However, I think the club is undecided: IF they get who they want under the terms they want Postecoglou is gone. Otherwise they will keep him.

There are also other changes at the management level at the club which complicates the decision

Right, now show poch's league positions for those season's - not once was he 17th!!
I can't believe you're comparing an actual manager with the current incumbent

Well, getting knocked out in the round of 32 in the Europa league....doesn't that make him 17th in that league?

Are you saying he sacrificed Europe to prioritise the league? Or was he a poor coach who couldn't win Europe?

PS....an actual elite manager wins trophies, and doesn't just play to finish 4th.

Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green
Strawberries are sweeter than any I've seen
Beetroots purple and onions white
All grow steadily day and night
The apples are ripe, the plums are red
The broadbeans are sleepin' in a blankety bed
Blackberries are juicy and rhubards are sour
Marrows are fattening hour by hour
Gooseberries hairy and lettuces fat
Radishes round and runner beans flat
The apples are ripe, the plums are red
The broadbeans are sleepin' in a blankety bed
Orangey carrots and turnips cream
Reddening tomatoes that used to be green
Brown potatoes in little heaps
Down in the darkness where the celery sleeps
The apples are ripe, the plums are red
The broadbeans are sleepin' in a blankety bed

Probably the most beautiful post on TFC ever. 😍

So at the start of Ange’s reign his personality was “a breath of fresh air” and comments like “he doesn’t take shit from the journos” or “finally a manager who sticks up for the club” were common around here.
But now he’s a cunt???
And as for personal attacks Harry, pot meet kettle.
Clearly you're not a spurs fan or a football fan...you're an Ange fan which is ok if you're not too bothered about quality or winning...unless of course it's a total fluke like the EL this season.

Love calling bullshit out when I see it.

You can't fluke 15 matches in a competition including winning it. You can be Ange Out all you like, the 22 defeats are a stain that will more than likely see him gone.

But calling the EL win a fluke pours water over the achievement and shits on every fan that turned up in Bilbao as well as went to celebrate at the parade, so FUCK THAT!

Don't get me started on some of the slop we've served up in cup competitions over the past decade or more.

If Ange is keeping his job wouldn't the board just announce this and stop all the speculation and supporter frustration ?
It's Levy and the board that are copping all the shite for not disclosing what they are doing , so why not just announce he's staying .
Very weird to me .
If he's staying .

This is what this team can do when they are fit and we don't have to start 18 year olds.

After this game, we went on for 2.5 months with a game on average EVERY 3.5 days. All whilst missing VDV, Romero, Odobert and then losing Dragusin, Davies, Madisson, Udogie, Vicario, Werner, Johnson to injury.

Ange is on record saying that there was no training during this period. Play Game, rest, recovery - Play another game.

3 new players joined - Kinsky, Tel and Danso. Again, no time to integrate them into training session - straight into games.

If I could be sure that the league situation was a one-off, then I think he should be given another season. The EL victory gave us such a lift that it's hard to dismiss it. But whatever the decision is, it needs to be announced quickly, as all the speculation is not good for anyone.

So you don't think that come January 2026 Ange won't forgo the PL for a run in the CL?

I know of no team that have won a Cup, Double or Treble that have forgone their PL campaign for the sake of a Cup run.

Not one.

"When the injured players return from injury you will see a different Spurs side"

We didn't it got worse.

Keeping a manager who lost twenty two PL games based on ninety minutes of football is plain daft.

A one off game is not a sign of life.

When was the last time we won a few league games in a row?
Three on the bounce in February. Brentford away, United home, Ipswich away. 7 goals for 1 against.

That was the period when we recovered some fit players.

If you wanted to be really pro-Ange you could say, well, then a 1-0 loss to City and then we were into the Europa League knockouts as a 13th place side, that was the moment the attentions shifted.

It was more of a false dawn for me. But the point stands that there has never stopped being sparks of life here or there.

It was the midseason period where we had no players and then the late season period where it was all-or-nothing in the EL that we really embarrassed ourselves in the league. Two separate stretches of 4 points from 10 league games. Manager sacking form, no two ways about it.

This entire discussion feels so much more overcomplicated than it needs to be.

Has Ange shown any ability to manage two highly-competitive competitions at the same time? No, in fact he has admitted (whether you believe it or not) that he thew the league so he could just manage one.

Will next year be even more difficult than this past year? Yes, there will be even more attention to our league form at the start of next year, and he will be under instant and significant pressure if things sour at the start. There will be no easy walks for us in CL.

Do we honestly think that Levy will be out splashing the cash to give everything we can to Ange? No.

Keep it simple. Next year will be significantly harder with even higher levels of pressure. NOTHING that has happened this season shows Ange's ability to manage this load of games. Based on this past season, unless we come shooting out of the gate in top form, the pressure will go from 0-100 in about 5 games.

Ange/Frank/Silva we ain’t competing in 4 competitions full throttle unless we get a significant squad upgrade and there’s one reason/person is in charge of that?
