It was quite clear that the majority of the squad were gutted by the dismissal of Ange, with lots of players posting heartfelt messages of support and sadness for the ousted Aussie. Van Der Ven in particular seemed to take his sacking badly and, judging by his performances and demeanour this season, is still pinning for the guy who took him to Europa glory last year.
The appointment of Frank and his defensive, cautious tactics just exacerbated the grievances of the players who also seem to be confused by what is said in public by the management compared to the system employed on field. Outside of the Europa that he won with us that list isn't a particularly compelling argument for his credentials. Unless you're suggesting we should see who the current manager of 'Brisbane Roar' is and give them a whack at the premier league.
