I'm not sure if that was approx 4 games or not, but because it didn't happen, we don't know if we'd still finish 17th and also no Cup.

However we do know we finished 17th and in fact did win a Cup.

It is also true that winning a cup didn't excuse the 17th. We know this because Postecoglou was sacked because of it. Levy literally said so.

Di Matteo had a squad that was far superior to Postecoglou's.

You have to remember that the people you're responding to are, for the most part, very very dim. :D

(on this subject at least. On others they're fine. But that's Derangement for you :D )

Look at the historical facts.

When Arse and Citeh were neck and neck for the title and our next game was against Citeh.
75% on here were barracking for a Citeh win just to stop Arse and when Ange came out and said
"I always play to win", most on here are jumping on his back for not being a true Spurs supporter!

Then move forward to the injury crisis.
We've got a dozen or so first team players out injured. We're still in THAT CUP race.
As per his philosophy, Ange still played to win every game.
But, as a pragmatist, he concentrated on keeping the first team players fit for the cup games and largely relied on youngsters in the PL games.

And it worked!
We won THAT CUP!
I always win in my second season!

What would you prefer?
Win THAT CUP and finish 17th?
or
Don't win the cup and finish 7th or 8th?
This has been explained over and over and over and for some reason the derangers just don’t get it.

Derangers are now so deranged they’ve turned the De Zerbi thread into a full on Postecoglou review. CJJ CJJ has even taken the time to compose a song set to Elton John's "Candle In the Wind" - all about Postecoglou. :roflmao:

This is really the most fascinating clinical psychological study. I've never seen such a small but extremely vocal group of people spoil themselves on a public forum so embarrassingly before. Incredible scenes!

25 to go 😍
Maaaate,
At this rate, we'll reach 10,000 well before DZB is the next manager sacked!

Apparently Palace, Fulham and Bournemouth are interested in hiring him in the summer as their managers are out of contract.

Reunion with Brennan Johnson on the cards?.

If he does go to one of these teams, no doubt they will get caught up in relegation trouble

I'm not sure if that was approx 4 games or not, but because it didn't happen, we don't know if we'd still finish 17th and also no Cup.

It did happen. There were only around 4 PL games where he rotated ("kept the players fit"). It's been covered and ignored several times

33 from 27.

but MW 28 (draw with Bournemouth) was pretty much full strength, with VdV and Son coming on
Same in MW 29 (lost 2-0 to Fulham)
Full strength in the 1-0 loss to Chelsea in MW30

By then it was 34 from 30.

the 3-1 with at Southampton in MW31 was pretty much full-strength too
The 4-2 loss at wolves was a little bit weaker in defence, but rest of the line up was pretty much what we see as full strength
In the 2-1 loss to forest in MW33 we conceded two within 16 mins with Romero and VdV starting the game

The question really is when this whole "didn't concentrate on the league" becomes a case of stable door, horse, bolted. Because we were fucking awful before we got to the point where we lost 5-1 to Liverpool in the 34th game not starting Romero and VdV, the EL final was before the last game, so really we're talking 3 games (MW 35, 36, and 37) which isn't exactly a manifest of games

Ive got it.:freund:

So if we want to talk about De Zerbi, we go to the Thomas Frank thread...........Ain't seen that one in a while.

Frank would probably do ok at Palace, less pressure, although Keith Andrews has shown him up a bit.

I am intrigued to see what Ange does next though.

The De Zerbi thread is actually for footballers and domestic violence with sub-thread of cranial trauma and facial asymmetry. I thought it was obvious and everyone knew.

Every morning I wake up and see that overnight the Aussies have been hard at work, flogging this poor dead old horse.
