Bro, we have fans here who write off players for us before they have even kicked a ball.
There is an arrogance when people point blank shit all over signings or potential signings because they have seen them play for team x or y under different managers and systems, in different countries/leagues and they don't rate them.
I get that some folks get to watch lots of football and have an opinion about said players but every single player should be given a chance to prove themselves for us, under our manager, in our system, in our league.
Even then, as you have said, they need to be given time to bed in, learn the system, gain confidence.

It's the easy path......... A win/win scenario for them that, at the same time, only serves as a drain upon those around them.

We have people who write off our own players even when they're playing well and will use any shred of evidence against them to confirm their bias.
There's an active thread on here just like that, when the player doesn't score or assist they're all over it but as soon as he does they go quiet, agendas, vindication and ego are more important than just admitting you may have got it wrong.
I don't think I need to name the player who I'm talking about.
It was good to hear Posto laid into the players at half time. I might suggest maybe he laid into them from the touchline during the first half after which we could have been 1-6.
I rated Posto a 7.5. He picked Gil ahead of Hojbjerg who settled things down authoritatively when he came on at the start of the second half albeit after a rusty start.
The playing out from the back caused us problems in the first half with no CBs and a pressing City that was dangerous and we were lucky City were wasteful and the woodwork got in the way.
I still rated Posto high but not as high and gushy as some.
