Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Oh fuck off...
Cheap option from a 1 team league - Scottish football lol
Well done Levy you penny pinching tight arsed charlatan of a chairman.
This will not end well

Frankly you do not know what you are talking about.

This is a quite magnificent manager we have here. As an Aussie I have followed his whole career. It's almost impossible to come from where Ange has to where he is now. Every player and person who has ever worked with him would crawl over broken glass for the guy. He is a footballing animal.

We'll play a 4-3-3 with a high press. He will give young players opportunities and he will attack at all costs. It will be great fun and if Daniel Levy stays the hell out of his way, Ange Postecoglou will prove every single skeptic wrong.

He's a great manager and an even better human being. You'll love him. The players will love him.

I’m glad to hear this, because even that turd Gerrard won the Scottish league.

I like the cut of his jib and he seems a very decent bloke, however, even the people claiming to row in behind him surely know deep down that this is not going to work out.

When is the last time a manager that was successful in Scotland has come down and done well in the Premier League? The only one you can genuinely say is Brendan Rodgers, who had Celtic playing just as well if not better than Ange, and no one wants to touch him with a barge pole… look at the state of the likes of Gerrard, Strachen, Neill Lennon etc when they came down to manage at even Championship level. Couldn’t hack it in the slightest. It’s just such an incomparable level.

It really is outright incredible that considering the candidates that were available this summer we have somehow landed on Postecoglou, but then again nothing about our ownership should ever surprise anyone anymore.

No, I don't know that at all actually.

I think it will be quite the opposite and this will be our new Pochettino. As has been said by a few others, there are plenty of opinions in here that are based on absolutely zero knowledge of the man or his methods.

Some people (not directed specifically at you) I think will look rather foolish by Christmas. But I do expect the wankers and simple idiots to death-ride the guy from the start which would be a shame.

Why exactly do we want that guy? Because of 0 wins in CL last season? Battering from Bodo/Glimt in ECL? Not getting out of EL group? Losing CL qualifications against Midtjylland? This guy's record in serious Europe games is a joke. And Scottish league is a joke. We are going to be a joke now. I had no expectations again, and this club let me down. Again.

For me, this seems like a smart appointment for the current situation of the club.

The reality is that we have a squad of very good players who have lost motivation and are underperforming. We don’t need yet another coach to come in and tell them all they are not good enough; then through them under the bus week in, week out during press conferences.

How do you think our squad felt who Poch labelled them as ‘old furniture’, when Mourinho called them shit and when Conte said it is not realistic to expect them to win.

Do Newcastle, Brighton, Villa, Brentford have been players than us? No, of course not. (I'd even argue that our squad is better than Arsenals). Did they perform better that us – Yes. Newcastle added a couple of players and an aspiring coach and went from relegation fodder to top 4.

Get the players to play a system that suits them, and give 100% every game and we will see us back in the top 4.

Sounds good , my concern is that we are very good at breaking managers

Two things I can tell you about Postecoglou:

1) He has never been sacked and has never been broken.
2) He will absolutely walk away the moment he feels the Chairman and the club do not fully back him. He will probably do us all a favour and chin Levy on the way out.

He is a top class project manager, He also wins stuff (yes I know he hasn't managed at the very top level but let's look at how Conte and Mourinho worked out) by playing attractive football. I just hope people get behind him and give him some space and time to sort out this shitshow of a squad.

That made me spit out my coffee 😂

So he’ll be gone by Sept ? Shame

I’ve no clue if Ange may or may not try to rehabilitate ndombele

But I think he’ll want a pretty good answer to … what the fuck have you been doing these last 3 years ?

I don’t think he’s gonna mention things getting a bit heavy studying for A levels

N'dombele's chances of a lifeline under Ange are directly indexed to how fat he is when he shows up for pre-season. If he presents as fit and having put in the work then he will be given his opportunty. If not, then it will be a very quick "fuck off" from Ange.

Bryan Gil on the other hand. I hope he isn't hell bent on forcing a permanent move back to Spain because he is absolutely 100% tailor made for Postecoglou.

Welcome...

Agree mate. No certs, but given the right resources I have a lot of faith in Ange.

That times article links is with a load of players as does the Mirror. It’s pretty obvious we will have to invest in the squad for the new man.

Tottenham will back incoming manager Ange Postecoglou with funds to rival Newcastle for Leicester's England midfielder James Maddison, 26, and target Brentford's Spain goalkeeper David Raya, 27, and Wolves' English defender Max Kilman, 26. (Mirror)
