There was an article in the Athletic a few months back that actually spoke to that. The gist was that the teams that win are the ones that have managers that play what it called "winning football" not that have managers that were focused on winning. It's a philosophy vs results model. You have the right philosophy and the results will follow. You focus only on results and you'll get frustrated more often than not.I'm glad we have a coach that has that mindset and not the mindset of some of those who want to win at any cost.
There are exceptions, like Conte and Jose, but the majority of winning managers play winning football.
