Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Our lack of finishing is a skill issue imo more than a management one, we need more clinical forwards, I don't think you can really teach that, it comes from natural ability a lot of the time.

Son has spurts of brilliance, Kulu also and some of our other forwards but it's not enough to just have spurts, the quality has to be there more often than not.

You look at the end of last season we wanted a majority of this squad out the door.

Ange has raised expectation incredibly high with his initial impetus but the mediocre squad is starting to revert to its mean.

The man needs to be backed

Yeah I really don't see a management or coaching issue at all, literally everything in our play was good until we got to that point which shows that coaching isn't the problem. You aren't going to make a player at this level more clinical.
Spot on, albeit I think he needs to tell the attacking trio to take more risks in the final third when we’re dominating games like that. We didn’t put enough speculative crosses into the box or try long range shots. We didn’t give ourselves the opportunity to get the lucky bounce that West Ham got IMO.

Having said all that the attacking issues look pretty clear to see. Son is going to be less effective against deeper defences with less space to run into, that much is obvious.

But if you look at the Villa and West Ham games, we’ve played wonderfully through the lines and worked the ball out wide numerous times to either Kulu or Johnson who really are facing their man up almost one one one. And invariably they come inside into the congested area or check back for an easy pass giving away the advantage.

If you compare that with (and I know it hurts) Woolwich, when they work the ball to Saka or Martinelli in similar situations, they both commit defenders, can go either way and generally make stuff happen.

That’s where we need to get better.

It wasn't the garbage that let us down, it was Udogie, and our front 3. Udogie is often far too casual, starting to remind me of the stuff I saw at Udinese, general looseness instead of pinpoint zipped passes.
started season really well but has had some real braindead moments recently. im not sure ive seen him cross the ball yet either, if you dont cross the ball at all the other teams arent ever going to be worried about it and you become extremely predictable as an attacking full back.

i think porro is the only player that will sometimes just drill it in the box, sometimes thats the correct play not everything has to be perfect. sometimes brute force is what does it like he did against liverpool. udogie gets into positions where he can just smash it low into the box and see what happens and he doesnt.

And that means Johnson is a massive dud, you can have Kulu be a shit scorer, cos he brings so much else, but Johnson doesn't. You can only have one non-scoring forward.

I hope to god I'm wrong cos we just committed 50m for this kid.

Oh fuck off. That's ridiculous.

Individual errors at both ends of the pitch have cost this team immensely. But we did go up first in each match.

The blame should fall on Levy for putting together such a thin squad with no real difference makers up front. Ange deserves a few windows at least.

Absolute bullshit.

Does Levy force him at gunpoint to play Kulusevski at RW and cut back 100% of the times, so every EPL player already knows that ?

Our attack has been shit for so many games, but Ange has done nothing to change it. But SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE.
I am not saying that Ange as manager has been found out. But this way of attacking obviously have. Always be prepared for cutbacks, pack the middle of the field and voilaa... you have 0 thing to worry about.

Today is 100% on Ange in 1st half we had all the possession. We moved the ball reasonably fast. But fuck me, if his instructions were to play backheel passes on border of West Ham box and just swing it from one wing to another, always letting West Ham get their lines in place... then you get what we got. ZERO clear cut chances from open play.

Aim of football team is to score more goals than opposition. But with that kind of slow pondering and jogging this will not happen.
He has to come up with REAL changes. If not, we have no option to get into top 6 not to mention top 4. Cannot be so one-dimesional.

To say there's no variation to our game is absolute bollocks though.

We've switched things up numerous times in games throughout the season. Most of the time, it's seen us win games, kill games off or turn games around.

Tonight it simply didn't work.
Tonight it didn’t?

ONE point in 15. ONE.

Terrible stuff. If this was Nuno, you’d all be frothing at the mouth.

But because Wee Ange tells our defenders to stand on the halfway line you want to give him time.

He’s out of his depth. Will be sacked next season.

That is the stupidest thing Ive read for very long time.

Of course you can make attack as a whole more clinical. If you actually take defenses by the storm and everyone in defense are spurting their lungs out to get back to their positions, their focus is very different than in situation when they have been standing and expecting your cross for past 30 seconds.

It is about gameplan to also at times use rapid and direct approach and unsettle defenses.
But today there were two options - either ALL THREE ATTACKERS blatantly ignored gaffer instructions every second they were on the pitch.... OR that the instructions given directed to invert every single chance and keep passing it through middle.

Your call what seems more logical from these options.

We were warned by the Celtic fans what type of ride we were in for in the first season.

He’s seriously hampered by our lack of squad depth and the fall off in quality from the first 11 to the back ups, and the injuries have only exacerbated that!
Difference is, we’re not playing St Mirren and Dundee every week.

I don’t give a shit what the Celtic fans say. They’d be lucky to survive in League One in England.
