So according to the Ange out brigade, we should have sacked Poch after the first season as well.

We had dodgy runs just as bad in Poch's first season.

What a fucking joke

Ange has work to do, but people are trying to write him off as some clown who has had a shit season when the facts are that he's over performed Poch's stats in his very first season.

there will be some Enic defenders with some seriously mixed emotions now.

They won't want to blame Ange and go Ange Out because he's just arrived so his appointment would be Levy's fault BUT... if they aren't Ange out then Levy needs to take the blame and they need to be Levy out.

Tough position tbf. I don't envy them.

Right time to put on the grown up trousers.....

Ange isn't going anywhere...... And neither should he.

We need to stick with him and see what can happen when you actually stick with a manager for a whole season and give him a couple of transfer windows to instigate his methods and his style.

The cold hard facts are that if we get four points from the next 4 games...... Ange's record for his first season in charge will be better than Poch's was in the first season not just his first season at Spurs...but his first season in the Premier League.

Everyone lauds Poch as one of our best managers ever and it looks like Ange will surpass Poch's points total in his first season.

There were plenty of bad patches in Poch's first season as well and many similar runs and there was definitely some iffy football and patches.

Poch had arguably a much stronger side and less competition than Ange has had.

Trust in Ange and see where it takes us....... Changing the manager again will be pointless until we've given Postecoglou a fair crack of the whip.
Yes.

I'm no enic defender

But I do believe in giving someone time and not throwing the toys out the pram at the first hint of trouble.

He may turn out brilliant and he may turn out rubbish - but I doubt there is another manager that we would get in that would have got us further up the table than he has.

He's got a lot of work to do - shit loads.

But he's the best manager for us at this point in time.

Surely its about momentum? We were inconsistant under Poch, had a terrible start to the season and a decent middle then it was win one draw one, lose one, levels of inconsistancy. But he'd weeded out the slackers, played a lot of youngsters and we looked fit and mostly organised. You could see things happening.

Ange had a great start and we've just got worse and worse. 36 pts from 24 games is the worst run we've had in the league since Poch got sacked. Its worse than AVB, Mourinho and Nuno. We look a disorganised rabble despite all the free weeks. If there were the odd sign, a great performance here and there, some clean sheets, some excitement then yes. But take out the 2nd half against Villa and look at our 2024 so far.
Exactly

As if a solid six players wasn't enough for you.

And Eric Dier had a very strong start to his career....with Dele waiting in the wings and Son coming in shortly afterward

Most of the six solid players are a lot of hindsight doing overtime. The squad was considered incredibly weak when Pochettino came in, what he certainly didn't get was his pick of a 45 million quid winger or midfielder.

Now admittedly there's talent on that list, Pochettino didn't conjure it up. But he had to do a lot of working with what he had and a lot of moulding. The likes of Bentaleb, Naughton and Mason had to be utilised to fill gaps due to this, we've got a lot more financial power now than we did when Poch was here.

The key difference between Ange's first season and Pochettino's first season is development though. Under Poch we were getting better as the season went on. We had that watershed moment of the 5-2 win over Chelsea, integrated players got better, we made a cup final etc.

Ange's season started brilliantly, and we've sloped downhill since. Very few positives, no cup run, no big win. So it feels different even if the points tally is very similar.

We've been poor since game week 10 and he hasn't shown that he knows how to adapt his tactics now that every man and his dog knows how to counter us.

I don't disagree

But the people thinking we have a world class squad at the moment are delusional.

Now we will see what he is made of.

Needs to know what he needs for next season, and to addtess the weaknesses.

And that is as much about the right type of player as it is about anything else.

And of course there is no price on confidence.

I'm not an ENIC defender. I'm ENIC OUT and Ange IN.

I want a lot of these players out the door. Also think that we need to clear out loads of staff too.

This x infinity. Son aside, what star quality do we actually still have ? Just mid price chuff from teams lower than us to begin with. Fair enough if you want to scout lower priced and better value, but explain how you end up paying £10m more for Johnson than Cole Palmer ?
Call me cynical, but at a guess the finances of the deal suited Tottenham a lot better due to Forest being skint and at risk from FFP.

For sure.

5th place on paper sounds fine for where this squad is at. Objectively he's not done badly as a coach to be there.

But you want to be progressing forwards, not headed towards the end of the season with a depressed looking coach probably facing down four league losses in a row. The team seems to have given up at the moment so no surprise that the fans have as well.
