Porro - Romero - VDV - Udogie

You have to wonder what Tuchel, Emery, Nagelsmann or any tactical coach could do with this defense.

Ange just ships goals in left and right, 2 per game and 22 from set pieces or whatever the number is now up to.

No manager can survive losing every week. That’s the reality.

Principles are all well and good and the best managers are stubborn just like Ange, but winning games is still the most important thing.

We are finding it extremely difficult to beat even the bottom feeder teams, it shouldn’t be this hard. Even in the stuttering early days of Klopp/Arteta/Pep, they had plenty of routine wins and clean sheets. We are having to sweat blood till the last second just to beat Luton at home and we let literally everybody score easy goals against us. If it doesn’t change then it will only end one way. We are supposed to get better as time goes on, not worse.

Chavs ain’t bottom feeders but that aside there isnt a solution at this club that involves constantly sacking managers particularly if you get a system manager that peaks in season 2-3.

We are effectively asking for a manager to play attacking football, also be a pragmatist, get the best out of players perhaps mentally not upto the job. We are basically asking for Alex Ferguson. We broke Conte and Poch. We need to make ourselves a club that isn’t so insanely difficult to manage first. Additionally there isn’t much in the way of alternatives to Ange right now, not that we could get anyway.

Would they have even had the balls to play Porro and Udogie in the same back 4?

Not one person on this forum thought we could make it work with Porro and Udogie at the same time but Porro miraculously became a defender this season despite being a wingback all his career. He’s gone on to be one of the best RBs in the league

I think that’s all fair, we are not an easy club to manage. He needs to be given some time.

But Ange is not special, keep losing games and he will get the sack. Especially when the performances are as bad as they are.

I always found it a bit off putting at the start of the season how arrogant and how much he played it up for the media like he had already won the league 10 games in and kept quoting how he’s “won everywhere iv been mate”

The turning point was when he started waggling his arse at Liverpool when Klopp announced his departure.

Not for me thanks

If we don't win again this season, will he even get the next one?

Imagine losing 7 on the bounce, with both United and Newcastle overtaking us. Which we all thought (or hoped) wouldn't happen four games ago.

He can do as he wishes re: City, which we must lose and Liverpool where we will lose.

Got to ensure we beat Burnley and Sheffield United. Neither will be the slightest bit easy.

Then onto next season. He has to be clear on the weaknesses, some of which ay at his own door.

And Postecoglou teeters on the edge if we finish lower than 6th, which is actually possible.

It's fallen completely off a cliff for him and us.

Perfect post. Incomprehensible club but not one that can post the kind of sh!t of much of the last 3 months.

As I say it's worse when you consider how we put Villa to the sword.

So it's not a complete overhaul that is needed but even more, it's understanding the kind of squad balance that is critical.

And then training them accordingly.

ange is in his 50's has coached the same way all the time, Do any of you think that he will change ?
even if you think set plays aren't important after letting in 14 goals from set pieces why would you make a poimt of saying set pieces don't matter (that is just mad, dont say anything about them to the press)

so it was like everybody knew but everybody hope it would not be
the start was like the new players dident know that some thing his worng at the spurs work place(i feel we are cursed)
(Australia national teamThe witch doctor buried bones near the goal-posts and cursed the opposition, and Australia went on to beat Rhodesia 3–1 in the decider. However, the move backfired when the players could not come up with the £1000 demanded by the witch doctor as payment, so he cursed their team instead.)

If the players feel they have the luxury to stop believing in the football during a season then they are shit losers and we need to boo them out of this club.

I’m fucking sick of players always being the excuse to sack another manager. They are the ones not performing
you do realise that had we been semi competent at defending set pieces we would have picked up 4 points in the last 2 games right?

How can every player lose form at the same time? you don't think it's a bit coincidental that every single central midfielder has gone to shit, that both full backs have gone to shit, that all the front 3 have gone to shit ALL AT THE SAME TIME (the only saving grace is the 2 centre backs and even their form has dipped). Not to mention the goalkeeper not getting support for the weakest aspect of his game.

I've never seen it where a whole fucking team just lose form at the same time. Even in our bad period we've had 3 or so players looking very good in a shower of shit team. It's definitely not the players this time.

The added problem is we will now have a board and football recruitment side that is likely having doubts themselves so it will be half hearted backing in the summer with Ange likely getting the arse. Then how long if this carries on into next season, 5 games? 10? Why does he get or deserve more of a run than many others before him?

Even a few days ago i thought it was too early but i fully expected some sort of reaction or performance against our 2 biggest rivals. We lost the NL derby in 38 minutes and to a mediocre Chelsea side with 14 players out. The performances have been brutally bad and we've been getting worse for months. There are no performances that make you think things will improve anytime soon.

Even if you are Ange out it changes nothing, we have had 2 world class managers here who failed to achieve a trophy, the best we can hope for now is that we get lucky with some Transfers in the summer and Ange proves that the start of the season wasn't a Fluke and we reproduce that form next season!
To give Ange credit I think with the right players his system works - Look how many chances we had against the goons! We also don't seem to concede many from open play, Change the manager now and we start again and then how long do we give the new guy?
Its just a shame that a massive club like Spurs have to hope they get lucky with some transfers to be able to compete!

That basically dooms us to permanent 6-18 months manager cycles. We will never build anything.
Probably only one period I can remember during Poch when our team had good mentality, at a pinch a short period under Conte.

The mentality at the top of this football club stinks of shit, greed and complacency.
It seeps down and infects everything from the boardroom to the training ground. There is no desire to win where it matters to the fans, only where it matters to ENIC. £££
Every manager Levy has employed has hinted at it, and Conte had the balls to say it outright while still in his post.

A Legend for that alone. .:contepoint:

So brave!

We've conceded 54 goals in 34 games. If those are the stats with the "best rb in the league" I don't want to see them with Emerson...

Saying "made it work" is totally delusional. There's nothing brave about it. It's just stupid. Our defence is horrific and we've only conceded five fewer goals than Chelsea and there is absolutely nothing working in terms of defending right now.
