Porro - a converted RWB signed for a completely different system and manager.
Romero - fair enough.
VDV - a young CB who has only really had one season at the top level prior to this.
Udogie - a converted LWB that has rarely (if ever?) played in a conventional back 4 prior to this season?
We don’t play a conventional back 4. His further forward than if he was a LWB.

The alarm bells were ringing for me after the Chelsea home defeat where I stated it was pure madness to play a high line with 9 men (and Dier at CB) and showed a level of stubbornnes as he wasn't willing/able to deviate from his favoured tactic. I didn't think any other manager in world football would have continued to adopt that tactic in that situation and I stand by that.

I find him an extremely arrogant man who gets away with it by using humour to mask the arrogance so it's not as noticeable. The mask is slipping with that though in his post match interviews.

In regards to his managerial style it's just not sustainable. It can work initially but once teams are aware of the tactic and adapt then its extremely easy to counter. His assistance to continuously play the EXTREMLEY high line, to insist on both wingers going on the outside, to not change the midfield situation and maybe abandon the '10' position when we are consistently under pressure, to insist on the full backs being midfielders thus leaving holes galore...it just doesn't resemble a manager of premier league standard.

The final straw for me is his responses to defending set pieces. He first came out with the quote stating he leaves it to Ryan Mason and Jedinak and doesn't believe in specialist coaches for set pieces (which imo is wrong being that neither have the credentials to organise set pieces defending/attacking) but he is allowed this opinion. Then in a post match interview he made a point to congratulate Mason for us scoring from a set piece and spoke about the work done in training in regards to attacking set pieces (he actually started congratulating him during the goal and started pointing at him). As soon the world realised we were absolutely awful defending them he adopted a very defensive approach and decided to downplay the importance of set pieces (well defending them anyway).

Things is he won't ever change it and suddenly decide to hire a specialist set piece coach and will continue with Mason and Jedinak because his too stubborn and arrogant to concede he got it wrong.
Totally agree! Even the dippers held us out with 9 men we had no clue. Until a shambolic OG. Chans had no idea as well but we gave them ample training runs to perfect it.

Honest question... Had we somehow got Klopp from Dortmund in 2015, do you think he'd have still been here, having won the lot with Spurs?

Course not... We'd have broken him after 18 months... Just like we'd have broken Pep, Ancelotti, Carlos Alberto and SAF...

Thank fuck Bill Bic wasn't born 60 years later... as we'd have probably broken him too!!

Chavs ain’t bottom feeders but that aside there isnt a solution at this club that involves constantly sacking managers particularly if you get a system manager that peaks in season 2-3.

We are effectively asking for a manager to play attacking football, also be a pragmatist, get the best out of players perhaps mentally not upto the job. We are basically asking for Alex Ferguson. We broke Conte and Poch. We need to make ourselves a club that isn’t so insanely difficult to manage first. Additionally there isn’t much in the way of alternatives to Ange right now, not that we could get anyway.
Emery seems to be doing it better than Ange atm?

He can do as he wishes re: City, which we must lose and Liverpool where we will lose.

Got to ensure we beat Burnley and Sheffield United. Neither will be the slightest bit easy.

Then onto next season. He has to be clear on the weaknesses, some of which ay at his own door.

And Postecoglou teeters on the edge if we finish lower than 6th, which is actually possible.

It's fallen completely off a cliff for him and us.
Why won’t beating Burnley and SUbbe easy? They just both got thumped today. Are you say that this special manager we have cannot put out a team motivated enough to beat those two?

Although i'm as disappointed as anyone by our form lately, i think we need perspective.

We're not losing every week, we are 5th in the PL, the best league in the world.

And we have had a freak of a season. With almost all of our best players out with long term injury's. And everyone bar Micky hasen't returned from injury's on the same form they had before.

And with so many players out for long periods, some of our guys have had to play a serious amount of games this season. Look at Sarr, how many games has he played this season? And he's just a lad.

I think a lot of our players are absolutely knackered! I think it shows! And they have also had to adapt to Ange's system, which demands top physics.

As i've said on numerous occasions, and when it happened. That first Chelsea game killed our season. We haven't been able to get back after that. And now we look absolutely knackered at the moment.

So Ange shouldn't go anywhere, he should be totally backed.
Are you for real ! Knackered! Heaven for bid if they have to play two games a week. Its views like this that ensure we will continue like this for ever. Ffs!

I don’t think Ange disagrees that set pieces are a problem, they clearly are. He just doesn’t want it to define the team and become a mental block (which it already has).

We just have much bigger problems. Having 70% of the ball and being unable to threaten the goal is far more concerning than the way we defend set pieces.
Well that’s down to him to solve and not buy players like Johnson!

The most important thing to remember in all of this is the club made £550m last financial year so it doesnt matter who the manager is.

Theres about 120m available to spend, plus sales in the summer. So the club will gradually get stronger whether Ange is here or not.

Weve also got rid of alot of big earners. Kane, Dier, Lloris, Perisic. Thats the best part of a million a week in wages. So I'd expect alot of money to be spent this summer.

Ok, Timothy, let me get this straight. I come on here to contribute to the discussion of Angie becoming your new manager, and then some of your own cunts bring in your called 'political nonesense' which I had originally no fuckigng interest in.

And you, rather than get on the cunts backs who started it, get on on mine while totally ignoring pricks like the Celtic supporting nicolaeson.

Wanker!
Oh so you can speak English, your original drivel just for show was it?

Levy backed Poch after the CL final. How did that work out?

We have the 4th biggest net spend over the past 5 years.

It’s important we speak about facts
The figures in the article is possibly correct but misleading hence your conclusion. Levy won't buy 29 year old experienced player because they have no re-sale value. Levy wants to buy young players in their early 20s because he thinks they will have a higher re sale value. This thinking is right for a business trader or wheeler dealer BUT won't work in football if you want to be top and win trophies.
We've signed shit load of players, majority young with no experience from Johnson, Kulu, Bent,Dier, Njie, Nkoudo, Jannsen to Vicario, Porro, Asly Philips, Rodon, spence. Ryan Gil, Foyth to Jack clarck, Sessignon, Sissoko, Sergio Aurier to name few. Levy paid huge money on transfers, sometime £30m plus on one player but they were useless either sold, loaned or written off. Even Danny Rose had to google them if you remember lol.
It's money badly spent, Levy thinks he is clever, any half able person can do the same at Spurs BECAUSE shit load of money the club makes in the EPL. In fact, so much is wasted by Levy.
The bottom line is buy once buy well. We can't stop clearing dead wood.
