Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Would Ange have dared be so vocally full-on about this if we were Celtic, and Rangers were the ones who would be handed the title?
another good post from you (you're on a roll).

Ange clearly doesn't get it and he's proven it.

* Comments prior to gooner scum game was that its just another game.

* Ange message to spurs fans on eve of the NLD that the club actually decided to tweet out:
"Setbacks are part of our growth as a team. Sometimes that growth can be painful and you have to embrace it and prepare for the next challenge".

* him laughing when a journalist says 50% of spurs fans want us to lose.

* him talking about not lying down and red carpet which he should have said prior to Woolwich...but nah 'mate' he doesn't.

* him telling the other reporter 'charlie' that he needs counselling because he mentioned social media when his own player not even a month or so back came out publically stating counselling saved his life.

Ange is completely right in saying what he did.

No manager should sit in a pre game press conference and say "of course we are going to throw it to screw over another team." Then he'll get accussed of match fixing and his name is thrown into repute for that.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I think everyone understands that. But instead of keeping it short and sweet he started digging into the subject, mocking the journalists and almost trying to teach people what what football rivalry or sport means.
I didn't like it personally.
May be he got a bit nervous and didn't know which way to spin it, previously his doubling down and cheeky mocking of journalists questions worked fine but this time he misfired a bit.

More on edge anout tonight than the CL final 5 years ago. Unreal.

This is why the fanbase are on edge and picking apart everything he says, it's mental.

Ironically he'll win himself a lot of trust back with those very same fans the fans if we lose this match tonight.

We just need to get this game out the way, feels like the outcome of our whole season is resting on this 1 match TBH.

"we will do our best to get a result" would suffice and nobody would find anything wrong in that.

No need to dispute that half the spurs fans want us to lose, no need to make condescending remarks to a reporter about counselling (and the reporters point was actually correct), no need to downplay the fans perspective in regards to rivarlies, no need to state bragging rights is "meaningless", no need to state "he's not really fussed and he doesn't care" how people feel.

I think for better and worse he's ours for 2 or 3 more seasons. People overestimate the market for him. I think he's reasonably well regarded but this season, especially the way it is ending, is hardly making the case that he's ready for a bigger club. Jury is still out of his system.
No way on earth will he be kept for worse.
As soon as Levy see's we're going backwards, he's gone. Levy isn't here to build a long term plan. He just needs us in and around the top 4. He'll have no appetite for relegation battles or relegation.

Obviously

Didn’t say how he thought the fans should feel. As always he’s said fans can feel however they want but a professional team with ambition to win things can only approach a game in one way.

Well, I am too quite pissed about Ange comments. Not for the reason that some others I assume, but still. And quite possibly I feel like that cause of the shit standing we are at.

I FULLY understand that manager wants win all games. And I would not expect him to come out and say we are in it to lose it. Absolutely not. You COULD say for example something like "Ah yea, well I can understand the complex feelings fans might have for this kind of a game. But rest assured, we are only focused on our result and putting us in the best possible situation. As a manager, I aim to win games, this what gets me up in the morning and this is what I'm paid to do." - absolutely nothing wrong with saying that.

But you don't have to say every idea and comparison that comes to mind. WTF is the shit about needing counselling ?!?! COUNSELLING ?!? Maybe stop giving us traumas, teach something to lads with FREE 14 days before NLD, instead of totally embarrasing ourselves at such rivalry on our home turf. How about that? If Ange would have done any kind of normal job prepearing the team, Scumshit would be currently two points below City and there would be no such dilemma to start with. How about that?

Some fucking looks to the mirror would be in place instead of talking down to fans about needing counselling. Should be much more humble after overseeing shittiest spell of results in past 20 years.

I'm interested, did you watch the press conference for context or just get angry after reading a few cut up excerpts?

More than just this season. Postecoglou has to absolutely see that anything but a loss tonight is an even bigger loss for him..

No way he survives if we are the ones who allow that lot to win the league. Simply all but impossible.

And ultimately it's on the players to know how much energy and effort they put in. Not too much is the answer.

One point needed this season and that needs to come om the 19th.

Instead of question the journalists from asking such provocative questions in EVERY SINGLE FUCKING PRESSERS, fans are slaughtering Ange for his responses which were quite obviously direct snides to these disrespectful media people instead to our club.

The media always win in dividing us. ALWAYS. FFS.
