If I was the chairman Id be doing my utmost to be tapping up Xabi Alonso and his team right now

Genuinely a top quality young manager that knows the game properly. Not some pseudo coach.

Massive ask to pry him from leverkusen

And i dont care about the Liverpool links, its irrelevant

Ha we are talking about a generational manager here.

You're a teeny bit deluded if you think we can attract Xabi Alonso mate.

I mean, I agree with you that we are not average, if by average we mean 10th in the league.
But i just don't think we are good enough , squad wise, to complete with the likes of Liverpool, Woolwich or Man City.

For us to become a winning machine that wins game after game (which is what you need to be to win the league), we need better players. A new coach won't magically do the trick, since they will find themselves with the same limits and squad problems.
But we could have had better players in the last two years. We decided to spend money on average players ( rich , Johnson , kulu, may be even sold me but let’s see) and young kids. Most of who never play and we send out loan (veliz, Phillips, etc). We could have got some great players for all the money we have spent. Like has been said those forwards I just listed cost over £200M. Let that sink in and none would get into any of our rivals teams.

You're actually spot on , To Dare is To Do and all that. We should be aiming to be the best in the land, not settling for mediocrity. But you're dealing with a man that has parts of our fanbase believing we're just a slightly bigger Palace, that we should be grateful we're not Oldham or Grimsby, that we should be happy to pay elite ticket prices but not see a elite football team in return.

Alonso has ties with three massive clubs, but try at least, sell the project, big us up. London is a far better city than Madrid or Munich or, haha, Liverpool. We can pay top dollar, succeed at our club and he'll become a legend, at those other clubs a mere footnote in their history.

But no, we're little old Spurs. Should stop singing "Stand up if you hate Woolwich" and sing "Stand up if you hate Barnet" instead.

Done a LOT of talking.
I see this has been irking quite a few saying he has talked so much bull and needs to prove his words. Honestly he talked alot is because he speaks perfectly understandable English and is humble. Many will like to interview him and hence we saw so many of the conversations coming from him. Did you ever see people like to interview Poch, Mourinho or Conte to ask them about his ideas, childhood, beliefs etc in their broken or arrogant language?

Cut out all those interviews, all we will ever hear from Ange has been telling us the fans since day one in his aim for the club and the difficulty in achieveing that in the process. How about we just focus more on this sole objective all along and view this entire 1 year he has been here with regards to personnel recruitment, restructuring, style of play etc in this context?

Here you are belittling our football club again.

You talk about how this chairman doesn't push the boat out, how he holds the club back, how ENIC's priority isn't football, how we will never win under this lot, how we will never close the gap etc...yet you think we would be able to go out and get a generational coach like Xabi Alonso and would choose us over Real Madrid and you call this me belittling the club?

You utterly stupid man with an agenda, your agenda reeks so much you can't even keep track of how stupid and illogical your own arguments actually are.

Granted, although he took over when they were already in a semi final which obviously helps. The following season he was knocked out in the 4th round.

But fair enough, a trophy is a trophy. However, there's no denying that he benefited from a degree of good fortune, like playing a final where the opponent goes down to ten men...
Ramos won the league cup with Jols team and we got steadily worse thereon.
A cup shortly after arriving isn't really an indicator that a coach is better than his predecessor.

And I thought Scottish forums were mad...

Given the resources made available Ange has done a brilliant job, but sure... cut him down and move on to some mediocrity who'll (with the same resources) take Spurs back to mid-table.

Honestly, I cannot recommend using the ignore button highly enough.

It’s saved my sanity, and saved me having to wade through pages of utter nonsense

Ange has done a brilliant job
I thought he did well for his first season finishing 5th in the PL, I wouldn't go as far as saying he's been brilliant.

For example when our FBs are up the pitch in attacking roles, and need to run back to defend a turnover of possession, the FBs are often running back from being central, which means the CBs often have to cover wide areas, and then swap positions back with the FBs when they finally recover.

It causes a muddle.

We finished 4th under Conte, multiple Top 4 finished under Poch, heck even 'Arry managed it twice.

Ange is far from the messiah, indeed after a very bright start we've only gotten worse. This isn't Scotland 'mate', it's a proper league and he's up against some top class managers.
