Last night they played a team that were motivated, on Sunday they played a terrible City side. If the latter carries on the way they are, they'll drop out of the top 6 this season. They were walking around the pitch half the time.
Kyle Walker, one of the best and fastest RB's in the world was humbled by Timo fcuking Werner.
And still people see City shirts and think that result was some kind of statement.
City result , I didn't get carried away with it because I knew with this club what would happen next.

He says really odd things that are quite frankly both hypocritical and baffling.

He's said numerous times that his main objective is to instill a winning mentality, how winning is the priority, that winning is what matters.

Now when he's asked a question directly about winning he focuses more on the style aspect and makes winning the secondary objective. He says he'd rather we are fun to watch and "exciting" rather then scrapping 1-0 wins. Yesterday we were deemed to be "exciting" but we drew, is that better then a dull 1-0 win with a Sonny pen being the winning goal for him?
When we win he says it's all about winning.
When we don't win, it's all about the positives and winning isn't everything.

Yes.

We are basically at 2019 Poch. Entertaining but inconsistent. Which is better than being dull as fuck and inconsistent which we have been since 2019 - and I say that as someone who was over the moon to land Conte.

Thing is young squads can learn consistency. So there's that
We're nowhere near that good. Unless you mean 19/20

Yes obviously I mean 19/20 Poch

Edit: "obviously" in that Poch was sacked in 2019.

But the away form back end of 2018/19 was as inconsistent as we are now.
That's actually quite a damning indictment tbh. Poch had checked out and was coasting by then. The team had been in decline since we lost Dembele.

OMG, why did I do that to myself. I miss Dembele

Do you believe this current squad is as good as any Poch squad post 2014?
It's hard to tell. Johnson is starting to look Dele-esq to me. Deki is starting to look on a par with Eriksen.
Vicario is no worse than Lloris really. Neither were/are great under pressure.
At their very best Romero and VDV are/could be as good as Toby & Jan
If Porro and Udogie were 80% of Walker and Rose then they're both doing well.
Sprinkle in Madison, Bissouma, Bentancur.
I just never feel the team looks as well coached or motivated.

It's not a damning indictment of Postecoglou who, like Poch, is overseeing a complete overhaul of the playing list. You expect inconsistency when that happens unless you're buying ready made world class champions which, obviously, we aren't.

LMFAO

You saw a carefully chosen selection of 1-3 second clips of a 58 year old man with health issues unloading. stitched together to make it look like he could still hold his own in a fight.

In a controlled ring fight, the only chance he stood was a one punch knock out in the opening seconds. Same as any heavyweight really.
If Tyson fought like he sparred, he’d knock Paul out in 5 seconds. Wake up 🤦‍♂️. It was rigged. Now let’s not derail the thread.

Fair dinkum. Seriously? I’ve never heard Ange say style is more important than winning. 🤦‍♂️ you guys need to stop looking for excuses to sack him. Yes, he wants to entertain. And yes he wants to win. What’s wrong with trying to do both? As you all here say historically Spurs trophies and titles are average. So how about have a crack, play entertaining football WHILE trying to win. I mean you guys will find fault with Mother Theresa 😜

As a whole and what is being asked of them I'd have to say no! Individually I'd say yes!

Really? You genuinely believe that BJ Solanke and old Son are as good as Dele, Kane and prime Son?

Biss, and Madders better than Dembele Eriksen?

The back four? Really?

I don't. But I believe the direction of travel is good - better than it has been for 6 years certainly.

Currently We have a decent squad, no more than that imo, but what is being asked of them by AP is beyond most of their capabilities, particularly at the consistent pace of play. Love the idea on paper but you have to cut your cloth accordingly.

in the final quarter of the game our midfield was being overrun and we needed to regain control. Bringing on Bergval didn’t make sense. He lost the ball almost every time he got it. I would have kept Bentancur and had Bissouma as an extra holding midfielder. And at 60 minutes not later.
Bentancur's yellow card kind of forced Ange's hand. He's already suspended for domestic games so we can't afford to lose him for the Rangers game.

When stacking the players up side by side (I know that's what you asked) I'd have to concede and agree you are probably right. My thoughts are driven by how we are playing at the moment under AP's "style/philosophy" and I think the current crop would produce better displays, individually and otherwise if AP tempered his approach.
