It's so weird that you can't see that these comparisons are made in direct response to those who dismiss the idea of entertainment being part of football and indeed Anges stated aim to play entertaining football.
I don’t think I’ve seen a post where someone has said entertainment isn’t a part of football. So no one’s dismissed anything, but I’m happy for you to show me where someone says that if I’ve missed it.
All I’ve seen is numerous people say it isn’t the ONLY thing that matters, people want to be entertained of course, but I think what people are trying to say to you and certainly how I’ve understood what I’ve read is that you can do BOTH. You can play entertaining football without it being a 50/50 could go either way toss up each week, and you can also set up and play in ways where you entertain but also show a bit of nous in terms of shutting up shop, closing out the final minutes and getting over the line.
In short, you can be an entertaining team and get consistent results with a bit of sense, or you can be an entertaining team who are fun to watch, but will never bring you anything tangible home because the main focus is on people having fun watching you even if that means winning half your games and being up and down like a yoyo.
The point I was making in the original post which you’ve missed is you can make changes to Anges style, without it automatically being Mourinho/Conte. There’s a whole spectrum between.
Ange is using us as some sort of experiment to see if all out attack and ignoring defending could work in the Premier League. The amount of space we leave out wide on both wings is shocking and embarrassing. The lack of leadership when we lose control of a game where we are incapable of keeping the ball and the total panic at set pieces is horrific. We do play some great football at times but overall we are a disorganised shambles and Ange has to take responsibility.
He's not an Ex-Chelsea coach, which, IMO, is a very large part of why so many fans hated Mourinho and Conte.

I was certainly far more entertained by our ruthless run under Conte when we smashed everyone every week rather flip a coin as to whether we'd even show up.
I genuinely don't believe football is as black and white as entertaining/not entertaining. A single game can be one or the other, but a team over a season will always swing from one to the other.

Still way off peak poch imo under Ange. Showing glimpses though. Peak poch the game was done by half-time or knew we would win somehow. Were still in 4 competitions. Reasonably happy so far.
People keep saying this. Like, other that the league cup we’d have to have done something pretty fucking abysmal to not be in the other competitions.
We’re definitely out of the premier league race anyway so how are we in that competition? Unless it means being still in the top 4 race.
We’re out the top 8 of Europa. Unless we lost to teams like Ferencavros we wouldn’t have been ‘out’ of that competition yet.
Brighton this season was hugely entertaining for a neutral. Personally i'd rather have seen some game management and take the 2-0 win in a dull second half. yep. far more entertained watching us beat someone 2-0 and look solid while not giving them a sniff over a 4-3 rollercoaster that could of gone either way. you feel far more positive going forward after the 2-0 solid display too.

This is true tbf. We lost to Burnley then won at the Etihad.
I think after that though towards the end of the first season we went on some incredible run that we haven’t really seen since, MAYBE other than at the start with Ange?
It feels like that run was the most consistent and ‘together’ we’ve felt since Poch anyway.
