Were better under Ange than we were under jose, conte and nuno. The first two were a complete waste of time and turned the club toxic. Nuno was 8th choice and were a club way to big for him. Ange is not peak poch yet but slowly but surely getting there. If were top 4 xmas, in carabao semi and qualified in europa have to be happy with that. Also like way ange handles media and no question isnt afraid to give players hairdryer treatment.

I doubt we'll be any of those things but even if we achieved all of them I guarantee the usual suspects would NOT be "happy" with it :D

The lack of nuance on either side of this fence is hillarous. All sound like complete wacked out fundamentalist. All hail the messiah! Heretic!!!

I don’t feel as there’s a lot of nuance to the discussion. Angie isn’t good and he isn’t terrible. He’s bang average in every way, and is level with Jose and Conte and Nuno in results delivered. The best we’ve ever shown under him, as under the others, is maddeningly random effort and performances.

lol - even when we finished 4th under Conte we were an inconsistent mess. How can you have forgotten so quickly? Conte used to go absolutely mental about it :roflmao:

Yes that ru n and Anges first 10 games.

I know you can't choose your allies in this argument but the complete fantasists you are surrounded with on the Ange Out debate must drive you crazy :D

Those first 10 games under Ange are even more of an exception than that run under Conte.
We haven't come close to replicating it. Since that run ended, we have won 3 league games on the bounce once and 2 on the bounce twice.
We are fucking woefully inconsistent.

Top under Jose and.when we were I was arguing with a diffrent lot of fans ( and boy did Mourinho have some odd ones) that the football was unsustainable and we would end up slap bang in the middle. What's funny it's the same odd nationalists taking some odd reflected glory in a strangers work. They used to be Portuguese now they are Australian. Zero intrest in Spurs.

The fact you think Jake Paul is competent at boxing tells me everything I need to know about you. Going forth your opinions are moot.

Uh he is. Even Hearn said he’s competent. He’s not good but he has spent years doing it with very good trainers. He’s alright.

It wasn’t rigged, Tyson is just about 30 years past his peak with numerous health issues.

Its about time we had a manager who took on the media and had authority with players. Was only a kid but burkinshaw had authority. Way before my time but nicholson had authority and players adored him. Still in all 4 competitions but the busness end of the season counts.

It's not a damning indictment of Postecoglou who, like Poch, is overseeing a complete overhaul of the playing list. You expect inconsistency when that happens unless you're buying ready made world class champions which, obviously, we aren't.
This is Ange's 2nd year...Poch's 2nd year was the Leicester year where we were not dogged by inconsistent 1 up 1 down performances and results. I would not expect this level of inconsistency in a manager's 2nd year...I would expect clear and naked-eye level improvement. We had that back then and we don't have it now...and we hadn't purchased 'ready made world class champions'.

I mostly agree with you but I think you are misremembering the first 3 months of that second season where we'd had a very similar up and down start and crashed out of the league cup to the scum.

From about November we put it all together - particularly in defence as that back four gelled into something special.

I hope that Ange can do something similar but I don't have that much faith.

But I hope because, you know, I like to support manager and team until it's obvious it's not going to work. And having just smashed City at their own gaff I think it's fair to give that support as things stand

Not misremembering...that was around the first time Poch brought up not being concerned because we were creating chances even though we weren't putting them away...it was draws that did us in during those early months not losses mostly because we could DEFEND...and HK's early season lull.

No evidence right now to suggest we are even close to being on the same course...

Fair enough...perhaps our thresholds for obviousness differ...mine was passed sometime last season but more than happy to give him the year so that there will be no doubt the course of action.
