Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I still think its very likely Ange finishes this season regardless of results. The obvious successors are
Andoni Iraola and Thomas Frank and both would be very expensive to bring in mid season. Levy just won't do it. All his mid season appointments (even Mourinho and Conte) were always free agents. He doesn't tend to pay fees to get managers so I can't see him doing that now. I also don't see the point in doing another "Ryan Mason until May" fiasco. It makes sense to give Ange the season regardless of everything going on. Then if the season ends in failure, he will be gone in May and the club will go all out to get Andoni Iraola. That would be my assumption.

So in the meantime, I'm still backing the team and just hoping Ange can turn this slump around even though I've serious doubts now. But there is no alternative in the near future. I can't see Levy doing what United did and paying 10-15m for buy a manager out on contract, unless he goes for a free agent like Potter! I think he gets the season and then reassess in May.

Don't come shouting at me. I'm just breaking down the logic and facts around it and that is the most likely scenario whether you want to believe it or not

Yep, he’s the one as Robbie Williams nearly sang.

If he is willing to come mid season then sack Ange asap. If he won’t come until the summer then keep Ange until then unless it gets so bad we have to switch to Mason.

Iraola gives me young Poch vibes
Agree mate. Can't see Levy paying the price to get him mid season so I imagine the idea is Ange until May regardless. Surely we don't do the Ryan Mason thing again. It'll have to reach rock bottom to go there

" “The public can’t be kidded. They know what they want to see, what is good and what is bad and what is just average. At least I believe they do.”

Don't see Levy doing it mate. He'll view that as an expensive gamble. He'd rather wait till Summer and Bournemouth prob let him go for close to nothing in Summer but to get him mid season they'd want a big fee
Sorry to dissapoint you but Ange isnt getting to May. The team is being booed off most weeks, they've started on Levy and we're 10th with Chelsea and Liverpool 2 of our next 3 league games. We've already hit the untenable phase.

No idea what Levy will do, quite probably cheap out again, but he acts when things get uncomfortable. Always has.

stupid enough to accept millions of pounds and if 'sacked' paid out what's so bad about that? move onto the next one?

For you and I , absolutely but these managers have egos the size of Jupiter . Failure is not an option .

I doubt you could be a manager if your only drive was £ & thinking about the pay off when you get sacked

And remember, Ten Hag won two cups.

As a fanbase, we have insanely low expectations.
His first season was quite a success. LC win, FA cup runner-up, QF of Europa League, 3rd in the league. That's how he earned that credit in the bank that kept him in the job during the entirety of his calamitous second season (last season that is) . Even then, like I said, overwhelming majority of their fans and football fans in general realized that he was not up to the job. Then he fluked a cup win and earned a couple of more months until he eventually got sacked.

All the "credit" Ange has in the bank comes from a small 10 game sample. It has been pure mediocrity since then. Like you said, the standards must be on the floor for him to continue to be evaluated based on that hot start. And I don't even think many of his advocates even stand up for him anymore. They're just taking the "but who will replace him??" route. Valid concern, but cannot really be used in defense of him.

His brand of football (whatever that means) is extremely demanding of players. Mentally, physically and technically. In that sense, I consider him a chequebook manager. Give him a deep, talented squad of players that are vastly superior to their opponents, and he will bulldoze his way through competitions. The issue is, if this club operated like that he wouldn't be anywhere near the job. He was brought in precisely because we need managers that can make us punch above our weights. And it's beyond clear he's not that guy. So no reason to keep him

I feel he has been hung out to dry by Levy like all the managers before him . Levy out chants will grow , Ange will get fired , we limp on with a caretaker . We get turned down by our first 567 choices , we appoint someone who is doomed to failure , Levy releases another cringe video that makes everyone puke .

Anyone seen this movie before

By the way - we need a new captain. Where is he when the things get tough? Invisible.

The reason we all like Son so well, is at the same time the reason he is not skilled to be our captain..

Let's not forget Ange made Son captain, didn't agree with it then, don't now. He is not captain material sorry to say. You can't have a player who is passed his best and shouldn't even be starting regularly, who is not a natural leader, to be captain. That is on Ange, another baffling decision.

"Tottenham, fans who think they are better than they are. It's a mediocre squad not capable of winning a trophy. "

Dream team of Lesley, Mason and doesn’t JD have his badges now too? 😂

Let me tell you a little secret - the football a lot of the time isn’t that good. We’re often quite boring. There increasingly needs to be a fairly specific set of opposition circumstances for Ange Ball to even work (let alone thrive)
It's no secret to me. Possession doesn't make football more entertaining. Toiling for 90 minutes, passing side to side isn't swashbuckling entertainer stuff.
Getting beat by clubs whose entire wage bill is less than Levy's bonus is pathetic too.
I find it intriguing people thought the relationship between Ange and fans are done, like since the end of last season. As if the voices here are the majority of Spurs fans.

Comments from IG, FB and YouTube, however, suggest the views are more balanced. In fact I think more from those platforms are keen to give him more time.
Click bait.
I'm convinced the Sonny Spurs, Barney etc etc just claim to back Ange because it gets rage replies and views.
Some of them seem too intelligent and of a certain age to not see the guys well and truly out of his depth and the players have stopped playing for him.

Any player of half decent ability in our squad now is going to be more likely to leave than at any stage in the last 10 years.
Unless something changes. And that chanhe is, and can only be, the coach.
