He had a fit Toby & Verts i believe along with Walker and Rose.... perhaps the best defences I've ever seen us have in our history.

Poch was booed off the pitch multiple times in his first season too.... and was lamented for prioritising a league game vs City over a cup game vs Woolwich early in 2015/16 too.

So let's not rewrite history with the power of hindsight on either side.

What's your point? Pochettino had only been managing for 5 years before he came to us, on quite a similar trajectory, similar record and having won diddly-squat at Espanyol and Southampton.

You've also conveniently missed his pride & joy snaring of the 2018 Cypriot Super Cup :davieshmm:

Look you're right, he could emulate Pocchetino's trophies, and the club will surely find another peak Kane and Son duo for him too.

Now 5th was an overachievement, remarkable! You just keep changing the goal line. Why was it? He had a bunch of new players plus plenty of experience. In fact we should have got 4th but this coach couldn’t get 2 points extra from the remaining games after beating Villa. This season he has spent even more and now you say we should aiming for even lower! When will you realise that it is this coach who is costing us from doing better.

like Martin Jol, Poch was made for Spurs and turned them into a really good team. He didn't get to add a player for two (?) windows and did what no other spurs manager has done by getting us to a champions league final and also two pushes for the league (not seen for a while). The fact is that the current chap is not in his league nor does he have Poch's class ( evidenced by getting turned over twice last season (amidst the bravery (?) - is that the word for it? ) and a solution is required before the rest of the season leaves us with nothing.

Of course it was an overachievement, based on our wage bill for one and based on where everyone predicted us to finish when we sold Kane.

You can say we bottled 4th and we ought to have taken advantage and that's fine but playing down finishing 5th when this entire forum has us finishing below 6th is nonsense.

Our average position last season through the whole season was 5th btw.

We finished 5th because of the first 10 games. The amazing start supplemented by a new manager bounce, huge amounts of fortune and people not knowing how to play against Angeball saw us race out in front.

That form and level of performance has not been seen since. Regardless of squad fitness.

I understand you being nationalistic, but for you, who is an Ange not a Spurs fan, who understands fuck all about our club, and football in reality, to post like you do, just gives me another reason to want him gone, as we will relieve ourselves of a few clueless “supporters” also

That's one of the reasons why Maddison hasn't played as much as people want as he's weak in duels

By the way this isn't any sort of vindication on whether I think Ange has been 100% correct in his management and his adaptation because he's really produced some tactical fuck ups everyone can see that, it's merely to counter the point that he doesn't adapt, there's so much evidence to say that he has but people think he only has one way which is nonsense.
