The Ange Cult is a phenomenon that should be studied. Has done nothing to deserve any of the worship but will continue to get it.

Apparently people being mean to him on an internet forum is entrenching the support. Which is essentially admitting they care more about sticking it to the meanies than the fact we're 3 points ahead of Crystal Palace in 15th.

But hey, everyone entitled to their (dumb) opinions and all. Like I've said before, he's a dead man walking regardless of what people say - they're just waiting for the right timing imo.
To be clear, I’d rather be wrong and we win the league. I’d rather you were right and we won the league. Results matter above all else.

And I’ve said clearly that I take on board football related criticism of the manager.

But, yes, a bit of me wants him to do well to stick it to those calling him a fraudulent fat cunt.

So I want him to do well and us to succeed so I can have the good feeling of being right. The only way you can have that feeling is if we lose enough that he fails. I know which side of history I’d like to be on.

For those saying it’s a cult. It’s no such thing. It’s a spiritual movement.

As the UK President of The Way of Ange community I must admit that the membership uptake has seen a slowdown this season.

Might need to only concentrate on the £2000 platinum VIP membership fees in 2025.

But like our 2nd core belief states. It’s the Journey over the Destination.

Unfortunately this seasons journey seems to be going through Luton, Corby and Rotherham on its way to Middlesborough.
In other words it’s a bit shit.

A bit of you wanting him to do well is a very different thing to "these guys are cunts so I believe in him a bit more".

You either believe in the job he's doing (based on the facts) or you don't (based on the facts). I don't think he's failing miserably because I think a lot of his supporters are culty, I think he's failing miserably because I never really bought in to his schtick from the start and think he has progressively gotten worse and worse at the club, to the point this season where we are an unmitigated, tragic failure of a team.

I'm not going to base my opinions on whether or not it puts me in an awkward position or not. I know I'm right about Ange, he won't win anything here .. bookmark it if you want.

I just don’t get how anyone can watch us and not think it’s an utter mess defensively and in attack and in and out of possession. Nobody ever looks to be in the right place when we don’t have the ball for one.

This is the thing for me. Which is why I think anyone still Ange in is a fucking moron. The evidence is clear to see, we look like an appallingly coached side. As bad as I have ever seen a Spurs team. This has nothing to do with injuries or fatigue, as the Ange in people love to use as an excuse, it's about tactics and structure.

Yesterday, his press conference reeked of desperation. Trying to deflect from another loss by saying it was a incredible performance, it wasn't. I honestly can't wait until he's sacked. I'll dance with glee in the faces of all the Ange in clowns, because they are completely deluded about this guy. I can't believe so many people still support him, when we are witnessing the worst Spurs team in modern history, they want to blame everything but the man himself. A manager's job is to get the best out of the squad, and get results, and by every metric, Ange has been a colosall failure.

I wish we had something like what Bayern had with Heynckes back in the day. A vastly experienced manager with a strong connection to the club, willing to steady the ship as a caretaker. Or a -former- manager employed as an assistant in the coaching staff, capable of taking over if/when it comes down to it. What Jol did here basically. Unfortunately we have neither right now, which drastically limits our room for manoeuvre.

People understandably balk at the thought of giving Mason another run, or trying to lure someone away from another team in a hurry during mid-season . So they feel cornered to back Ange, despite not seeing much in him.

I don’t give too much weight to this because many managers have got the dreaded “vote of confidence” from the board shortly before they get sacked. To even put that message out there in the first place tells you that things are really bad.

What’s scary is the possibility that Levy and the board really are stupid enough to believe that Ange and his coaches are good enough to get us competing at the top level. Lets see if he still has their confidence at the end of the month.

To be honest, I don’t really see you partaking in the fat cunt stuff. If your belief is football based, and it seems to be, you’ve no complaint from me.

NEW:Ange Postecoglou’s job is 100% SAFE at #Tottenham. They are backing him to lead this project forward.
@David_Ornstein

Jesus wept.

Well that confirms one of two things.

Either the club is run by utter morons top to bottom, and Levy and Lange would be part of the idiot Ange-in crowd who infect this forum and who incapable of watching football with their eyes open and engaging their brain.

Or we simply haven't been able to secure a viable replacement and are hoping Ange can see us to the end of the season without us getting relegated.

I hope to fuck it's the latter. But given Levy's evident lack of a football brain I increasingly worry it's the former*.

Surely Lange knows this guy is a fucking dud. Surely.

Edit: got my 'former' and 'latter' mixed up

In your view, is there no middle ground between Ange-ball on one side and Cont/Mouringo-ball in the other?

I think it's possible to play attacking football, with coordinated high press and when you need to defend you are organised in defence.
Ange can attack. The bad thing is, that he hasn't in 18 months been able to teach the players how to coordinate the high press end how to play organised in defense. That's on Ange. Of course, it would look a little better if our best defenders and Vicario were available but the structure would still be missing

He must go. Now rather then later. There is still time to save some face this season and probably fight for a win in the Europa League. If we keep Ange, we don't stand a chance against well organised teams that can counter.
Yeah there's a middle ground. Of course there is.

(Even allowing for the fact I don't believe Ange is as naive as some paint him)

However, what there isn't is guarantees.

There's no guarantees with Ange.
There's no guarantees with someone else.

For that reason I lean towards sacking Ange now being the wrong decision.

This is whats most frustrating to me. Ange keeps putting in positions they won’t succeed.

Son and Johnson are inside forwards. They’re useless playing touchline winger.

Udogie and Porro are barely back 4 fullbacks let alone inverted fullbacks. Both much better in wide space. Porro created numerous chances from wide vs Newcastle.

Why can’t we have a manager that actually makes the best use of this squad Instead of trying to force his system on its players.

I watch Liverpool and all their players are sensible distances apart. Ours never are. They are always miles from eachother or getting in each other’s way.

In fairness there's almost a guarantee any other manager could do better than this. You basically actually couldn't do any worse unless you actually got us relegated.

Unbelievable that the club decide to back a manager who is clearly out of his depth, as opposed to Poch, Conte or Jose.

It's unreal. But we shoudl expect nothing less from the club, they always choose the wrong option without fail.

All I can say is, if we keep losing, which we will, his position will become untenable even in the eyes of the most loyal. You can't escape results.
