Its doubtful he does however football is a funny old game , the players are still playing like they believe in him and worse teams than us have won trophies , lets say we somehow win the EL - are you still wanting him gone next season?
If we finish 9th or lower and won the EL i'd still want him gone. The league is the marker and as you say bad sides can win trophies. It would soon be a Ten Hag situation, an autumn sacking and a nightmare to find anyone else. At least he could go with his head held high and we all move on......wont happen though

Likely he'll stay on if that happens.

Ange has shown nothing to indicate that he can intelligently manage a squad’s minutes and rotate players. Remember, he had Spence in the shed for months until it was literally forced upon him.
The Spence one though you could look at it a different way, he failed to impress under Conte, failed to Impress on Loan in lesser leagues but Since Ange has taken him under his wing he has now become a Starter.
FWIW I think he could have played earlier as he impressed in the cup game when he came on but I don't think with Spence it is so cut and dry.

A big one for the Evangelists:

Why did we suck with a full squad end of last season as well?
Remember! Coached wins do not count in professional football
Far from a Evangelist but we finished 5th last season, I'd say after losing Kane in the summer that was pretty decent , what worries me most is even this season when we had pretty much full strength we looked shit versus a winless Palace and again against Ipswich.
Even the Brighton Loss , 2-0 up at half time and we go and lose 3-2 - I think a lot of people are using the Injuries as a reason why we are so shit, however the warning signs were there when we had a full squad.

The league finish is absolutely the marker. We should be in the top 6 every year. That's the bar for keeping the manager.

No club can expect to win the league every year, but at a big club in the PL if you're finishing 8th or 9th, you're getting the sack. If we're one of those clubs, it ought to be no different. (Especially recently when you consider that Man U are no longer the power they were, and City's run of dominance seems to be at an end)

It should not be that a manager could have us in the bottom half of the league at Christmas and keep his job. It should be inconceivable that he would be retained after the season.

If we are one of those big clubs.

I doubt it would happen, but would genuinely be fascinated to see the fan reaction.

He'll probably get a new 4 year contract and unwavering support (but not money) from Levy.

There were loads of alarm bells before then. Even in the wins.
2-0 up against Everton and then comprehensively out played. Ended 2-1, should prob have drawn.
4-0 down to Brighton and only made it "respectable" at the death
3-0 up against Bournemouth in the strangest game I think I've seen as they were by far the better side. Went to 3-1 and then 3-2 but 2nd was disallowed.
3-2 Vs Brentford. Shit 1st half, 1-0 down. Booed off. 3 quick fire goals to make it 3-1, then clung on for 3-2
2-2 away to Everton
1-2 loss home to Wolves
3-0 loss to Fulham
And then that run - 4-0 to Newcastle, 3 down Vs Woolwich who took their foot off the gas, 2-0 to Chelsea, 4-2 to Liverpool who were 4 up like Arse,
The only PL THFC manager to lose 4 on the bounce.
Ardiles lost 7 in 93-94
Pleat all be it as caretaker lost 4 in 03-04

Because our full squad had VDV and Maddison still in pre season fitness after 3 months out and a burnt out Son from Asiacup mid season, Sarr injured from AFCON and Bissouma recovering from Malaria and a crisis of confidence from yellow and red cards.

This season the squad is slightly better equipped to live without them at 100% but last year we struggled with one of those guys but NONE of them were fully fit

Our wage bill is in line with Villa's now and we will be reducing again to pay for the hotel.

You made me curious, so I checked.

Of the teams with the 5 lowest wage bills, only Southampton have failed to get a point off us this year: Ipswich, Brentford, Wolves, Bournemouth, Southampton are the five lowest.

Brentford is above us in the table with about 1/3 our wages.

We were beaten by Ipswich who are lowest and just above 1/4 our wages.

Yes, getting to the LC final and even winning it… that would be fucking shit for us in the long term.

The moronometer is absolutely buzzing it’s tits off with that post.

We're talking about the same fans who were happy that Levy sacked Jose a week before the cup final and praised him for doing so so why am I so surprised?

Anything to make themselves feel better because they can't deal with their emotions...over club glory

Selfish twonks.

I was starting to worry with the 2-1 home win Luton back in March 2024. Conceded early, some terrible football and luckily found back into the game after an early own goal in the second half. After that game a draw and four losses - followed by another similar display against (relegated) Burnley at home. It was a win, but some an abysmal performance.

And then the Brighton game genuinely upset me. Good football, went up 2-0 with clean finishes, but there were warning signs by the opposition, they should have scored one. Still went 2-0 into the halftime break. A key moment, of which we had so many under Ange where it was time to CONTROL the game. Keep the freaking fullbacks and midfielders where they belong if you are ahead, knowing how easy this team crumbles. Of course Ange has one and only one philosophy which is to constantly invert Udogie and let Porro run back and forth for 90 minutes. Mind you this was a phase of the season where he didnt rely on Spence! I mean come on, I struggle why others cant pick this up: He wants to play his superduper version of football which one leftback and one rightback all season long?

From then on it was just the same shit over and over. Alot of fatigue now with the whole squad because its just one style of play which isnt working anyway. The Chelsea fixture should have been the nail in the coffin.
