Completely agree with this and said the same last night when I got home from the game - Ange is too reactive and emotional at times and hooking Biss and Sarr to create a midfield of Ginge, Berg and Mad left us unbalanced. That's without bringing on Johnson who isn't worth a wank outside of the odd tap in. Leave Biss on, play Berg and Mad as 8s and leave the insipid Ginge out wide.

Arse started the time wasting and general shit housery with 20 minutes to go, they're low on confidence and we could've nicked something from this one.

I'd just love it if Ange at least once tried something different to see how it went. He could've with 20 minutes left gone 352 and gone man for man at the back:

Spence
Drag
Gray

PP
Biss
Mad
Berg
Moore

Richy
Dom

2 players who can cross it to two players who can head it, a balanced midfield and a back 3 that can be turned into a 5 without the ball.

I just don't think Ange has this in his locker and I don't think he ever will. Too reactive, emotional and stubborn, these traits will finish him off at Spurs.
Can’t think outside the box although most of what you say and I’ve said the same anyone could think of. Porro is our best crosser of the ball so play where he can use his best asset. Simples!

It was bad in some quarters. I remember Flav wanted 'Arry gone as soon as he said it and we felt relief when he left in the end. It was mainly saying we were gonna have a title challenge half way through the season, then signing Ryan Nelsen instead of Mario Mandzukic, getting distracted by the England job that never came, taking his eye off the ball in the league and not realising Chelsea could take the CL place.

Our form at the end of that season was poor. I wanted Levy to sell Arry to England because then all parties would have been happy and we could have ended the season stronger. That isn't dismissing the great work he did before the second half of his final season.

Just saying all good things come to an end and we better not rewrite history entirely.
Thing was both England and we fucked up. England selected hodgson and we got AVB. England surely would have been better under Harry and we could have got Rodgers.

They have invested too much and for too long. Take the posters still pro Ange here , they have actively stopped trying to convince us all. The graphs flows, heat maps , underlying metrics talks have now gone. Then it was :when the injuries return, they came back and were replaced with more injuries. Then it was there's no point because no one available, not no one better actually no one.

I genuinely feel sorry for them the ones who really believed. They have experienced a brutal time, the contrarians just like attention, but the true believers in the system, the year two all conquering narrative the have faith in his process. They have been taken in badly and can't turn back now because their egos too dependent on him.

But we are in a relegation battle and I honestly believe whatever happens Ange is gone because its not just the guys on here its Levy. This hire has made him a complete joke. Say Ange gets a few wins and thank God we stay up. He'll go in the summer or very early next season he's expended too much good will, you only get so much and he's burn through his own credibility. No established football person takes Postecoglou seriously now. So the moment the team dips again he would be lost. We need to save time get his replace sourced even if it's in the summer and move on. This was a monumental error that got enabled by very naive fans journalists and supports of leagues that are sub standard

I'm not one who wants us to lose a game to force the sack on Ange, because I realise the real problem is the fucking loser who appointed him and he stays regardless of any result.

However, the hypocrisy of a few posters criticising those who do and claiming they ain't Spurs etc fucking stinks to high heaven.

These very same people riding their high horses now wanted us to lose to City last season!

This place is unbelievable, man. A cesspit of false bravado, keyboard warriors and brazen hypocrites.

Does Ange coach...I,m being serious
Take the game against the scum 2-1 down brings on Richarlison sticks him out wide - we needed a goal, we needed a plan B - go 2 up top and give the scum something else to think about ... no Ange sticks with the same flawed system and it looked more like they would add a third than a spurs equaliser
How often have I said it’s always like for like.

I was going to mention Di Zerbi! Not sure he gets a sniff at another big big job after the marseille stuff and the players he bought in.

I’d bet a few quid that Liverpool knew Koop was going and told slot about the longer term plans!

I can see a situation with Bournemouth where they sell a few players, can’t replace the quality and then find themselves in a situation where the games in Europe take their toll and they plumit like we have! Then all of a sudden he is looking at the mid table jobs at best!

He would be the only one I’d fire Ange for!

Frank would be so underwhelming, he is a good coach! But has echoes of the Nuno hiring
I'd happily take Semenyo and Mbuemo, get the band back together under Iraola. Two 25yo entering their prime so we know it's unlikely. The former looked electric against Toon. Huijsen a defender to watch too.

Remember when Hitchens was unceremoniously dumped after years of suggesting duds? I can see the whole structure being quietly pushed out of the back door once Paratici’s allowed to play again.

Might be nice to hire some specialist coaches when we get our new head coach / manager.

Yeah. For me, it doesn't make sense to sack Ange for the likes of Mason. Even losing the cup semi and being in a relegation scrap, I wouldn't necessarily trust a caretaker manager to do better until the end of the season. Levy made that mistake with sacking Conte and things getting worse.

The problem is, if Ange does for example lose to Everton, I'd have to just admit he is utterly clueless in the Premier League and needs replaced ASAP. Normally I back managers until the end of the season, but if Ange loses versus Everton and Iraola or Xabi come in right away, I think it would be better for all parties.

Bournemouth would crazy to let Iraola go now they've got a big chance of Euro footy (1 point off the CL spot) for the first time in their history (if I remember correctly), And it would reflect badly on Iraola if he left them now. Besides, Bournemouth would want a ransom to let him leave now. Maybe in the summer.
With Xavi (I presume you mean ex-Barca Xavi and not Xavi Alonso) could be an option but I have certain doubt about him. But no head-coach comes with an guarantee anyway.

I said it a page or so back, but I think that we need to replace Ange with a manager that is used to bedding in and using players from the youth team if we are ever going to be a real challenger for trophies again.

Levy/Lewis is never going to sanction the spending to truly get a deep squad through the transfer market. So we need a manager that can combine the players that he gets in the market with the best from the academy to create depth.

I'd give someone like Marcelino a look even if his football is not necessarily the free flowing attacking ball that a lot of fans desire. But if you are able to win a Copa Del Rey in spite of your owner actively sabotaging you, you're good. Or someone like him, someone that can work with what he gets and make it better.

This video is 7 years old but holds true. Marcelino has since gone on to win a super cup with Bilbao and is currently 5th in La Liga with Villareal.

Oh come on...

The manager doesn't set out to injure the players. That's just silly.

He would have had the green light from Romero, VDV and the medical team when he played them both and they broke down again.

You're not going to force a player to play injured if they don't want to.

Ange has done plently wrong but let’s not start making shit up about him not caring about injuring players.
Before chavs gane drag and davies had played and I think we beat city 0-4. Soon as he could he dropped them two and play cuti and VDV v Chavs. He didn’t need to risk both in one game when drag was doing ok. Why risk it?

Just realising we could well be the only big English club looking for a manager in the summer. This could well be playing into Levy's thoughts. Just make it to June and then get the guy you really want (Iraola, McKenna, whoever).

United - just got Amorim. No way are they sacking him this summer
Liverpool - Slot probably wins them the league
City - Pep, new contract just signed
Arse - Arteta, not going anywhere, could still be in with a shout of the league & CL
Chelsea - Maresca probably won't go anywhere bar the most almighty collapse
Villa - would be mad to get rid of Emery
Newcastle - ditto with Howe

Nobody else is big enough to viably challenge us for Iraola. Even abroad it's only the likes of PSG, Bayern, Barca, Real etc and I don't see any of them going for the Bournemouth manager.

It's basically us or he tells us to do one (à la Slot) and hang around another year for a better job offer. Which is a possibility. Important we don't finish too low cos nobody wants to take over a shitshow in 15th.

To me, this is the only thing that makes sense as to why Ange is still in a job. They already know their list of guys they really want but none are willing to join til the summer, so they need a firefighter for 6 months (à la Hiddink) and that is proving harder to find.
None of them will join us in the championship

Steve Bruce will be more our level

Yep, absolutely. And I suspect Slot was in fact rather keen to join us and only "changed his mind" once it because clear Levy wouldn't pay Feyenoord's release clause.

As for Iraola, I guess it depends partly on his level of confidence, partly what he makes of Spurs' squad and situation.

If he's super confident he can keep Bournemouth improving next year then I could see him sticking around and holding out for maybe a Woolwich or Chelsea in case that becomes available in summer 2026.

But, and like you say it's a big but, you never know what happens in football and Bournemouth could easily drop off through no fault of his own, and suddenly he's yesterday's news.

For example, look at De Zerbi. Summer 2023 he was flavour of the month, had Brighton flying. But arguably he flew too close to the sun, because once in the Europa it became clear they didn't have the squad to compete in multiple competitions; they had an injury crisis and their league form fell off a cliff. Now he's at Marseille when he could easily have been at a United or Barca by now. (For the record I'd still 100% take De Zerbi).

As for what a prospective manager would make of Spurs situation, I actually think it's rather positive. Our squad currently looks much worse than the sum of its parts because we have a bad manager. But on paper there is a ton of ability there, much more than what Mou and Conte had to deal with.

And we have a stadium churning out cash so our owner isn't afraid to spend—we have the second largest net spend and total spend in the league since Ange joined. I think we're quite a tempting prospect still. More so if the other big clubs aren't looking for a new manager, which I don't think they will be.
Slot like most managers was put off because the first question was how would you deal with the sale of your elite striker.

Spurs supporters wanting the team to lose so that they 'get their man out" is the dumbest fucking arguement I've heard.

You'd rather lose and get the manager out than win - is that what you're saying?

Lose the next five games and have Ange out than win the next five games? Fuck me

Some fans in this fanbase are thick, who knew.

They seem to think that we'd have this magical bounce and all our problems will suddenly go away.

Chances are we lose, Ange gets sacked and then we continue to lose...what then - fucking sack Mason :porrohands:
