It has been reduced over and over because richer teams tend to board players to keep them away from the rest.
Maybe the PL could look at the season ticket rule and say that if a club has a 40 man squad, everyone has to play at least 10 games across 3 domestic competitions.
If not they have to reduce the squad by 5 or even force them to release x amount of players on free transfers.
That kinda makes me want to go though.

Yeah. The whole "we train how we play" thing sounds nice on paper. But it is something that you need to manage once you really get into the thick of the season, especially if injuries are hitting the team.
When Jose was here he mentioned that during the really hectic schedule they kept training very light and focused mainly on tactics. Because otherwise the players would not get enough time to recover between games. There was still fitness training. But not as intense as during pre season or when the schedule was lighter.
Additionally, Pep has a billionaires level of credit in the bank. Which player in that squad is going to have a second of doubt that this guy who has won everything multiple times can’t succeed in the long run? Absolutely none of them.
What has Ange won of note? Fuck all.
I planned up until yesterday to go, but just can’t make it, so had to list them. Probably for the best, it’s going to be a shit day out.
Jose took it to an extreme though, we had the worst running stats in the league under him.
The simple fact is playing twice a week every week over the winter months - you absolutely do not need to be doing more running In training, that sharpness is going to remain throughout. The problem is, Ange does not train tactics, we have a first hand account of that, so if he removes the running - what are they actually going to do in training? - Werner could do with some shooting practice and Dragusin could learn to pass the ball forwards, but other than that
The same pattern from the club again. Instead of investing time on new players, they came up with the same old tricks. There will be a 5th tweet comes 18 months later for the new manager.
I was almost Ange out after Everton. I'm back to Ange in now because ENIC and Levy and the board can go fuck themselves one more time. Ange may definitely be sacked afterall but my support WILL be with him till the end and NEVER be with the management of stinking cowards.

This such a weird view. I know let's keep in place a fucking terrible manager leading us into relegation because ENIC and Levy are shit and we hate them. Makes no logical sense. People judging Ange should be judging him solely based on what has happened on the pitch, and on the pitch it is objectively absolutely awful and he is failing big time.
If you still aren't Ange out after that Everton game, and it only meant you were almost there, well that's crazy. Just how bad do you need it to get before it clicks that Ange is a useless fraud?
Exactly. Ange isn't a terrible manager, I'm not making this personal. But what we need is that given we do have to work under the contraints of ENIC is have a manager who is able to polish a turd and make it more than the sum of its parts through smarter decisions and improving players through training.
Ange isn't that guy. He'll never get the quality or number of players here that his style requires to be a success against top tier PL teams. I don't hate him, I don't wish ill upon him, I hope he goes somewhere and has a bit of success somewhere again. ENIC are making Ange's job harder than it should be, and Ange just isn't cut out for a team which is supposed to have ambitions in the top end of the Premier League. He'd probably be fine with a monster squad at Chelsea, he wouldn't win anything but he wouldn't be 15th.

Let's not forget Conte wanted you bring a big team with him, Levy was against it. We currently have 4 positions advertised on our medical team alone. Is it remotely possible that Scrooge mcLevy has been cutting back on essential staff, maybe warm down staff, physics etc that has also impacted on our injury crisis. Let's face it he left us short on the field for yrs so why not off the field too?
