i know. this postecoglou experience really has been an eye opener for many reasons. its made me realise how fucking dumb most fans are. its such a simple game, watched by billions, yet it seems the majority are sooo fucking clueless about it. theres still spurs fans i know personally that just dont have the slightest idea how poor this manager is, theres been red flags galore and theyve missed every single one of them ( or not understood the seriousness of it)

now we find ourselves here 18 months later.....it was inevitable.

It's not just fans though, and that's the problem. There are presenters, pundits, ex players, ex coaches, current coaches, social media "personalities" etc absolutely everywhere that pump out this narrative non-stop.

Harry Redknapp a few weeks ago said give him this AND next season.
Glen Hoddle is arguing now that linesmen and VAR are to blame for our hamstring issues. Not suicideball.
There's so many of them that are constantly saying the age old cliche "you have to give him time"

I questioned a lot of fans who's main motive to sack Mourinho and Conte was style, not result based.
I asked how many of them would be happy if we get beat every week but have more possesssion and shots.

Many of them said yes, they would.

I find myself hardly watching the game despite being in the stadium now. It's not entertaining. We haven't won a home league match for months. I've sat through a lucky draw to Fulham, a boring draw with Wolves, losses to Chelsea and Newcastle, Leicester and during all those games I've never felt like the team was hard done by. In fact, only losing by 1 flattered them in some cases.

I just had a link to a post that says Spurs are lining up a move for Sean Dyche, what dickhead writes this crap 💩 some Woolwich bastard.

Ask yourself this. Who is the bigger dickhead? Some supposed journalist for writing it, or you for clicking the link and reading it. If you and other people keep clicking the links and reading, they will keep churning out the nonsense. Ignore it

Bonkers. He has had time and should be back in Australia. The fact we don’t have any organisation in any part of our team is a massive problem.

It’s hard to say, Levy seems to have gone soft in the head. He has never been this accepting of shit results before.

It’s clear from our performances against the credible teams we played in the group phase (Roma, Rangers, Gala) that we will not be winning the tournament with Ange in charge but who knows what Levy is thinking? Ange is the worst manager he’s hired yet the one he’s most reluctant to sack. It’s bizarre.

It's quite simple

I think Levy's biggest issue is trying to convince anyone decent to take over this shit show mid season.
There are managers we could get now but long term they're most likely not a solution.
His other issue is that this next appointment HAS to be the right one. No big money, big names just for show. No cheap hires that might work....he has to do his homework and get it right.
His next meeting with the THST will be a bloodbath otherwise.

As stated in other sources, appointing Ryan Mason again would be highly embarrassing for him, basically an admission that he's screwed up once again.

I honestly think that unless we move dangerously close to relegation, we'll be stuck with Ange until the end of the season.
His next appointment always has ( should ) be the right one but he gets it wrong the majority of the time . Except getting lucky with Poch and to a lesser degree , Redknapp maybe .

He's not a football man , hence his mistakes on the footballing side of things

With the benefit of hindsight it was a pretty naive appointment.

Levy has (correctly!) convinced himself that manager churn begets expensive and wasteful player churn, and so he has found religion on patience for a project as the right tactic for the grand strategy that always has been and always will be the core of the ENIC project: higher revenues brought in from supporters wallets for lower funds spent on players.

Until relegation or no European football become a distinct posibility.

I mean sure, but it is a matter of accurate fact that especially in today's football, sacking the manager comes with a whole lot of chaos in terms of players not being suited to the new manager, needing to buy players to implement the new manager's ideas, etc.

Patience is in fact cheaper.

That isn't what Levy believed 10-15 years ago though. He thought blowing up the managerial structure and getting a hot new manager and/or DOF was the cheaper path to getting better results out of the players he'd already bought.

Either way, that always has been and always will be the focus. How do we get more out of less?

Or maybe nobody will work with him any more?

Word gets around eventually in any industry.

Some good people have been treated like shite.

i think he's gone after sunday. we'll have a week to let mason and the boys get set up. it's prob wishful thinking but i don't think levy is going to let the rot spread any further. i think he wanted to let him coach the semi just to blunt any criticism like he got with the jose final but it's done now. villa will put us to the sword and he'll be gone.
The worst thing is that he probably wont be gone after sunday. I've starting to think he'll never get the sack. Maybe Joe Lewis is an Woolwich fan and now he is probably close to confort he will destroy us as a gift to Woolwich, after exploring us to make a lot of money.

Here's the thing- at this point, we really might be better off with any cheap, basic defensive caretaker.

All the squad are fine- we'll easily transition into any managers system. Bizarrely enough, we're probably worst set up for Anges tactics than anything else. Without a doubt our defensive roster suggests back 3 more than anything else, and our attack suggests in cutting wing-forwards, or a two-ST setup.

This fear of change as something that will make this season worse seems misplaced. We're doing very poorly already. It's hard to do any worse without getting relegated.
