Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Explain why we had no energy in the first half after a 65 hour rest? Then a 20 minute rest at HT after a hard 45 mins and they at least come out with energy and determination? Why can’t the manager motivate his team to go out there with energy and determination from the start?
You ever played football? I'm only 32 - old for many and not for some. My legs are still stiff / sore after 5/6 days.

At this level, with such fine margins, and especially after months of doing so - that's without the mental fatigue they're under.

Simply it's just ridiculous to judge them under these circumstances and all fingers need to be pointed to those in charge for how this situation occurred.

You've not just heard this from me though, you've not just heard it from Ange.

You've heard it from Conte - ohh although his football was just ridiculous anyway.

Although Jose mentioned it - mind you he's a dinosaur.

Come to think of it, Poch mentioned issues similar to this... Although he was twerking with Barca and he never had a plan to beat the top teams!

After that pitiful attempt at a low block against Liverpool, I was expecting him to go as gung ho as possible with his XI. He didn't disappoint. That midfield trio in particular was a total 180 from the previous match. Kulusevski has no business playing CM, and Bergvall at the moment also needs to be taken care of defensively a little bit due to how much he roams around and pushes forward. And then there's Bentancur, a guy whose Achilles heel is his lack of mobility and physicality. Good luck controlling the midfield with this trio against any half decent team with two-way midfielders.

Not that anything short of Kante+Makalele reincarnated playing at DM would be able to keep Ange’s midfield setups from falling apart, but picking Bentancur of all people as your single pivot is something else. Someone like Sarr has his own limitations, but what he has that Bentancur doesn’t is legs. So might as well let Sarr run around a bit behind Kulusevski and Bergvall. Or, ideally, go with an actual double pivot by moving Gray there.

I guess that’s what happens when you find out that your idol was playing in a national team that revolutionized the game back in the day by playing something resembling 4-1-5. He took it quite literally though, an honest mistake on his part.

Who is responsible for us having 12 injured players at one time?

Yeah I said I couldn't defend going out of both cups in a week and I can't.

Football is a results business and the results haven't been good enough.

But there is a very small window to replace him now without making it even worse and fucking up any recovery in form when the injured players come back. There is 7 days training before UTD and another week or so before the Europa League comes back and that is the only thing we have left to play for. If they are going to sack him, they need the new manager in before Wednesday.
Otherwise what tho?

Er, otherwise Ange gets us knocked out of the Europa too. Is the truth.

Seriously, we could replace this guy with a dead mongoose and the results would be as good or better

The injuries and energy levels are bad but we are using it as a crutch now. The players have bought into it and look like they can’t be arsed
If you keep telling them they’re tired, it’s impossible to do better with our current state etc they’ll just fall into accepting that. Mentality comes from the manager.

This guy sounds looks and sounds like a loser. It’s no wonder the team reflect him.

this is ange ball or he'd coach it out of him or bench him. he's following the plan. how many times per match do we see right footed porro standing just inside of left footed kulu all the way up the pitch on the right touchline? it's the dumbest shit i've ever seen
You thinking of the moment in the first half where Kulu was on the touchline with the ball in an awkward position unable to cross so he laid it inside to Porro's left foot making it impossible for him to do anything useful with it either?

Watched that and thought it summed up in a nutshell just how dumb and entirely fucked we are...

Our worst manager ever. Its an achievement of sorts. Jury out if that qualifies as a second season trophy though.
Really?

Unless the powers that be know for certain the players have quit on the manager it's probably just as well to suffer through this season and then consider options. They can't bring Mason in again because that would just be laughable. Everything Spurs do is based somehow on agents and connections, so they probably don't have a retired manager to tap as a caretaker. Erik ten Hag, or some other fired coach from this season probably wouldn't want the job unless they were given priority consideration for next season as well. As bizarre as it sounds, the best option would be to see if Ponch has an escape clause in his contract with the US Soccer organization. All that said, I don't think the team will fire Postecoglou.

I don't know.. as a supporter looking from the outside I would say most likely our medical team? Or the complete lack of investment over the years?

The lack of squad depth for what we really want to achieve here? The overall reliance on players who have been PROVEN to be unreliable / injury prone.

Most likely however the underpaid, overplayed players for giving too much to a club who really doesn't give two shits about them.

Interested to hear your input though?

Ange is using it as an excuse in every interview - its painfully obvious. Acting like the players are putting 110% in and he's so proud of them, just deflecting any ability for the interviewee to latch onto anything to further dissect his opinion/analysis on why we are playing utter tosh, inexcusably shit football week in week out.

Xavi and the Dortmund guy are unemployed.

If the are going to do it and give that new coach any time to get their ideas in play before the EL, then they need to go with one of the guys that is out of a job. No chance they are going to be able to get the negotiation done in time for any coach who is currently employed.

I doubt Mason or Wells would take it on tbh and if they did, the would likely continue in a very similar vein to how we are playing now.
