We are shit, the footballs shit, our position is shit, we are out of all domestic cups because we’re shit, and we have no reason to believe anything will continue to be anything other than shit.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings but frankly you’ve been wrong all season so I couldn’t give a solitary fuck.
But you don't even watch the games anymore so how would you know?

I've been following your comments for quite some time and I'm convinced you hate this football club more than any rival fans!

Please answer this question honestly. Would you like us to win the Europa League this season with Ange as the manager? If it happened would you celebrate it?

I dislike the current state of the football club and think the manager is terrible, like a lot of people. I find it weirder that people don’t, considering how objectively awful we have been. Pretending things are fine is just pointless performative nonsense.

Yes. If we won it I’d be amazed. We won’t, so the hypothetical is pointless. I don’t know why people discuss these hypotheticals like they did with us winning the FA/league cup. Let’s get even remotely close before posing silly questions about it.

If you want to look at it that way sure. I'd argue we'd be a lot higher up the table if we didn't have all them injuries.

If we had a full squad all season and we were in the bottom half of the table then yes he'd 100% have been sacked. But thats not been the case. You can say the injuries saved his job but I think we'd be at least 10 points better off if we didn't have even half the injuries.

Sure look at the difference Vicario (missing for over 3 months) and Maddison made yesterday!
Unfair to assume no injuries tho. The mean level of PL injuries is pretty high. Less than ours this season, but honestly, with a mean PL level type level we’d not be all that much better off. A bit yes.

If he manages to somehow add himself to this list then fair play to him, us being the Xth best team in the tournament would hardly dilute such a big accomplishment. Maybe with an exception or two all these teams were also among the best when they won it, it's not like these former winners elevated some crap teams to the top.

There's an additional element of difficulty inherent in knockout based tournaments that people often overlook, which makes me sceptical of any claim that we would have been favourites with this or that manager. Ange's chaotic football exacerbates the aforementioned variance factor inherent in such a format, so we would have to be really lucky to come close to winning this.

Unai Emery won it 4 times, 3 with Sevilla, is just incredible.

I agree to some extent, but I think if we had Vicario and one of Romero/VDV fit for the last 3 months then it would have made a substantial difference. We went through a 10 game spell where we had to play Forster in goal with Dragusin and Gray at centre back every game. Vicario and one of Romero/VDV would have been worth a lot of points during that run

LOL it doesnt hurt my feelings - youre the one with the issue with people talking about anything positive.

oh look - sin bin again.

pretty much agree. we still look like headless chickens out there no matter who plays, but we have some talent and can overcome the shit tactics on our day. i like this squad and think we've made some great signings. i want us to win for the players and i hope the decision on ange has already been made and he's gone no matter how we finish the season. in a perfect world we finish on a high and thank ange for his service and launch him into the sun.

:contekiss:
I agree. With one difference. I believe Levy needs to go. The players we buy, that people refuse to believe are bought by Levy, won't be here in 5 years. We've become the English version of Ajax. And to put all arguments to bed, "Who jumps on an Aeroplane every transfer window to try and buy players?" Daniel Levy, that's who.

Romero is already on his way out. VDV rumoured to be looking the same direction. I don't see Gray and Bergvall slogging it off another 5 years with the players we have.

Buying only Youngsters and paying them peanuts will not build a League winning FC.

We won't win much. It is what it is. If I had to make a choice, I'd rather have Levy go before Ange. But I do believe Ange needs to Go too.

Great post.

Agree with everything you say.

If you look at what happened to both Jol and Redknapp, before the stadium build, they either had their best players sold, before or after they were sacked, or were not given the players they wanted / needed to build the squad.

Levy was distracted with the stadium build when Poch delivered the best results any ENIC manager has ever produced. Four consecutive Champions League qualifications, two genuine title challenges and a Champions League final. All achieved without players being added during consecutive transfer windows.

Once the miser had time on his hands, after the stadium re-build, to intefere in the football side again, Poch was sacked and Jose broke up Poch's team. Jose did the same job Juande Ramos did to Jol's team.

In other words; Levy's meddling sets managers up to fail every time he gets involved.

In industry it's called constructive dismissal but it is hard to prove.

Levy pays well for silence.

I strongly suspect that Ange was recruited because he will comply with Levy's bullshit regarding intefering in everything.

Including team selection in my opinion.

THFC need to be rid of Levy if winning trophies is ever going to be our serious ambition.

Anyone feeling sympathy for Levy would do well to remember the humiliating manner of Martin Jol's sacking.

ENIC and Levy need to go.

Levy will need persuading because he believes THFC belongs to him.
