Fair play, I called your bluff and you stood your ground.

I don't want him in, but I do think we'd be higher in the table with him.

The crazy thing is that the players were where Ange wants them. He wants that cluttered central area with huge spaces left down our flanks. He wants the wingers so insanely high that there is no point in them even trying to track back because they will never make up the ground.

He thinks that throwing bodies forward with such reckless abandon is the best way to win and the results and performances tells us that is fucking stupid. He has been totally exposed as a football bluffer. No understanding of the game at a serious level. I bet our academy coaches could set the team up more effectively than him.

All I can say about that is - whenever we'll get rid of him and get in tactically adequate (yes, adequate, not brilliant!) manager in - I'd LOVE to play against team he coaches.

You can prepare for days, knowing exactly how they will play. No alterations, no surprises, just one-dimensioned idea that has so clear flaws. Opponent straight out of dreams.

no really tell us more about how perfect ange ball is and how better players would turn us into world beaters. i need to hear more about that superman dm who would end all our defensive problems by gobbling up all that free space left by our marauding fullbacks and midfielders. if only our defenders were messi and iniesta level technicians we'd have no problem exposing our opponents. really, ange ball cannot fail, we can only fail ange ball, no?

I've always said a coach deserves two full seasons as long as he isn't going to get us relegated so you can get a good idea of what he wants. He's getting that and it's plain to see that he isn't really adapting much of his methods to fit the league and more importantly the players he has to work his system. And this will get him sacked..rightfully

That first goal yesterday probably doesn't happen if we had a high energy DM with quite a bit of pace who reads danger well. You'd expect said player to see porro and anticipate the potential for a Bournemouth counter down to the vast amount of space down the right.
Once the ball is given up he'd either utilize his VDV level pace to race to the right to hold up Kerkez, or he'd drop into a back 3 allowing Romero to take up the RB position to stop the cross and Danso to better spread to the left.
It's risky relying on one player to stop you from getting done on counters, something that worked well last season off the back of VDV but you've got to have the players for it, and the depth to cover injury.

Bissouma, and Bentancur aren't natural DMs, don't really read situations, have zero pace, especially Rodri
so we are wide open when the fullbacks push up leaving the back two isolated 3 v2 or 4 v 2 every game

same goes from playing out the back, if they had players of the technical level to do it, sweet we'd have little problems sucking teams in then springing out with superior numbers but we dont spend the kinda money to have those types so it becomes a shambles

same old story for the wide forwards, system seems to demand players on the level of peak son to create the space to create the cross for the opposite wide man and solanke to attack the ball.

we have none of these things and with the league well versed on how we play it's all just collapsing into mush.
and he can't or wont adapt

some interesting high risk ideals but can't see it working with kids and mid table buys in this league

A bit like Kompany at Burnley and Bayern, when he has the best squad in the league, works great. When he doesn't it's a disaster. He won't adapt on principle, 'it's who we are' etc.

On our defensive frailties, I feel he should have at least tried Gray in the DM role - Gray has that awareness of danger, is comfortable being pressed, a lot of what we are lacking.

agree, and hopefully Thursday finally, but i have a feeling he still wont. It's as if he doesn't see him as a midfielder at all for some reason even though he seems built for DM.
Feel it's gonna be sarr, Bergvall and maddison

It could be another Spence level oversight - a solution hiding in plain sight. Eventually he'll be forced to play him there, Gray will prove he's a great fit, and Ange will rationalise it that he always saw him in midfield, but time in other positions made him a better player etc

He's a troll, just ignore him.

At this stage, anyone supporting Ange is

A) Australian and not a Spurs fan
B) Trolling
C) Mentally ill

I reckon most are A's and B's thankfully. But there are a few in the last group and that's worrying for us and for them.

but having a dm drop deep to cover the fullbacks getting forward isn't part of his tactics. he wants to flood the zone with everyone which is why we get torn apart so often. sorry i don't mean to single you guys out but this revisionism makes my head explode. we're playing ange ball as intended, it's just idiot ball

Just watched MOTD2 analysis and basically they highlight this perfectly. Ange telling them to continue to play it out from the back despite it conceding chance after chance.
