It's not just 3 points if it's a chance to qualify for the CL is it!
I'd rather watch Spurs play in the top tier of club football the following season than throw a game because I couldn't face getting a bit of shit from some gooners!
Yep I'm crazy because I want success for my team over failure for another....

Just being in the Champions League is not any kind of success. How difficult is that to understand?

But in 20 years time when they're walking past the trophy cabinet and see that Europa cup, who cares that Spurs won the CL that year.
The game is about winning as many trophies as possible, about playing at the highest level and tasting success as a team. Not just about wanting your rivals to fail.
Of course I want Woolwich to fail, but not to the detriment of Spurs.
Fair dinkum cobber...

Do we really want to see a culture where the club gets to dictate tactics to a coach?

Especially this club?

The fact that we are even discussing it tells us where we are in this experiment,

I think Ange has done positive things, changed the mindset back to attacking football, recruited and bedded in some unbelievable young players and shifted some donkeys that needed to go.

We will benefit long term from his time here but it probably needs to be without him for us to really get those benefits… he should have known himself when he said “I really hope I’m still here in 2-3 years to take advantage Lucas and Archie’s talent”.
It's an interesting question. We don't hear much from technical directors and directors of football operations as managers are the public face of the team. But people like Johan Lange are responsible for managing the manager and insuring what he is doing aligns with the team's long term direction and gets results. What I'm suggesting is that Postecoglou's bosses need to be having hard conversations that may require adjusting tactics and staff. At this point everyone's priority should be saving the project.

Fairs.

I'll be honest he's absolutely horrible, I think many fans including myself was guilty of sipping the Ange cool aid because of his bravado and the way he talks but honestly if we played the way he carries himself in press conferences then we'd win the league but truthfully it's just a pile of wank.

What I don't get is how comes the players are coming out every week and saying good things about the manager yet on the pitch they're not even running for him anymore and stopped doing the basics, it's almost as if he's convinced the players that it's okay to lose as long as they are playing the right way because of his philosophy and if they keep doing the right things the results will start to bear fruit in the end, he's brainwashed our players just like he has brainwashed our fans, it's easy to see how because he's just so convincing but the guy's a complete charlatan.

Let's be real. we're not going anywhere near that Europa and likely to get done vs Frankfurt, when we get knocked out of Europe which effectively ends our season it's gonna hit like a ton of bricks...A lot of fans are banking on Europa out of pure hopium because it's a distraction tool for how shit we've been in the league.

Happy to admit I was wrong, massively and TBH I was being a bit of a cunt on here and trolling people the Ange outers for a few weeks, so I apologise to folk on here, maybe I should create an apology form for myself!

Love you all x
Fair play Shady. This is probably your finest post here. 😅

That wasn't your original point. Your original point was that you want to play against Real Madrid rather than Qarabag. That was it.
Of course I do! My original point was that I wouldn't want to throw a game that stopped us getting in the CL just to stop Woolwich winning the title.
To give up the chance for fans to travel to Madrid on a Wednesday night and watch us play against Real under the lights.
To experience another 'miracle of Amsterdam', far out, I wasn't at that game, but I bet the fans that were wouldn't trade that moment....

Nope.

Last season the aim was not to finish top 4. The aim was not to do a Newcastle and have CL football but struggle in the league.
The aim was to just show progression. To correct the thousands of things wrong with the club.

12 months on we would see how Ange has moved the club forward. There is a valid argument we have regressed this season.

But Ange fucked up saying Top 4 is not important. He took the pressure off the players. Pressure is something you need to get used to, especially if you want to win trophies.

And his top 4 message, first the team and then - once we lost at home to Woolwich - the fans embraced. And he then got upset!! The first time his love of a contradiction really became apparent.

Doesn't actually work like that. We almost certainly continue to pay their wages for as long as they remain unemployed. Once they get a new job that ends.
Potentially only offsetting the difference if the next job is paid less.
Possibly, but typically its been described previously as the payout that Spurs are required to spend on each manager. Unless it is specifically negotiated, I can't imagine that the contract isn't paid out in full. It would be more like a welfare check if just paid out until they find another job.

We've 100% regressed this season, with what I believe is a stronger squad than last season.
You're spot on about the lack of ability to play under pressure, that's why we have the Spursy tag. Because winning isn't our team mentality. We try to win the league, when that's out of reach we aim for top 4, because it is important, then top 6 etc.

Now being linked with Silva...
Last week it was Iraola...

Basically, we're being linked weekly with any manager who has our number...

That's starting to become a fucking long list!!!!!🙄

Even Ruud van Nistelrooy meets that criteria!!

If I were a sports journo, I would find a forum like this one for each club I needed to cover, and relentlessly steal intellectual content from it's members. Almost all these stories sounds like they are ripped directly from our pages, and I've no doubt there's at least a few sports journos here doing just that.

Then top half....

I gave Ange a lot of leg room for several reasons:

1 it’s clear ENIC and Levy have fucked managers for ages. Particularly during the transfer window with an injury crisis the pressure had to be on Levy not the manager and to be fair the fans did that 100% and the media jumped on their back (well done fans!)

2 I am tired of rebuild and change all the time. I really wanted continuity.

3 As a club we are an attacking club. No Spurs manager should ever be defensive, it is anti-Spurs and Jose wound me up with his shit. Ange at least talked the right game.

4 the injury crisis was extreme and I was willing to allow it to subside to see where we were.

For me it’s over for a few reasons

1 we have all our players back and we are as tactically disjointed as AVB without Bale. That is a coaching issue not a player issue. On its own it is a sackable offence simply on the basis that the manager isn’t good enough.

2 I was angry with Ange about the Woolwich game last season and his feelings around us not wanting Woolwich to win the league. He said sorry which I took in good faith but he has been really spiky with fans unlike the board who he kisses arse. I have started to turn off him as a person.

3 whole thing feels inevitable now. He looks out of his depth. I should have seen the warnings when he spoke in terms of just emotions while Slot speaks tactics when in front of camera.
