Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Anyone that follows Celtic has absolutely no fucking idea what it means to "compete" for anything unless they count their numerous arse-rapings in Europe as "competitive". Its Rangers with any recent pedigree in Europe, Celtic exist in European competition as a goal difference booster for serious sides.
Not saying I like Celtic but they won the UCL once. Rangers never did so.....

"That list includes managers like Pochettino, Mourinho, and Conte—guys who had won league titles in top countries. All of them believed they could turn Spurs around. Not one of them was equal to the task.

Because some clubs you just can’t do anything with. Whether that’s down to ownership, bad leadership from executives, or a baked-in culture that makes progress impossible, it’s real. Culture can be changed. Leadership can be replaced. But if those things are as deeply ingrained as they are at Spurs, there’s little light at the end of the tunnel. It can be very difficult—if not impossible—to turn things around in the short to medium term.

And Spurs is one of those clubs. It has both leadership issues and cultural rot. Everyone knows about the chairman. But the cultural rot might be even worse. There are people in and around that dressing room who’ve been there a long time, and they’ve seen managers come and go and be utterly destroyed. One more manager coming and going? So what? It means nothing to them.

Even the new signings can’t be relied on to dig you out of a hole or battle hard when the going gets tough. What do they care? Spurs have become so used to failure that nobody goes there to win trophies. The attractions for any player signing for Spurs include the money, the lifestyle, the London location and playing in the Premier League. None of them go to Spurs because they have a winning mentality. It’s not that kind of club.

Yet they’re followed by a support with a wildly overblown sense of where the club should be."

it may be an Ange puff piece article from a Celtic fan but he may be right about that
Sad America GIF
Nah. I don't think Spurs fans saying that we should be higher than 15th is a "wildly overblown sense of where the club should be". But maybe opinions differ.

There also aren't that many "people in and around that dressing room who’ve been there a long time". There's been a vast overhaul of the squad. .... He might be talking about some coaches like Mason..... But he isn't. He means players. And he's incorrect.

It's frustration beyond belief - I just wanna shake some sense into Levy - How can he:
1. Get taken in by this buffoon and give him the managers Job.
2. Worse still. Look at the way we play and where we are in the table and still leave this fucking charlatan in charge.

I was always against this appointment, I knew it would turn bad, not quite as bad as this. He really should have been sacked after Chelsea last season. High line with 9 men - fuckoff

100% agree my man

Milesy is everything that is wrong with the club. Bought out to do the puff piece, you just have to look at the disdain all our players have for him.

He’s certainty a « glass half full « sort of person . The world needs more of them IMO .

It’s quite touching ; once you accept that he’s not an actual, real journalist-type interviewer .

Could see him becoming a bit of a
cult-hero if ever gets to take over from Laura Kuenssberg or when the BBC realise that he’s the true successor to Paxman on Newsnight.

I’d tune in to watch that .

Someone might even end up making a film ; you know , just like
Frost and Nixon .

And we can all be proud that the Club gave him his first big break .

It’s a shite argument

We are limited by Levy. But limited by a wage bill 2/3 of our peer group. We have shown under Poch we can be a top 5 side and a good watch and maybe win the odd cup within those constraints

We SHOULD be better than that and we all hope one day an owner will align our wage bill and ambition with our revenue
To paraphrase a post that I saw on reddit:

Levy, for all of his faults, runs a club that averages sitting 21 points off of 1st.

Ange manages a team that sits 2 points off of 17th.

Romero , Ben Davies, son, Reggie , Austin?

And I seriously doubt he's talking about being above 15th is what he's talking about. But you know that

Unclear if you're agreeing his statement or disagreeing. As you then pretty much go on to point out that we need a change of ownership to change the culture of the club which is more or less what he's saying, that there's a Deep rot that would be a miracle for any manager or new signings to change .
No one really needs reminding that poch won nothing here .
In fact I very much recall spurs fans wanting him out because he had no winning mentality

100% serious question:

With Glimt taking a 2-0 first leg lead, our odds of bumbling our way to the EL final remain pretty high.

Supposing we do manage to somehow win - what are the odds Levy doesn't sack the fraud?
