Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think Levy would tap someone other than Mason if Ange is sacked before the end of the season. The optics of going crawling back to Mason again would be poorer for Levy.
If Levy actually knew what he was doing, thought fairly reasonably and took a bit of a gamble on someone who knows Spurs, loves Spurs and understands what it means to play for Spurs, then he'd ask Stuart Lewis to coach the team after we sack Ange.

Just for the remainder of the season. Just to give him some top level experience and exposure.

His youth teams play absolutely brilliant football.
Well coached, drilled excellently, with style, attacking play and look like they know how to see out games.

He would have the fans support far more than someone like Matt Wells, perhaps. Though Wells is Cliff Jones' grandson, perhaps he has been too close to the awful Australian and a completely new pair of eyes could bring some
Semblance of a football team back.

With other revenues coming into the club our league position is not as important as it was back then to levy . Of course he’d like to be higher but it’s not a necessity.

I fully expect a statement saying that due to our league position we won’t be adding much to the squad , there’s always an excuse.

He’s already come out with the excuse not to spend in his statement the other week. It was a precursor to a quiet window and warning us of such.

You're right, but Matt is right that the goal numbers are misleading and this is why the league position in the end says who you are.

That goal total is heavily weighted toward just a few days of the year and seasoned with consolation goals, when the reality is we present almost no attacking threat against decent teams and in tight games.

Being still in the blocks at 90' against Tamworth is all that need be said
I know hes right on that, don't think I said anything to the contrary?
GS column for us is a joke as an argument for anything - we are appalling.

Defensive football is anti Spurs and never works see Nuno, Jose and Graham. Fans reject it. We played good football under Jol, Redknapp and Pochettino and that was mostly quite attacking. If the club switch back to a defensive manager we will be back here in 12-18 months looking for the next manager.
I 100% agree - this is what I am saying, doesn't have to be defensive shite but you can't be totally incapable of a clean sheet or dropping deep and changing it up when you need to. I hate going back to Poch again and again but his football is where we should be, great defence, strong in midfield and skilled attack. Ange is so so far away from that its actually incredible.

Agree.

We need someone who is adaptable and flexible with their tactics. That doesn’t mean being either overly attacking or defensive, just being balanced.

Brighton game is a good example, after being 2-0 up we needed to steady the ship, because the Brighton comeback was inevitable.

I actually can't believe the powers that be at Spurs, who have been watching the absolute state of the team the past 18 months, but particularly in the last few months, decided it best to not sack Ange. I mean, wtf are they playing at? It's gross negligence.

In decades of supporting this club, I've never seen such a clearly out of his depth manager being given so much time and reprieve.

The numerous injuries have allowed him time he otherwise wouldn't be getting.
