Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The reality of winning the trophy will be different than the prospect of it.. It's easy to say he's gone no matter what, when it's just a concept. But in the midst of what would jubilant celebrations, the club will be staring down the barrel of sacking the manager who'd be in charge of our biggest trophy win since 1991. Even though that'd be the right decision, they'll envisage the storm from the media if that happens and the board'll bottle it. Like they bottle everything.
I am not so sure. Levy will have seen more than enough evidence of tension between Ange and the supporters and I don’t think he will want that. If we win the EL it will just temporarily paper over the cracks and within a month or two of the new season starting things will be back to how they are now because Ange can’t /wont adapt. Levy may not know much about football but he must know that he will look like a real wally if he lets this situation repeat next year. I think Ange is a gonna at the end of the season whatever happens. Just hope Levy gets a new man in quickly so we don’t waste the preseason/transfer window

I don't think 'care' is the right word.

I think he simply isn't a football man so doesn't really know what he's doing and makes wrong choices as a result. Choices dictated by his knowledge around finances and cashflow and doesn't know how to identify managers that are worth taking a chance on, ala spend big for Poch after that UCL final - when budgeting and board meetings probably said otherwise.

Here's hoping that Vinai and Lange collectively are better at the football decisions and can leave DL to running the money side of the club.
He did spend big for Poch after CL... Ndombele ring any bells.

However, you look through the threads on here and there are people saying Iraola, Frank and Glasner aren't good enough for this club.
They have their teams at 8th, 11th and 12th respectively, with what would be considered worse squads and resources than ours.
So people are already dismissing Iraola because he's 'only' got Bournemouth to 8th. Makes you wonder what the reaction would be if he only got Spurs to 8th next season....
The top 6 isn't going to be easy to crack into now with Villa and Newcastle pushing the top 4 even harder.
I'd say 7th or 8th would be reasonable for next season and hopefully build from there.
Sorry Paul 7th / 8th is not good enough for a team with our revenue and facilities.

i just don't see it this way. just a guess but i assume it's very toxic behind the scenes with ange. it would not be surprising that he acts like an utter prick the moment he walks in the door every day. it's over no matter what

I think football is so fucked, that at least one more team will give him a go.
I nearly fell off my chair yesterday when I saw Mark Hughes is still stealing a living as a "football manager"
People like him, Allardyce, Warnock, Woy, Ranieri, even Benitez are all just shuffling from job to job with no real success for a long time.
I reckon there's one or 2 PL clubs that would take a punt on Ange and that job will be the one that ends him.

Absolutely; the reason I won’t feel sorry for Ange is that a) He’ll get a 10 mill pay-off b) He’ll presumably get to prove the “ once you leave Tottenham you win stuff “ cliche ; whether it be at Olympiacos or back at Celtic .

He tried , he failed and he’ll go back to being successful at his level .

Like loads of other people have done before him , in all ranges of human endeavour. With about 10 million less quid for their “ trouble” .

He’s a lucky lad .

I’m fine with sacking him.

I’d have done it after Liverpool in the CC, posted it as well.

But Matt Law knows nothing. If we win the EL, it’s still a massive ask to expect the club to sack him.

Taking “ The Bigger Picture “ into account:

I’d be AMAZED if they’re not equal to that task . They , the Club ( i.e.he ) have done far far worse.

no it's not. i think everyone in this unhappy marriage hates each other and cannot wait to part ways.

Agree makes no sense from either side , club side he would be sacked if it wasn't for the cup runs.
And on anges side I don't think he has any love the fans or those he works under. And tbh he would never achieve better than winning the Europa league, most managers won't. So might as well leave as poch was going to with a CL cup win

Possibly Definitely our worst manager in premiership history and possibly definitely the worst manager in the premier league this year, especially when you consider the budget and players he has to work with.

Corrected for you

And with 53.5% loss ratio he's officially our worst manager of all time. Going back to 1882.

but there area still zealots out there saying yeah but no but yeah but no but
