That mentality has burned us in cups in the past though. The lack of squad depth means we've historically pushed hard in league and been left gassed in europe

Whats quite clear is he knew he was toast from about mid February so has lumped everything on trying to get a cup so he can act smug and Billy big bollocks about the trophy in his 2nd season schtick that he boxed himself in with 8 months ago. He just wants his fuck you moment. He's given up on the league so the players have given up on the league. Compare with Palace who have a final in 6 days. Do you really need to ask this?. Whilst it would be great to win the Europa, which we will all celebrate wildly... after a round of applause at home to Brighton, Ange must be shown the door. The Europa Cup, as wonderful as it would be... does not, for one second, save the utter dumpster fire of this season.
