Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If that’s the case, the players responsible need to get to fuck out of the club too.

They play for the club, not the manager. Or they should at least. Any player who doesn’t try, and I believe there’s a fair number in our squad, shouldn’t be here.
If we had a good mgr then I'm absolutely sure that he'd get the best out of all of them.

Week after week he's sending them out with daft formations and lunatic instructions. Human nature that some people will tail off.

Nobody woth any reasonable sense will say that man city might make him their next manager

If I say that I think xabi alonso wants to be our next manager

That is not a difference of opinion

That is trolling

Nah it's fair game really, if he wants to believe that then that's up him...that doesn't make it trolling...utterly delusional maybe and off his head yeah but not trolling.

You can't troll in a neutral thread, you guys just don't like what he's saying because you're so steadfast in your opinion that this manager isn't good enough and you don't like him which is fair but other than that I don't see an issue here.

In fact folk telling him to fuck off and saying he has a mental illness is more of a problem but I guess everyone's gonna ignore that aren't they...

Neither am I.

He didn't throw the league, more he doesn't have a clue how to manage in it.
The Office Thank You GIF

Each season we go into 3 or 4 competitions.

Why was Conte criticised as harshy for his abysmal cup and European performances?

Why want Jose criticised for his abysmal European performances?

Poch managed 1 good season in Europe beyond last 16. (Does that mean we finished 16th??l - pathetic !)

You lot wanted a real trophy. You'regetting one. Turns out the "top 4" trophy is the one that most of you prefer. You can go celebrate that with the Gooners, I'll keep the Europa trophy thanks.
You'll keep nothing you trolling wanker

Ange will leave regardless and you will fuck off

Can't wait

At this level, it shouldn’t really matter who the manager is. Players should still be able to think to themselves “maybe I should at least look interested for my £100k per week”. “Ah, that guy who plays for the other team is running g towards our goal. I should maybe do the same”. “For a change of pace today, I’ll try to pass to my own team”.

I’ve not seen basics happening this season. I’ve not seen passion or desire. I’ve not seen effort. Fuck the players, they deserve as much, if not more, of the blame for this season than the manager.

We have a manager who tries, but isn’t capable.

We have a squad who are capable, but don’t try.

I was thinking of going to the stadium to watch the final next week like I did for the CL.
But having gone to the game yesterday, I don't think I can be fucked.
I walked out after 70 mins yesterday. Awful. Soulless, effortless and just not at all what we need to build up a winning mentality.

I'd like to be wrong, but I just feel the United Shit show is a tad but less shit show than our shit show. They'll probably have Ferguson in the dressing room helping them over the line. It'll be a horrible match and they'll somehow win it.

Realistically, nothing short of an amazing show by Spurs, domination and a spanking of United is going to make me happy now. We've been so fucking bad this season, so utterly awful, that nothing excites me anymore. Even the prospect of a cup win and a place in next seasons CL.
I feel the same, Matt. I wasn't at the game, but I just went into the garden after 60 minutes. Just couldn't care less and wasn't going to waste any more of my life committing to that utter rubbish.

However...

If we win, I'd like to be at the stadium. I'm pretty conflicted.

Haha your love for this fraud is so comically deluded it's almost endearing.

It is because of multiple reasons:

1. Levy / Lange left the squad short for a season with European football, the summer window was nowhere near ambitious enough.
2. Ange managed the squad terribly in the first 3 months. Overplaying Udogie after he missed most of pre-season recovering from surgery whilst overlooking Spence is probably the best example of how not to do things.
3. An incredible injury crisis. This was not helped by Ange ball's demands on player's hamstrings, but not all down to him either. Some were injuries that were just bad luck. But no team in PL history has dealt with the injuries that we did between Nov and Feb. We were down to 5th and 6th choice CBs at times. The injuries meant that the league was understandably over for us by end of Jan.
4. Not adjusting tactics in the league. The injuries were compunded by Ange not adjusting his tactics and insisted on playing out from the back and a high line with players not suited to it (Dragusin and Davie as a CB pair for example).
5. Focus on EL only. It has been clear that for the last month the club has prioritised the EL and Ange has picked teams to help squad fitness rather than to get results. I am happy with this - as most of you should be (as the debate on forums like this for years supports that we'd rather with a trophy and come 17th than finish 4th).

The key things right now are:
  • Ange has not lost the dressing room.
  • He has overcome his stubbornness and come up with game plans to get the most of his resources (as shown against Frankfurt and Bodø).
  • We are in a European final.

Losing the dressing room or not, isn't the issue.

Losing twenty Premier League games, plus losses in the domestic cups is down to the manager irrespective if the priority is the EL (or any cup for that matter).

I posted this week the Spurs team v Everton a few days before the CL final v Liverpool, and you can look back at the previous games to that game as well. Poch played more or less the same team as played in that CL Final.

Ange and his training methods caused those hamstring injuries, and he admitted that this was also the case in his time at Celtic, you can look this up yourself.

His excuses of too many injuries, not enough games, now too many games are getting tiresome. He himself stated in February that when he had a full squad to select from "you would see a different Spurs side".

Since that statement we have gone on to lose another seven PL games and have been knocked out of the two legged Caribou Cup semi final in humiliating fashion . We have won once in eleven games (to the mighty Saints)

The EL is a shit Cup made up of also rans, where UEFA have had to put an incentive of CL qualification in order for clubs to give a shit. If that wasn't the case Ange would have played yesterdays starting eleven in the EL not unlike our previous four managers have.

When have Scouse, Woolwich and City played a bunch of kids week in week out in the PL, and they have played as many games as us.

Ange is using the EL as his swansong, nothing more nothing less. He knows that the mess he is causing he can walk away from in two weeks time and fuck the consequences.

Anyone who can't see through this fraud is in denial.

100%

I can understand the poor league performance through the lens of the injuries, and subsequent the focus on the EL post Feb. But whether we win or not, you cannot take the same manager and same group of players into the following season without significant risk of relegation. Psychological damage is done and whatever happens in Bilbao we need significant changes this summer. New manager, new coaching team, at least 3-4 new first team players, even if we have to sell to buy. I remain in favour of Oliver Glasner, and the way his team showed aggression and desire, following a well laid out plan and playing style, against us in what was a dead rubber for them as well showcased his managerial talents. I'd also take Frank from Brentford who is over performing with an inferior squad.
:levystare:

In all honesty......3-4 new players would be the bare minimum we needed.......but the 'he's really canny in the transfer market' levy will end up signing one player anyone has ever heard of but no one wants, taking two has-beens on loan and then signing another 18 year old who is touted as the next big thing, but then we silently let leave for a free a few years later.

What he won't do is do what we do desperately need and sign 3-4 quality players that will improve the first team.

This is how a real manager takes accountability instead of deflecting, gaslighting and blaming everything around him. Levels to this game. A manager thinking about the future and actually addressing the problems rather than bullshit pointscoring with the fans and media.

Yep.

Richard Arlison Richard Arlison & co - read it. That’s what a manager taking accountability sounds like. Not a manager hiding behind European results.

Fair play to him.

Careful now - Richard Arlison Richard Arlison will accuse you of not being Spurs, from his Castle in Spain.

Christ alive, you are in the running to be the most insufferable cunt on this forum. And that’s against some outstanding candidates. Kudos.

Do you ever post anything insightful? Ever ask for other’s opinions? Ever engage in good faith? Do you add anything to this forum or real life? I doubt it.

Go to the stadium.

It’s a chance you take in any final that you might lose.
Admittedly nearly every game that involves Spurs and the word final I end up leaving disappointed. The Manchester ones were fucking awful.

This one however I’m stuck at home.

First time ever for a semi final or final.
Maybe that’s the change of fortune I need!
