he told us he won't change and in the league he hasn't yet in EL we all see he changed, So why didn't he change in the league (rest players but play more defensive) we would have picked up more points, yes only got to around 10th (but thats a lot better then losing 21 games and finishing 17th)

Lol yeah cos coming out in Feb and telling everyone that he's not bothering with the League and he'll win the Europa instead would have been met with love and hugs on here.

We all knew it the last few months though. We saw the line ups. Everyone knew he was going for balls deep for the European glory.

Fair play to him.

And it's why I don't put a massive stock in the 21 defeats argument. It's awful yeah but the last two months we've been saving our best team for Europe.

He can't do that next season and so he needs a better squad. The summer is crucial.

For me top 7 and making a semi or final in a domestic cup should be enough to keep him around another season. It shows improvement in league whilst still being able to compete in cups. He will likely exceed this is we stay healthier than this year and make a few astute transfers.

You guys are insanely delusional if you seriously think Ange purposefully sacked off the league to focus on europa.

We have been horrendous in the league since November 2023, he’s using the Europa run as an excuse for the league last season. He was the same person who said the previous year he was against finishing 10th and just winning a cup as it didn’t show true signs of progression. He’s bullshitting you lol.

I’ll be forever grateful of ange for these past few days, but this revisionism is insane, this wasnt some genius plan to win europa and tank the league. Also beating utd for a 4th time this season isn’t going to suddenly make us consistent in the prem next year or make ange suddenly able to balance Europe and the prem next year. Our problems remain we now just have the trophy burden off our backs.

Things can change considerably in two years.

If the board are considering retaining Ange there’s bound to be a discussion about how things move forward and there may genuinely be a conflict in those views eg if board want to change back room staff.

I don't think he 'tanked' the league.

He def kept his stronger sides for the Europa after a certain point though.

Have a heart mate. These clowns have felt like they were winning the whole season and felt like they were finally right about something.

They were basking in it, calling some of us all kinds of names… only to have it ripped away from them in one night. It will take them some time to adjust.
