Absolutely!I’m not so sure , the reason we beat United is because of Ange tactics , granted his hand was kind of forced with The injuries but he changed the way we play , any way in still
Enjoying the win , whatever happens next season will happen and there is nothing us as fans can do about it , but what we can do is smile and enjoy Wednesday!
Good times in football as spurs fans are few and far between
The thing is the people who are saying we had the easy run were the same people writing us off against Frankfurt , away to Bodo and again in the final against unitedNothing lucky about that though is there, you can only play who's in front of you and Utd deserved to get to the final. We were arguably the favourites for a reason.
It's actually the opposite, we lost 3 key players and 3 creators, nothing lucky about that.
No I’m the same this squad badly needs an overhaul but it’s a big job, just say, now I’ve mentioned these two on the transfer thread we somehow land Eze & Mbeumo which the majority would be delighted with but for the good of the club and players themselves we shift Son, Davies, Forster, Richarlson & Reguilon
Okay Forster & Reguilon are not regular starters but they’re squad players we replace two and we’re 3 players down next season as much as I’m delighted we’re in the champions league, europe, league, league cup & F.A Cup + internationals that’s feckin brutal
I don't think a copy and paste of the first season is good enough. There needs to be something to show that we've stepped up a gear - I want to see a real, sustained run at the top of the league. We might not quite have what it takes to be league champions at this point but we need to be in the final shake up. He basically needs to emulate golden era Poch.
To fulfill his promise about the third season, I think we need to be looking at 3rd or higher. I would accept 5th and competitive performance in the cup competitions but 5th and crapping out in the cups - not good enough. Ange has promised progress and that's what he needs to deliver.
Before we sign any players we need to find out why we are getting so many injuries , look at Palace for example - they played full strength all the way through to the FA cup final - I know injuries are part of the game but we can’t have another season like this where players are dropping like flies.I honestly think, 4 legit starting quality players takes us to levels I don’t want to say because it’s not the time to start upsetting the melts yet.
RW: Mbuemo, Cherki
AM: Eze, Cherki, Paz,
6/8: Cardoso, Palinha
LCB/LB: Hincapie
None of those are impossible to do.
Then you need to make decisions on who you replace in the squad if they leave like Richy, Son, Biss/Bent. Romero has to stay
The bar isn't very high when it comes to the league. 20 losses and 16th would be an improvement.
I totally agree without the injuries, we would not be anywhere near where we ended up in the league. In Ange’s first season I think both VdV and Romero played most games for us. Yes missed a few but no where close to this season. Injuries are some times simply bad luck, bad timing etc. Before we sign any players we need to find out why we are getting so many injuries , look at Palace for example - they played full strength all the way through to the FA cup final - I know injuries are part of the game but we can’t have another season like this where players are dropping like flies.
If we can add the players like you say and have 70% of them fit all season then I think we could do something very special
Makes you wonder when they will sit down to discuss anything. He'll go down as a legend for breaking the no trophy spell and getting rid of "spursy" (for a while at least). The correct decision is still to replace him though. League form over a long time period and methods that obviously result in injuries galore need correcting. There will be no AZ/Frankfurt/Bodø/Man U run to save us next season.
Winning wise not much… he had a good personalty pundits liked him? I didn’t dislike him in anyway personality wise, I just don’t see what tangible things he accomplished with what on the most part was a very good squad of players including probably one of Englands best players in history, one of the most creative players in Eriksen at the time, arguably the best CB pairing at the time. I don’t see anything in what he has done since he left us that would make us take him back other than sentiment.
I can’t rebuttal the big fella.
