So what are your expectations in his third season? It seems most would be happy with a top 5 finish?
Realistically, we should aim for top 6 and one of the domestic cups. It's a less romantic vision, but we now need to balance a trophy with a better league performance.

If we got to the later stages of the Champions league too, frankly I'd be amazed, but I hope we can still show growth. It will still be great to build experience in our young team.

There's something about developing playing style too. Finding the balance between Angeball and Angewall...

It's you who comes up with drivel rather than logical arguments.
And unlike I and don't see things just from within the Spurs bubble but I see things as they are in this objective football world. And no, I am not desperate to paint Woolwich as a among the better teams in Europe but fact is that they are considered to be among the top teams this season from their results ((which doesn't mean they are better than the "real big" teams).
Ending 2nd in the EPL and knocking out the favorites to win the CL this season, Real M., and beating them both home and away, does put Woolwich among the top teams in Europe this season.
If the EL is such a prestigious competition why was there a bonus of qualifying for the CL included for the winner?
You never answered why big clubs prefer to play in the CL rather than the EL even though it's much easier to win it (EL) and why do all the top players constantly talk about wanting to play in the CL rather than the EL even though they knew the EL is much easier to win?

In 5 years when both teams look back on 2024-25 who do you think will consider their season more successful?

An FA Cup isn't as good as a Europa League, but if you offered me an FA Cup and 10th for next season, I'd take that offer instantly. I never realised how starved I was for trophies until this week.
Would that save Ange? Absolutely not though. He's doubled down on something that is almost impossible (winning either the PL or the UCL)
Personally I’d take top 7 and a cup (league cup or fa cup) as progression and continuation but that’s not what the quaestion was. Ange’s words mean this is only bettered by two prizes, neither of which I think we can do.

I don't understand, why would I answer that specific question when I'm not even arguing that point? Are you actually reading my posts?

It's obvious CL is more prestigious than EL but WINNING a trophy is seen as a success and trumps all besides all that this isn't my point - you said that Woolwich were a European force, that's what I'm arguing against.

The stupid thing is that this debate kicked off when you said it was much more of an achievement getting to the CL final then it is winning the EL, then proceeded to tie yourself in knots claiming that Woolwich have achieved more than us this season which is downright bullshit and uber weird BTW for someone so desperate to paint such a narrative for us and our rivals, weird.

I think that is a fair bar, challenging for a domestic cup and top 7 should be achievable if we make a couple of transfers and stay relatively healthy

What do you expect him to say?1?
Alright guys, I'm off....because that's as good as it's going to get!!! :ange-bored2:

He might not be to everyones tastes, but in his speeches, he speaks like a true leader.
I don’t disagree. The players clearly love him and will have more belief now.

He believes in himself and that’s great. But the weight of his words mean that anything less than the CL or PL will be seen as him not backing it up.

Personally a top 7 league finish and one of the FA or League cups will be progress/success given the reality of the other, FWIW.

If I say how confident I am about this squad for next season, the usuals won’t be able to keep their shit together so I’ll save it for later.

Ange will go into recruitment phone calls on zoom with the 4 top buttons undone, chest hair and a gold chain swinging.
No I’m the same this squad badly needs an overhaul but it’s a big job, just say, now I’ve mentioned these two on the transfer thread we somehow land Eze & Mbeumo which the majority would be delighted with but for the good of the club and players themselves we shift Son, Davies, Forster, Richarlson & Reguilon
Okay Forster & Reguilon are not regular starters but they’re squad players we replace two and we’re 3 players down next season as much as I’m delighted we’re in the champions league, europe, league, league cup & F.A Cup + internationals that’s feckin brutal

I've been Ange out since Nov 2023 (and still am)
What's in it for Ange to stay ?
at the monment he is riding high, will he achieve the same or better next season ?
he must know he was close to losing his job,so start badly next season and he could be out

That's probably too optimistic. Better aim for near Relegation and winning the champions League cup 🙄
I'm asking Ange haters the question, so there is an expectation set.

For me top 7 and making a semi or final in a domestic cup should be enough to keep him around another season. It shows improvement in league whilst still being able to compete in cups. He will likely exceed this is we stay healthier than this year and make a few astute transfers.

I'm resigned to the fact that Ange is going to be here for another season, he's earned it with the cup win as far as I'm concerned but if I had my way I'd want us to part ways...regardless of this we could be setting ourselves up for another year with Ange then if he flops there's always the possibility of Poch in 2026...

So a top 5 finish and no trophies is acceptable to you?
I don't think a copy and paste of the first season is good enough. There needs to be something to show that we've stepped up a gear - I want to see a real, sustained run at the top of the league. We might not quite have what it takes to be league champions at this point but we need to be in the final shake up. He basically needs to emulate golden era Poch.

To fulfill his promise about the third season, I think we need to be looking at 3rd or higher. I would accept 5th and competitive performance in the cup competitions but 5th and crapping out in the cups - not good enough. Ange has promised progress and that's what he needs to deliver.

Jeez Louise.

Difficult right now to find a more miserable bunch of “supporters” than the Ange-out crew. In 40 years time, when your grandchildren ask you “where were you when Tottenham won the Europe League?”, do you really want to tell them “I was sitting in front of my computer, bagging the manager”?

You’ve been having a crack at him for God knows how long, and now that the season finale didn’t work out the way you wanted, you are standing there with egg on your face. Do you use this moment of history as an opportunity to flush the bile down the toilet, and give it a rest for a few days? No, you double down and spread your misery with even greater enthusiasm. Wow. Just wow.

While it is debatable that as of late January Ange downgraded the EPL and used it as a sandbox for the Europe League campaign - hey, it worked.

Every team at some point needs luck, on Wednesday we got some in respect we were playing a dogshit Utd team any other half decent team from any other country we’d have been in trouble but hey ho that’s how it goes…….Pochettino had luck in buckets on that run to the CL final we didn’t get there because we were good we got lucky……

Nothing lucky about that though is there, you can only play who's in front of you and Utd deserved to get to the final. We were arguably the favourites for a reason.

It's actually the opposite, we lost 3 key players and 3 creators, nothing lucky about that.

I agree, top 5 and competing in a cup should be where we get to to deem it a 'successful season' but I'm sure he is aiming even higher.

he told us he goes out to win every game, but now he says he sacked off the league in Feb to focus on EL
he told us he won't change and in the league he hasn't yet in EL we all see he changed, So why didn't he change in the league (rest players but play more defensive) we would have picked up more points, yes only got to around 10th (but thats a lot better then losing 21 games and finishing 17th)

Thanks Ange , like Ramos and Graham you won us a trophy but the league form over the last 18 months is relegation form and I cannot believe we would be willing to risk another season with this guy again . Mutual consent , thanks for Bilbao but the constant no shows in the league or willingness to adapt your style tells me we need a change . If paratici is coming back I’d be shocked if he advised levy to keep this guy on . Time for this club to be serious

Whilst the success of this season (winning a trophy) will be forever in the history books, in the short term it will be forgotten soon enough.

More significantly it's the moment where a long held and lazy toxic narrative about the club has finally shifted. Everyone around the club, certainly the manager but also our owners and our supporters; we have to do everything in its power not to lose that next season.

We must consolidate now and not backside. A domestic trophy is actually really important for this, coupled with a respectable, European qualifying league position.

I'm not convinced that ange is the answer but, after landing the club a trophy in can't see Levy getting rid just yet.
We are all caught up in the emotional element of it and quite rightly.
I think the club will allow him to continue if though, its following the same pattern as this season then he gets binned.
His statement about the third season was uplifting, although he has put himself under pressure with it but, he is installing a positive and winning mindset.

He was just talking about Breaking Bad Season 3, not sure where you are drawing conclusions from haha.

In seriousness though, would you sack him if he won champions league and we finished 10th?

LISTEN MATE!

Was out after his poor league form.
Was back in after seeing the reporters wind him up.
All in now.

What's our goals next year?
He wants more.

A new manager will only want CL place.

Plus our goal difference and injured defence hints at a team who can be better.

I want him to get in more fights with reporters and be Top of the League:)

COYS MATE
