I honestly don't think a decision has been made to continue with Ange, it's too soon after Wednesday. If it has, it's purely emotional and we should all be really worried that our chairman is making such a huge decision like that when he's drunk or hungover on vibes and champagne and not thinking clearly.

Yes I do think that he is trying to make himself unsackable with that line.

The quotes about unfinished business, that line tonight, he's sending a message to Levy and the board that he wants to stay and deliver more. But he shouldn't get that chance.

Unfortunately I'm not falling for his bullshit and I hope the club don't either.

I can just imagine starting next season utter shit, and he'll start wheeling out the old excuses again, injuries, too many games, CL such a big step up, squad not big enough. He'll spin it, and some people on here will be falling over to excuse him yet again.

No, thanks. .This league season was enough for me, he needs to go. I can't accept what he delivered in the league, being absolutely battered by every team we came up against. One night in Bilbao doesn't change that for me. It just makes his departure be on better terms.

Unfortunately I am worried the club may make the wrong decision and we will suffer for it all next year, and all this goodwill and momentum will vanish.
Those who banged on about how many goals we scored well we now ended up with minus one. That is with us playing a totally defensive game today. So that is 61 last season and 65 this year. How can we expect season 3 to be better. He ain’t winning the CL nor the league.

All the songs and chanting likely tipped the scale too we get carried away without realising the fundamental issues of a 22 defeats in the league that's derby county 08 level bad
I certainly hope that's not the case. It won't be worth following the team next season if Ange is in charge. Not good for the health and it's also too predictable. Unless we play relegation stuff, we're almost certain to lose.

Europa absolutely saved our season. I find it a bit ironic that we won it playing the exact opposite of 'ANGEBALL' and it boggles my mind a bit that he could adapt there but not elsewhere. I think we have struggled quite a lot in the second half of this season to create chances, get people forward and looking threatening and yet so weak and easily penetrated at the other end. I think he'll get the start of next season now but if he starts off with 4 or 5 defeats in our first 6 or 7 games following on from this season he should be sacked.

100%. The decision was taken weeks ago so I'll be shocked if they change their mind based on Wednesday.

It explains why Ange is saying what he is saying in public. Bit of a last attempt to influence the situation in his favour.

Sunday will be a celebatory atmosphere, and obviously the result won't matter, but it will bring people back down to earth with a bump if we lose. It will be a reminder that this is the club under Ange in the PL, constant defeats.
We lost 1-4 and were completely out played. Understandable to some extent however the inability of our players to keep the ball is shocking. We can’t string 5 passes together. You’d think after 2 years we would have system of play that was now I grained into players and it was telepathic almost using muscle memory. We actually no identify in a style of football. We offer nothing going forward and teams just waltz through us even with everyone back.

He has no incentive to walk out of his own accord. Zero.

A kind of mutual agreement where he receives only a portion of his payout would obviously lose him money, but also leave him with nowhere to go. Due to his very underwhelming CV for this level, it's highly improbable that he'll get another job this big. If he were to leave he would probably be left not only with less money but also with a smaller job. Makes zero sense from his perspective to downgrade like that, fresh off of by far the biggest accomplishment of his life.

Unless he's done with management for good and wants to walk into the sunset, it's sensible for him to hold on to this job until he gets the boot. He would lose whatever goodwill he has earned in the last few days, but I highly doubt he cares.

He won’t leave on his own, I think he made that clear. At best, it will be “by mutual consent” if he goes. He has a contract so if we let him go he gets paid out. I think he gets another job fairly quickly but he’s not going onto something bigger.
