Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

At best, it will be “by mutual consent” if he goes.
That's my point though, now that he won this trophy even a mutual agreement makes no sense for him.

Why would he lose money (compared to the scenario where he gets full compensation by waiting to get sacked) AND move on to a smaller job AFTER reaching the biggest height of his managerial career? In his mind he would be succeeding downwards.

This cup win has changed the whole dynamic of this situation. He has the leverage now. He either keeps the biggest job of his life, or gets sacked with his reputation intact+ a hefty payout in his pocket. Win-Win for him.

The sensible thing is to part by mutual consent and everyone walks away happy.

But his third season comments have now made that much harder.
Sensible for who? And 'everyone' walks away happy, are you sure? As others have said, why on earth would Ange agree to leave now? Surely it's totally in his interest to dig his heels in and make them fire him? Why would he leave 'by mutual consent', what's in that for him? :/

Leaving on a high note and looking relatively good instead of further spiralling downwards?

Season 3 will be better than season 2 lol.

OK we might finish 16th lol
Man, say we keep the Blob from start to finish next season and finish P10-12 in the league (with circa 15 defeats) + reach the Carabao Cup semis and make it out of the league phase in the CL (only to lose in the next round)...I bet you so many on here would be delighted, say it's proper progress and dead exciting for the future, that Ange deserves a 4th season, that them players are heroes/legends etc. And Levy would love them for it, like he's loving them right now.

He probably thinks that he has Levy by the balls now but I wouldn't be so sure.

Levy can easily delegate this decision to Vinai and/or Paratici. They will be coming in as new voices that are willing to stamp their own mark on the club.
It was definately a 'your going to have sack me' comment. But yeah even its Levy he sacked the popular Jol, he sacked Rednkapp after finishing 4th, he sacked Poch 6 months after getting to a CL final.

I was 100% he would be gone even with the win but started to have my doubts given the last few days but i think this is a timely reminder and they cant take the risk keeping him

This team on paper is a top 8 team. We’ve bought a lot of youngsters for the future and they are central to our post poch - squeeze a lemon, kick a dead horse - out of his team that he himself needed refreshing. But we need champions league players if we are going to play in the champions league and giving a new manager a young squad on the up with CL money. We are a hot prospect. And we can do much better than ange

If people are rethinking now what will it be like next season after the first bad defeat or two which will likely be pretty early. Paratici and Vinai aren't going to have his back like Munn had. It would be a madness to continue. Great time for all concerned to shake hands and move on.
What a "proper " coach can do to improve a teams play has been shown by Glasner at Palace

The before and after are like night and day

We have some good player but the coaching ( or lack of it ) is abysmal

People will look down on him because he's managing Brentford.

Brentford who have comfortably finished above us with a fraction of the budget.
I was talking to my old man about him at half time, and put Eddie Howe up as a comparison. He worked a lot of miracles at Bournemouth, but couldn't maintain it as he had the best of his team sold from under him.

He then got the Newcastle gig and, after a bit of up and down, has got them both a cup and CL. Maybe by the skin of his teeth, but he's still building a squad to compete at the very highest level.

I can see that kind of managerial ability in Frank TBH. He may not have any honours to his name as yet, but every manager starts out at 0 until they get the opportunity.

Of course there will be reservations, but his actual abilities as a coach shouldn't really be up for questioning.

If we do part ways with AP, which I do think will be the upshot regardless, we could do a lot worse than Frank.
