Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Can’t believe some people want to replace Ange with a manager he’s never lost to in 4 games, winning 3 of them

I thought Frank was supposed to be a tactical genius?

Is this not a bit of a basic way of looking at it though mate?

I mean, Van Nistelrooy beat Ange, so would you go for him first? Ange beat Pep’s City, so is Ange better than Pep? (*looks to see Harry7 running over the hill*).

Can’t judge it as basic as this, Ange winning the final has made some on here absolutely deny or forget him losing 22 games this season, and I know, he said he deliberately sacked the league off, and of course he didn’t just start saying that after we won the trophy to try and cover it up or give it a positive look…

I think your worries about Frank are fair enough, he isn’t top of my list, but if it is him, I think he’s a good manager, with a lot of scope to grow and improve and take us with him. I’m curious to see what he could do with a better squad and some more cash.

Can’t judge people just based on who they took points off the season before.

That the same Brentford Ange beat twice last season ? And did we lose to them the season before ?

Ange is lacking and needs to go, but replacing him with a manager he beat twice in the terrible season that has just gone past is a test of logic too.
Sherwood beat Poch twice in his spell and again when he went to Villa. I get people aren't sold on Frank but the defeats to us shouldnt really come into it.

Thomas Frank is an upgrade to this guy. Love the cup. But getting 17th in the league is a absolutely unacceptable
Could it no be possible that next season with additional squad members and a fit squad that wouldn’t have been the case next time round? Besides Frank if it’s him do you honestly think he’s gonna guide us through a season of premier league, champions league, F.A Cup & league cup matches

What's your rationale for keeping Ange? It seems to me to be the fear of what might happen, obfuscating the view of the very grim reality we are faced with at present, which is a man whom, when faced with the prospect of 4 competitions (one of which he went out of in the 2nd game we played in) managed to muster 38 points?

I feel you're intelligent enough to know exactly how facetious it is to compare finishing mid table with a team like Brentford and their resources, with finishing 17th with the ninth richest club in the world.

My rationale is simple.

This is the guy that got the monkey off our back and won us a trophy, he’s earned his shot. The pressure for him to play strong teams in the cups isn’t as high. He got 5th in his first season, with the squad behind him, there’s every chance he gets them back to that kind of form. Especially now the medical department and support staff around him is stabilized now.

The players love him and believe him when he says “do this and you’ll win” because he’s proved it to them. I don’t want to lose guys like Romero and watch this club go cheap and shitter with his replacement. We’ve always needed winners at this club. Let’s keep the one we have now.

He’s very fucking handy when it comes to selling the club for recruitment. It was his phone call that sold this club to Van de Ven…. Imagine we are going after an Eze or Xavi Simons. Several times Ange calls persuaded players to come here instead of Frank and Brentford. Bergvall would probably be a Brentford player if we had Frank and they had Ange.

Yeah its either the immense charms of Ange or its the much higher wages and significantly bigger club.

Frank won’t wins the title. But would make us constantly finish between 3rd and 6th
To some extent I think being tactically astute and having good game management (two things I think Frank definitely does well) is all you can really ask for from a manager in terms of team performance, motivation does come into it a lot but by all accounts he is also a fantastic man motivator. The rest of the difference between 6th, 3rd and 1st is squad assembly. Make no mistake without superstar buys Van Dijk and Alisson and astute purchases like Salah, Firmino, Mane, Klopp does fuck all with Liverpool. I think there's nothing to say Frank can't go the same route as Poch but get luckier at the final hurdle stage because we don't need to fuck the transfer market off for 2 seasons while we pay for the stadium this time around. It's impossible to say what Frank's ceiling is and anyone writing him off and saying he's not a sexy enough name must have a fucking short memory about the last couple of sexy names we brought in.

Doesn't sit right with me sacking a bloke after he delivered us our best moment in over 40 years.

But what will be worse if he is kept on until November and we are then languishing bottom half and then everyone is giving him shit. If he goes now with some decency it will be better than later in the year. However, I'm still not certain sacking him for some managers mentioned will be enough PR wise for most fans. Eg. Frank who I like as a manager doesnt exactly get the pulses racing. I think Inzaghi or Poch is who it has to be and if they cant get them they will keep him until the November scenario unfolds.

13th, 9th, 16th & 10th. Cups zero.

5th,17th and Europa League.

Can’t see the clear upgrade as yet mate. Sorry.

Possibly he has more to offer, tactically, but then Tim Der Wood also had that advantage.

The risk with Frank has to be similar to Nuno, he holds little advantage in the dressing rooms.
you cant be serious when you're comparing his results with brentford directly to spurs? are spurs and brentford on the same level?
