I think that's weak argument really.

It wasn't a few quid from league positions - we've broken records for ineptitude in the league and have average a point per game over the whole season.

If Levy was only concerned about money this argument wouldn't make sense. Finishing 7th and not winning the Europa would have kept him employed whilst being far, far, FAR less profitable for the club.

In this sense he was effectively sacked in January but we've let him see out the Europa - a criticism that was levied (pun intended) against the Mourinho sacking.
It’s basically his own fault if he gets sacked. If he had scraped into 10th or 11th he’d probably be alright. That was more than achievable. Instead like a moron he just decides fuck it we can just give up every league game. Resting everyone and sending the signal the league games didn’t matter at all.

He sacked himself basically.

So on that basis you’d say pre-Spurs Poch was a worse manager than Ange?!

The trophy win was absolutely amazing, but don’t kid yourself that numerous previous managers such as Poch, Jose, Conte, even sodding Sherwood put in the same position couldn’t have delivered that trophy with the run we had in the Europa.
Jose had the chance he was shit

A) And Howe did similarly well at Bournemouth yet has been a big success at Newcastle. Frank has a lot more about him than Potter does btw.

B) Tuchel was/is a very good coach, but he won the actual European cup. His issue was falling out with their board.

Last season there were serious rumblings about Howe’s situation even Jose was being mentioned as a replacement- Newcastle stuck with him for previously qualifying for the CL, he’s now won a Carabou Cup.

Tuchel’s falling out is because he was 10th and Chelsea had a poor transfer window after he won them the CL with Mount, Timo Werner and Havertz.
Potter was that bright thing flying with mid table Brighton. Expectations ain’t the same.

Nuno did exceptional at Wolves and now Forest.

And yes Pochetinno did well at Southampton and excelled with us. But as with Potter and Frank won nothing.

Burden of expectation at Spurs is huge (despite what Harry Kane says about if we lose it’s no big deal it’s a massive deal)

Only at Spurs do we win our first major piece of silverware since 1984. Sack the manager and go afterThe Brentford manager who *checks notes* finished 10th...

And then we all debate for thousands of hours of type on here why this club is such a basket case...

Maybe you all think signing Frank means Mbeumo comes with... I've got no other explanation..

This is Brentford who had no European football and barely any injuries to contend with.

Madness if true
😭

He also pulled shit like cupping his ear towards our fans, squaring up to fans, and generally just being an idiot because he couldn't handle the premier league week to week.

Guy can't get a handle on his own ego. After the season we've had he's talking about season three being even better than two. Mate, you were always going to be lucky to stay in the job after this shit. Acting like he'd just won the champions league FFS.

People are so convinced about how amazing his achievement is, let's see what clubs line up to offer him a job after his time here, let's see how many genuinely think he's a "winner" based on that and the calibre of sides willing to give him an interview.

I dread to think how fucking entitled he will be next season if we roll with him to start with. Just an absolute insufferable cunt in every single interview until he's gone probably.
He will never find work in a top European league again, no club with decent resources is ever going to take such a suicidal risk on a marginal chance of a positive cup outcome and no team with limited resources is going to look at his suicidal football and think "this screams stability to me".

Deep down even his biggest apparent supporters know that him leaving now is the perfect ending all round, they won’t admit it and have to act otherwise but we all know it’s true, he somewhat salvaged his reputation and will now to many look like a victim, now is definitely the moment.

Fair enough mate. We just disagree.

The Europa win was magnificent. A super achievement.

For me, and I think many others, the bread and butter of the league has shown a coach who won't deliver.

Last season actually showed more concern than this, where we finished outside of the CL positions, with no distraction. This season,league-wise just went from bad to worse. That's not sustainable, and a bad start next season could have serious ramifications.
Yeah I appreciate that because I watch games on tv and there were games last season that I didn’t watch out which I just don’t do I watch them from the first to the last minute, it must have been a chore actually going to games in the league! Winning the Europa through a curve ball at Levy cos if we’d lost we’d no be having this discussion he’d be gone by now! Personally I as I said by winning the cup he deserved to start the campaign but as you’ve stated we could start the league and lose the first two, three games and we’re fucked then every club has their manager in place only ones that are available are available for a reason.

To be honest, I think if he does get sacked, then it is because the club have seen through the bullshit that is the idea that he chose to not take the league seriously. He has been consistently found out in the league for the majority of the last 2 years, and it clearly hasn't been injuries or any other mitigating factor because we have been the same with and without a full squad in the league.

Winning a cup and getting relegated didn't do much for Swansea, Wigan, or Birmingham - so we shouldn't be so tin pot to accept it ourselves

I loved the Europa League run but if we’re being honest we had a fortunate series of ties in the knockout stage.

Do those who want Ange to stay actually envisage a future where the big man is able to maintain top 6 position in the league while also performing in the cups?

I’m sorry but even with the most rose tinted glasses it has been clear for about 8 months that Ange Postecoglu hasn’t got a single clue how to maintain any kind of level in the league or even string a couple of consecutive wins together. I’m afraid the posthumous assertions by Ange that the focus completely changed to the Europa League is both disingenuous and disconcerting. So he just threw the league? We were bloody lucky that the bottom 3 were so shit, in many other seasons we would’ve been relegated.

Thanks a million Ange, but I don’t trust you to take this team up a level next season. That’s what happens when you finish 17th in the league, people doubt your ability. It’s not crazy to think this way.

Ange has taken us far too close to the relegation places with only Europa League football to contend with - a competition where the league phase can be navigated with quite a lot of rotated lineups.

It would be an incredible gamble from Levy to give Ange another go with a much tougher competition to go alongside the league games. Our league form for the past 50 odd games is pretty bad and has been downright awful the longer the season went on.

Any new manager is a gamble, but the bigger gamble in my opinion is keeping Ange and crossing our fingers.

Little babies. Trio of terror along with Shady. I might be an annoying cunt but I at least have the self awareness to see that unlike those contrarians.

I'm very, very glad to have upset/annoyed the biggest Ange fanboys on the forum. Badge of motherfucking honour.

The worst part about it is the complete inability to simply agree to disagree. So somebody else has a different opinion? Should you just accept it and be brave enough to live in a world where people disagree with you, or do you need to try and police everyone's opinion, and then try and tar everyone as "disloyal" who won't agree with you?

If you end up resorting to option #2, you're just not mentally strong or mature enough to handle free speech. End of.
