For a start, don't "you people man" me, pal.

Instead of looking for a fight or comparing me with someone who shits on the CL, maybe you actually should read my posts and try & understand my rationale. But maybe balanced views aren't your thing.
Absolutely nobody has done that btw, this guy is just making up absurdities to argue against because the ridiculous hypothetical the Ange fanatics have dreamed up has no substantial argument in their favour...

Poch's priority was top 4 - above all else. There was no pressure to win anything, and no compromises made to try and win a domestic cup.

Our Champions League run to the final resulted in 3 wins from our final 12 league games as he rested players and played weakened teams in the league. It was only through shockingly bad Woolwich and United end of season run that we got 4th; and we were just a few points away from ending up 6th.
Totally delusional downplaying Poch and trying to make out Ange is a better coach!

Ange has lost more league games in a season than Poch did over a three year period.

Stop drinking the Ange Kool Aid it’s fried your brain!

Love calling bullshit out when I see it.

You can't fluke 15 matches in a competition including winning it. You can be Ange Out all you like, the 22 defeats are a stain that will more than likely see him gone.

But calling the EL win a fluke pours water over the achievement and shits on every fan that turned up in Bilbao as well as went to celebrate at the parade, so FUCK THAT!

Don't get me started on some of the slop we've served up in cup competitions over the past decade or more.
Fluke? No.

But you can be "overpowered" for it.
The only club we faced in the entire tournament with resources close to us was Man United and they're worse than we are.

So no, it's not a fluke. But Ange was lucky in the sense he was allowed to keep losing week after week in the premier league, and continue to manage wins on Thursdays.

ANY OTHER manager prior to him would have been sacked before getting to the final and, ultimately winning it.
He was afforded a privilege none prior have been. And in a way, that is his fluke.

If the football had been better and instead of 22 defeats they were halved and we’d finished 7th but no Europa cup win would that have been better received ?

That's a very good question.

Even more interesting is: what if the NEXT manager achieves 7th and no cups next season with better football will that be received well? I reckon the answer is probably "yes". Especially if we don't spend well in the window.

It does feel like its a 50/50 between keeping Ange and hiring Frank at this stage. Sounds like frank has beaten off all the other competition.

Sounds like the board have already interviewed Frank and want to give him the job. Paratici is definitely in the Frank camp anyway! While the players are very much behind Ange and probably pushing back against the board and club. We are all assuming Levy gets the final say but its hard to know if its all being left with him either. This new CEO might have a say in it too. Its rare that you get such a huge split between all the players and all the board members. Someone needs to make the decision and a lot of people won't be happy with the outcome either way.

I say give him the job if he wants it that badly

I'd take poch every time over Ange. Never saw poch have a go at the fans and use every excuse for when we got beat. It was the best football I've seen us play. That team should have won trophys. Never saw Poch chuck the league away. Ange is an arsehole and an arrogant tosser.
This is pretty revisionist. Poch was talking himself away from the club late winter, league form collapsed (6 wins in the last 15) and players like Eriksen completely checked out mentally.

I’ll always love our time under Poch but we lost that CL final well before a ball was even kicked and we were only there because of some miraculous play by Moura.

Regardless of what was happening behind closed doors with Levy, he caused that. I wouldn’t want him back tbh.

Agree, the only logical conclusion is that he's leaving. What they are waiting for, who knows? Maybe they want him back from the vacation so they can tell him in person. Or they are trying to seal a deal with the replacement. I don't know.

But I agree, the time it takes too communicate points towards him leaving.

The other possibility is that he's not leaving and they feel no need to state that he's not until he is. He still does have 2 years to run on his contract.

Really good post.

The fluke or fortune was the continued stay i in the role, despite the weekly embarrassments.

Arguably call that Levy's foresight or good luck as well.

But now the guillotine.

I think a lot of people ranting about the lack of manager news aren’t appreciating the level of change going on right now.

Board members are resigning, we have a new CEO, Paratici is coming back, Mason has left, Munn will be sacked, Ange will be sacked, the medical department have already been sacked. It’s frustrating that we are in this situation but understandable that there isn’t much output from the club at the moment.
Think it's more to do with football fans generally being overgrown, spoilt children.
Some of the protestations remind me of the spoilt brat in Willy Wonka.
"I want a golden goose and I want it NOW"

I mean, Wrexham are kinda high profile these days. But think their guys probably better qualified than Flange.

Frankly they should have known before the final, if they changed their mind based on that 90 minutes of garbage then we have very worrying people in charge.
This is even worse than United and Ten Egg last year after the FA cup.

It was a pretty obvious decision to boot him out but you could at least make a case to keep him:

Beat the best team in the country in the final
the best performance of the season
About the only time he could claim he had his best XI
And beat LFC on the way to the final too (absolute fluke but hey)

Like I said it was a ridiculous decision. I was rooting for United that day on the off chance that they might keep him and blow me down they did!!!

With us?

We won a cup that we were favourites to win before a ball had been kicked
Lucked out with playing the likes of Bodo United and not Lyon Bilbao.
The final was just an embarrassing Allardyce/Pulis - score one and then boot the ball up to the half way line and hope they don't equalise. I cannot remember a worse match to watch that we won going back to 1969-70 season.

Cannot believe that Levy hasn't looked at the PL form and realised what a shit show it's been

The guy's toast. Thousands of STs would walk away after the garbage that Fatso has served up. I'm sure the sponsors would have an opinion and I bet he'd listen to them
