Oh right, so nothing then.

I think I am using a bit of artistic licence but it should be somewhat clear. I will try again.

If fans think Postecoglou deserves another season or few games, on what basis, aside from winning the Europa?
I’m in the camp that just wants a decision, so I have no axe to grind either way.

I am not averse to Ange being given a chance on the basis that, under him, we won the Europa. You know, the manager who delivered our first proper trophy in 17 years, and our first European trophy in 41 years.

Equally, I have no problem if he gets sacked because we lost 22 games in the league. You know, the manager who delivered our worst league performance since most of us can remember.

Ange has been very candid about this.

He works with the club's recruitment setup to identify the general needs of the squad, the backroom staff does the scouting and identifies potential deals, and Ange then wants to personally discuss with the player to make sure there's alignment on what the player's goals are, and he needs to personally approve every move.

He discussed Gray specifically, saying that he considered that a more senior player might help the team more, but he didn't want to be "sitting in a rocking chair someday saying he could have signed Archie Gray".

Werner was another one, that it wasn't a deal he pushed for or had on his radar, but the club brought it to him as a possibility and he thought it was an exciting idea.

They aren't winning every move, but this is a much healthier process than we've heard about under previous managers.
I don't actually hate our summer window the way other people do I will be honest with you, I think Gray will eventually be class under the right manager, Odobert could still be anything with the shit start he had with the injuries, striker was an obvious need even if you debate whether Solanke was the right player especially at £65m, but again will be a good forward under the right manager regardless of whether we overpaid, you'd probably like to see us buy in a shit hot youngster to share minutes with him and sell Richy at this point though.
However, if Ange himself has said he was trying to avoid the opportunity cost of missing out on Gray rather than buying a senior player, he is then responsible for us "having to rely on teenagers for depth", no? Sounds to me like he very much had the choice of putting his foot down on the matter, and much as I think Gray is a good player and will be a great one, if Ange was aware we wouldn't have the funds to do both (we can't be expected to know that as fans when judging a signing good or bad when coming in) he should have said no.

Rightio.

I am clear. 22 league defeats deserves no more chances. I don't care what was won besides.

Fans will walk if that happens again, in my opinion.

Alex Crook:”Frank’s got quite a hefty compensation clause in his contract a costly decision that Daniel Levy would have to make and we all know he doesn’t particularly like spending money”

Seriously Crook, fuck off and keep fucking off until you reach the sign that reads fuck off some more…when you gonna start calling him Fagin you cunt? Levy spends fucking plenty but spends it poorly. Absolute cunt stain

He’s still incredibly salty following his steadfast prediction of ‘I can’t see United losing this!’

Brilliant!

I’ll admit I have a strong dislike of Ange and want him gone but I can still be grateful for him leading us to Europa League glory, the 2 things aren’t mutually exclusive - a bit like in pre ww2 Italy I’m sure there were plenty of people who hated Mussolini but were grateful he got the trains running on time…

He absolutely co-authored the plan to have Gray, Bergvall and Odobert as significant presences in the Europa League campaign at the group stage and slowly bed them in in the league. Perfectly sensible on paper.

And then because Ange puréed the hamstrings of the whole squad that plan got shot to shit and we had no Odobert and Gray playing out of position 180 minutes a week for two months.

Ange isn't some helpless innocent in anything that happened. But how do we make the best of moving forward?

Come on, we're all waiting patiently for the announcement.

Yeah so my point there would be Man United and Chelsea should be finishing above us every season. We don't invest enough into our squad. We don't sign any elite players on top wages.

Obviously coming 17th is a disgrace and a complete underachievement but he did win the Europa League so for me that balances out to be an acceptable season. We came 5th the season before which was also an acceptable season. I just am not convinced a new manager is going to get tonnes of improvement out of us.

We pay the same wages as clubs like west ham and fulham! We are constantly trying to punch above our weight under this ownership. Maybe it is time for Ange to go. As I've already said I'm neutral on it. But the manager is not the problem at this club. Never was and never will be. We've much bigger issues!
My counter point to that would be, how many players were already superstars when Klopp bought them at Liverpool? They were pretty far removed from any meaningful success themselves at that point, well over a decade since the CL win, consistently finishing below us apart from the one Brenda year they nearly won the league. Guys like Salah, Firminho, Mané were not high fees even in the time period and none of them were sure fire successes when they came in. VVD in my opinion really only fits into the Richy/Solanke mold of transfer, I would be willing to bet he didn't sign for 200k/week initially. Liverpool themselves have a significantly lower wage bill even now than the likes of Woolwich, City, United and Chavs, sitting somewhere roughly in the middle of us and those clubs, yet won the league this season. Of course they can now afford to reap the benefits of their recent success and level up to signing the likes of Wirtz. We built the Poch team on a lower budget with a bigger disparity to the clubs we were challenging at the time until the core of the team had signed bumper contracts.

You are right, we will need to be operated in an incredibly astute manner with these owners to achieve consistent success, which begins with finding the right man to really align the actions of the scouting department and the board with the aims of the manager, make best use of the resources at their disposal, and find a way to utilise every drop of potential in all the squad players. Ange is clearly not that man if he is using his heart rather than his head in signing 18 year olds at the expense of an established senior pro.

I don't think that is what is being said. It is perfectly reasonable to want Ange gone. In fact I actually would be relieved if I hear he gets sacked today! I'm 50/50 on it and really just want a decision made ASAP. I'll support whoever is our manager next season.

The issue is some fans clearly hate Ange on a personal level and have zero respect for him. I find that behavior strange. He did win us a trophy and deserves some credit for that. There is a narrative built on here that Ange is a total fraud and will never get a managerial job again.
again, you're willfully obtuse and twisting the truth. why can't you guys make a case in good faith? there are obvious reasons said over and over why people like me don't like him personally. there's nothing 'strange' about it. and no one is saying he's a 'total fraud' and will 'never get a managerial job again'. we're saying he's a fraud at this level and won't work in a big league again.

the fact that you have to exaggerate and shade the truth makes you look weak but, your arguments are weak so no surprise there. what even is your argument? are you just having a go at fellow spurs so you can feel righteous? get over yourself don
