Ange after being relieved of his duties:

Sad Money GIF by G2 Esports

The man won us a trophy. Gave the club a wonderful night in our footballing history. Will forever be a legend. He can leave with his head held high. Promised a trophy and delivered it.
If he had stayed on he would have been out the door by Christmas.
Good luck big fella. Thanks for everything

Some intellectually challenged fans on here think because we have management team paid to make decisions, they must be good decisions.

The decision yesterday was taken on the following premise:

We can either invest in the squad and build from here with Ange.
Or we can pay off Ange and pay to bring in a Thomas Frank.
Ange may well have brought glory, but the investment would have been more financially burdensome than bringing in a compliant Frank.
With Frank there is a high risk we won't do anything special but a low risk of relegation.
We can continue to bolster company revenues via other stadium uses regardless of Champions League involvement, which we do not expect with Frank after our projected exit in Q4 2025.

Based on the above, let's avoid squad investment and spend the total 20m sacking Ange and appointing Frank. We've conditioned a large part of the support for this change already so they will continue to spend with us.
We may lose some players but the transfer revenues will be welcome, and Frank will not complain.

Like the guy or not but for someone to come to Spurs and then double down on the always winning something in his second season and then to follow it through, that takes some balls, I will never forget seeing Sonny lift that trophy , and for that I’m grateful of what Ange achieved with us!
Like he said , they all laughed when he said it , but who is laughing now! :angecup:

Simply not the case. The consensus is this was a terrible decision we will pay dearly for

How can we pay more dearly than finishing 17th? You think the next manager will get us relegated? Ange obviously had a good rapport with the players, the tried their hardest to follow his instructions even when they were incredibly stupid. Most players would have downed tools and got him sacked way back in November. That is special no doubt, he is definitely a good man manager.

But that's only a small part of the game. A manager also needs to have football intelligence, knowledge and humility and Ange doesn't have those things. That 3-2 game against Everton away is the defining one of Ange's tenure for me. A horrendously arrogant set-up from the first whistle that showed no respect for the opponent or the basic principles of the game. Despite changing to a team with 5 defenders he refused to actually play defensively, telling Gray to just leave the RCB spot and go roaming around upfield along with everyone else. We go 3-0 down before HT. Second half he adjusts and we threaten to take a draw. You can say we showed character but the lack of football acumen makes it very difficult to win with character alone. That's what Ange is, a character. That's not enough at the top level.

That's fucking depressing.

But accurate.

We got 38 fucking points you dick

He had to go

Also I legit think if we turned in a performance in the final league game of the season against Brighton and won that game it'd really have given Levy food for thought but instead we got humiliated and I'm sure he knew then there was no letting this guy have another season.

I was hoping to see some change, obviously balanced against hangovers and all that, but it just looked the same as any other game that season.

I mean, if the players go out and lose 4-1 to teams like Brighton, it either means:
  • The players aren't good enough, or;
  • The tactics/selection isn't good enough, or;
  • The players don't know how to put the tactics into place on the pitch, or;
  • The players aren't putting the effort in for the manager.
So I find it really delusion for the players to be acting like they were playing under prime Guardiola. It doesn't add up to be playing that badly and yet still react as they have.

Who is next?

Thomas Frank will be in par with Ange.
Poch will be a re-marriage which never works.
Then we have Silva , Iraloa and Glasner.
Not much CL experience really.

I would go for the PSG guy and give him loads of money to bring the PL to N17.

I bet Levy has a surprise in his sleeves.
