Like I said in another thread, the club's problem is identity execution, not identity choice.

They pick a philosophy and fail to finish building the squad to support it.

Then change philosophy before it’s complete

Until the club commits to one tactical model for 3-4 years with aligned recruitment, the cycle will repeat. Ange said this.

Now the issue we have is that management appointed this nuffie called Thomas Frank who has put us in danger of relegation, at least Ange sacrificed the league for a trophy, and bled some juniors during his 2nd season, Frank has no excuses.
 
Scoring goals is the toughest thing to get right. Setting up a side that attacks beyond all else takes a long time and a fuck load of patience. I still believe Ange would have got it right and we’d have seen us have a decent season this time before really kicking on next. We’ll never know though.

Frank came in, did the easy things, put men behind the ball, pumped it long, hoping for set pieces. We have been like a rugby team, kicking for touch. And he still made a cunt of it.

Ange may have also been making a cunt of it, but he was the epitome of To Dare Is To Do. The next guy needs to be one of them too.

Footballs turning more and more into some sort of weird soap opera or reality television where the drama, the gossip or being able to go "ooooooooh" about some salacious rumour, are more important than the actual football.
