The idea that players like Ange and fight for him is a bit revisionist. By the end of last term it was reported that most the squad had given up on him. And its not like he was any better off - we were a very poor 17th last year. No one seemed to be fighting for him at all.

If we were in the EL this season, there'd be every chance we could do the same as we did last season based on the level of the competition.
I don't think it's that revisionist. They clearly just tuned off for the league. Look at the Europa games. Played a completely different style, wasn't pretty, but it masked our weaknesses, we didn't concede goals and won a trophy. Players clearly loved him, as they've said post Ange. How many have come out and said they loved working with Frank?

Those reports contradict anything said by any of the players. I'll take a primary account as opposed to secondary sources.

Preaching to the choir, I've long considered myself the last member of AVB's blue and white army. Didn't do himself any favours, but he was better than remembered and did a lot of heavy lifting for the squad/tactical rebuild that gave Poch a strong foundation.
I think people remember a thrashing from Liverpool and a few other heavy defeats which resulted in him being sacked.

Overall though he won more percentage of matches than any of our other managers since WW2.

Hello. It would be interesting to know what your current (realistic) solution is to get us out of our current demise?

Not keen on Ange? Fine...if not then who?

Not the guy with a 0% premier league win rate this season and a 26% win rate the season before.

People are just obsessed with the guy.

I’d throw in a wildcard at De Zerbi or the house at Dyche before turning to Ange. First I’d probably give the guy we literally appointed 5 whole minutes ago more than a few games to do something.

Dyche has turned us down apparently and I said realistic, De Zerbi ain't happening.

Interesting, having observed how this squad has been with Frank and now Tudor wharf makes you believe they'll respect and listen to Dyche ? Who was also sacked by forest in short order

De zerbi however would be an excellent get, but seems unlikely

They tuned out of the league in August?

Come on now. Ange was shit for 18 months. Trying to cover it up by saying they prioritized the EL instead of the league is revisionist. That was the case for the last couple months of the last season, but that's it. Before that we were still shit when the league was the priority.

Shots on goal 3-16
Possession 27%-73%
Succesful passes 61%

I loved the result, the day, the celebration.... but it was just another pathetic game of football against an equally bad team with a lucky outcome and no tactical masterclass.

Could equally be said of the 2019 Champions League Final ; I’m sorry you aren’t able to vent your disappointment, in the same way , about that game . Which we lost btw .

There’s ultimately only one thing that matters in any final ; why be critical when we actually don’t come second for once .

Very inconsistent form , win one, lose one type stuff. Probably would've seen us finish 13/14th
Wasn't until after we beat az to get to Qtr final in march that we then went on to loose nearly every league game for the rest of the season

Somewhat similar to this season really, except the Kudus injury was the singularity rather than a last 16 win

It's because he won silverware, and it's blinkered the opinions of to many fans.

They all got caught up in a magical moment and completely forget the rest of the absolute shit show around it, including the performance of the game itself.

Respect him for winning the cup yes, but don't excuse the rest of the shit that fat Aussie prick did and how far back he set us, along with that bald prick that hired him.

We were fine til the injuries started and we had to play Gray and Davies at CB, and we had a full first team out for months on end. When they came back around Match/April, there was nothing to play for on the league. You're being revisionist, and not doing a very good at it either.

I'm not an Ange fan in any capacity. He should've been sacked the summer before that in my opinion.

They were fighting for themselves in the EL, and their chances to play in the CL this season without him. They wouldn't have played like utter shite for him in the league for 18 months if they liked him.

We won the EL in spite of him and his buffoonery, not because of it. Ange is a charlatan.
Yeah that’s why practically every player posted heartfelt messages when he left. Because that’s what you do when you don’t like someone, right? Remind me how many bothered to do that for Frank? 2? And speaking of Frank, I’m sure it was just sheer coincidence that Romero decided to post his tribute to Postecoglou minutes after the club announced his successor. Riiiiight.

Whatever you think of the guy and the job he did, it’s clear he was very well liked and respected by the group. Suggesting otherwise is just weird given the evidence. Even a guy like Reguilón (who barely kicked a ball under him despite an unprecedented injury crisis in defence) was walking around the pitch after the Europa final holding a Postecoglou banner. Whoa they really must have hated him!

Look I thought we were going to get relegated for a while now but we can't just sit and accept it. We have to at least attempt to do something to salvage the games we have left and that involves making a change because Tudor is not it.

Our cuntish players are mercenaries that would probably prefer to go down so we need someone personable to somehow drill it into their selfish heads that having a relegation on your resume is awful and they need to fix the fuck up. Will it work? Probably not but right now these bunch of cunts are doing everything in their power to get relegated.

I am not regarding how we won the final. It does not matter at all.

But it does when you evaluate a manager who should be hired again. Then its part of the story.

Who cares if they like or hate him. It matters on the pitch.

Nah Tudor is not the answer.

Probably not. He’s a total nobody. But we’ve given him a few matches. It’s all a bit silly from the club if you appoint someone and have lost faith already because we’ve had some horrendous fixtures + Palace/Atletico featured some awful individual errors.

I dunno how much difference it all makes now .. the players are gonna have to do the vast majority of the work as it’s all a bit late & nervy for coaching and tactics.
