It doesn't matter. We could be on course for lesser points than last season despite that record. And that's more important. Would you not take 13 wins, 1 draw and 24 losses now if that broke last season unwanted record? That gives us 40 points and relegation safe.

I’m not disagreeing ; I’m ambivalent when it comes to AP and I think he was worth a punt last Summer for the feel good factor and positive energy following our UEFA Cup win alone . I did write “ be careful what you wish for “ back then .

But as I said to someone yesterday ; a different decision was made by the intelligentsia who
” run “ the club and history is history.

Edit : inverted commas inserted around the word run in my last sentence.

Why the hell is this thread not dead yet?
Because Big Ange is a Tottenham legend, irrespective of what people think - that's a fact.

They did the exact same thing in the league last season. You're making an enormous false equivalency in the face of evidence.

If Postecoglou was such a great motivator and man-manager, why did they spent at least the last 18 months of his tenure playing like lower table players in the league? Why didn't VDV and Romero change the league form too?

Of course part of the answer is that a cup competition sees draws as a success, if you do something in extra time. It is 8 games or so instead of 38. It's not a valid dichotomy.

As per the last part, you have to generally not be in the CL, or exit early, to be in the Europa League (and now, not in the CL at all) - so that is a factor for a number of our recent seasons. Winning the CL is echelons higher in difficulty than the EL, which is why Sevilla have won the UEFA/Europa so many times, but have never made a dent in the CL and lost the Super Cup all but once (despite many appearances).
They did when they were playing. Check the stats.

Idk why people still want this guy back. we lost 22 fucking games last year. Meaning we would have to lose our last 7 this season to equal that steaming pile of shit. We should have gone down last season but by the grace of god the bottom 3 was historically bad.
First of all, we knew it and the rotation plan took that into consideration.
Then, we had 11 wins and I don't think that we will come close soon. What's more 38 points may be enough this season too.
And last but not least, we got a trophy

I'm sadly coming to the conclusion that not only are they very stubborn, but also most likely rather stupid. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah mate, because the ange in side is full of the best and brightest this forum has to offer. Definitely not a gang of mostly illiterates and hangers on who are literally part of a cult of personality worship and were since the day he was linked to us.

If we were going for the EL again, I would completely understand.

Reality - we need to win domestic games so relying and putting all our hope into Ange, the man who lost so many league games last season seems counterproductive.

We may be long gone in terms of any manager making an impact either way.

Think we only lost a few matches when our full back line of Porro, Romero, VDV, and Udogie were fit last season. Ange's problem was the injuries and multiple competitions. We're only in 1 competition now, just need to win a few of the 7 matches remaining. Honestly, I think this is a no-brainer. Oh, and I'm not an Ange cult memeber by any means, was one of the first calling for him to go!

Off all the yeahs & nae’s he splits opinion judging by this thread far more than Conte or Mourinho put together which considering he’s never in a million years going to be as successful but…….if he’d finished mid table won fuck all he’d no have been sacked but he was! we will never know what season 3 would have been like! But would the nae’s have changed their opinion most were giving their verdict on our league form, me personally I’d have given him another season based on Europe whether that would have been the right or wrong decision………judging by this season’s fiasco we’d be no worse off other than being in wolves or Burnley’s position, but as mentioned the players liked working with him so there’s no suggestion that would have been the case.

Because you boring tossers obsess over him and keep his thread going for no other reason than weird daddy issues. That or the ones who share a nationality with him.

I mean you found a way to bump it because a completely different, actually successful manager won a game. Absolute freak.
Yeah but that doesn’t answer the question. Why do YOU feel the need - which it clearly is at this point, given the sheer number of posts, the inability to let anything go, etc - to engage with boring tossers obsessing over an ex-manager? That’s what’s weird.

I mean whatever, do as you like - just don’t act like it’s not peculiar behaviour.
