When Ange first got the job, I remember him saying that..."It will take 3 or 4 seasons to get the squad I want and to have them playing the way I want..."
Did the board back him? NO.
Despite this, he finished 5th in his first season and got us back into Europe.

His second season started reasonably well and by the end of November, we were 8-1-5.
Then we get the start of the injury crisis.
By the end of January, we have 11 first team players out, and Ange is playing 4 or 5 teenagers as replacements.
Why, you ask?
Because he had to!!
All the other "big 6" clubs have at least two or three, competitive and experienced players for each position and the rest of their squads contain up and coming youngsters.

The board is to blame for finishing 17th. They didn't back his vision for the future and refused to get the players he wanted.

And he still won THAT Cup.
Its coz he's an Aussie mate.

He could have had 10 years and it would only have got worse.

Levy shares some of the blame for sure, but Ange was his own worse enemy.

Refusing to play Reg and Djed, when Porro and Udogie had played every game, month after month and running on fumes before a game had started.

Its sickening how people are defending this this guy, rewriting history and ignoring so much.

Embarrassing

Dear Anglophile,

Thankyou for your reply,
Aren't you forgetting the 11 first team players injured and the lack of decent player transfers by the board?
I'm definitely not the one doing the ignoring and rewriting.

Kind Regards,
Angelophile

Not sure if you're aware of this but Man United have won a fair few trophies compared to Spurs in the last 40 years.

Normal Spurs fans tend to celebrate winning them. Derangers seem to feel otherwise.

That's why you're on here hating on a trophy winning manager rather than being on the relegation thread apologising for being so catastrophically wrong. 🤷‍♂️
Lol, and if you can't see why both are linked, you might just be moronic

The only embarrassing thing around here is you... Djed owes his career to Ange.

We have proof of a world class manager either not rating or not being able to manage him.

Yet to see Djed perform like he did under Ange under any other manager

Regulion is playing in the MLS - this post is such a clutch it's hysterical.

Gibe it 12 months and you'll be telling me Regulion deserved the Ballon' dor over realising YOU were WRONG about Ange.

It’s time to think like winners again.
Show us the way St. Angelos the Greek.

I believe the artwork is a Da Vinci currently housed in the Vatican under lock and key.
Tom Hanks tried to make a movie about it in 2003.

Legend says that Leonardo painted this and then drew some helicopters. Ahead of his time.

Will let you make up your own minds.

Yes of course they are linked.

Postecoglou won a trophy and the squad adored him. At the end of a season ruined by injury we had the highest point since Ajax - if not 40 years.

You wanted him sacked. You got your way. Now we're on the bring of relegation.

You need to give yourself a round of applause then gtfo of my club

Refusing to play Reguillon is a new one on the Deranger list of of deranged complaints.

However the Spence complaints are completely unfounded (another Deranger fabrication) as I've detailed many times before but will provide for you helpfully here:

This meme has got completely out of control. You have no idea what Ange thinks/thought about Spence. So let's try and address facts, eh?

We know Spence was on the verge of being flogged to Genoa last summer. We don't know what happened next but presumably he went to the manager and stated he wanted to try and break into the team. Postecoglou gave him one last chance - one that all of Spence's previous managers except Steve Cooper hadn't.

That is fact. All we know for certain is that Spence was about to flogged for a loss. but ended up staying.

So now he's bottom of the pile. He has to prove himself. Train hard, show willing and fight for his chance.

That chance came against Coventry on 18th September. Came on second half - out of position as LB - and was great. Took his chance. Now he's caught the eye but he's still got a lot to prove. Porro is clearly number 1 RB; Udogie clearly number 1 LB. So it's going to be hard.

He's on the bench for the 3-1 win over Brentford. Fair enough. Still got a long way to go to break into the PL team.

He then gets 45 minutes in the win against United. Replaces Udogie (who is not injured just rested) for the second half and again plays well out of position. He's now trusted by the manager to have PL minutes when we're in good position. And is now an option to rotate in game out of position LB/RB. He has the managers trust. This is going well. He's moving up the squad ladder.

Then its the Brighton game - he almost certainly would have made a sub appearance if we were in control but disaster strikes and we throw away a 0-2 lead. Postecoglou relies on his 1st teamers to get out of the mess they created. Mistake? Probably. Understandable - probably. Most managers don't turn to fringe players to get them out of a jam.

And what happens next? Spence gets a groin injury. He misses 3 games. Back on the bench as an unused sub for Ipswich. Comes on late in the City win to help see it out. This groin injury is a set back. This is what stalled his progress.

The next 3 games is where Postecoglou leaves him on the bench as we suffer a series of disappointing results. This is the one patch of the year where you can legitimately say Postecoglou made a mistake. But considering Spence started at the bottom of the pile he wasn't getting ahead of Porro and Udogie who were NOT INJURED and we desperately needed results and under pressure managers rely on what they know has worked for them. But, yes, feel free to have a crack at Postecoglou for this stretch of games.

But Djed keeps going. Doesn't drop his head. Finally gets his chance when he starts against Southampton. He's great.

And hasn't missed a game since EXCEPT for the Wolves game where he was suspended. The Wolves game was where Udogie did his hamstring. Spence couldn't have played because he was suspended.

And since then he's played every game hes been available for and has now proved himself beyond doubt.

Those are the facts. If you look at them and still want to continue this fantasy that Postecoglou never gave him a chance or never believed in him then I'd suggest you are exhibiting "cult like" behaviour.

In this shitty clusterfuck of a season the one good thing - one feel good story - has been Djed Spence turning his career around with the help of the manager who gave him a chance.

Oh - and the REAL MISTAKE Postecoglou made wasn't in not believing in Spence (he clearly did as shown above) it was NOT BELIEVING in Brandon Austin. If he did then Spence gets in the EL squad over Forster and the whole process outlined above would have been accelerated.

Unfortunately I can't provide it in crayon for you so you might want to get someone to play act it out using figurines so you can understand :D

It's interesting to see the Derangers flocking to this thread as we sack our second manager this season and lie one point above the relegation zone having not won a premier league game in 4 months.

It's almost like... they are in denial about something. Wonder what that might be?

Greek Easter falls on the 12th of April this year AFAIK.

Assuming we’ll burn through a couple of managers between now and then ; it would have a certain religious ring to it if he arrived to save us all on say the 13th of April .

# stranger things have been known to happen

As much as I’d love to see him back, I don’t think he would return. It was only last week he was quoted that a prerequisite for any new gig is he would only take on another job with a full preseason available.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Only coz he was forced to play him, coz he broke Porro and Udogie, by playing them into the ground...

You lying manipulating two faced slime bucket...

You couldn't be honest, even if it punched you in the face.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

The cope is insane.

Why the fuck is this clown still allowed to post on this forum? What value does it add? Admin Admin

Why does this thread keep getting bumped… it’s over. The Ange only fans need to accept it. He’ll surface in Scotland again or someplace, give it a rest until then
First of all, you know that the thread gets bumped when you post in it, aye? And if you don’t post, it may not get bumped by anyone else.

Secondly, the thread is for posters to discuss our ex manager. You’ve neither got the clout or the history on here to be saying what should and shouldn’t be given a rest.

Don’t like the thread? Ignore it. There’s even a button to do so.

Dear Brain Rot.

Despite the injuries you mention, Ange still had plenty of options to put out balanced teams. His refusal to play players Djed and Reg, ultimately lead to both Porro and Udogie both being ran into the ground, and making a bad situation worse.

His refusal to adapt to the fact that he got found out by every other PL manager, resulted in us losing 22 times in his last season, whilst at the same time regressing to a team that could barely string two passes together.

The only people who are "forgetting" things are the cultist Ange fan Bois.

It's embarrassing

Kind regards

Someone who is not trying rewrite history.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Its to funny that you have to lie and twist the truth.

He only played Djed, after he broke both Porro, Udogie, and everyone else to the point, he was forced to play Djed, when he had no other option.

He should have been playing Djed and Reg, months earlier, but nah, that to easy, they guy refuse to swallow his pride and squad suffered for it...

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The cope is insane

I see that you are not a proponent of the “practice what you preach” philosophy.

Let’s see if you can stay out of this thread for a month.

Ange Cold Turkey for you my boy. Can you do it???

They’ll get bored again now we know it’s a proper coach like De Zerbi coming in and not Ange. Don’t worry about it. The Aussie ones will straight up disappear once they know there’s zero chance Ange returns.
